What happened?

Hit a ball off his knee and went down for a couple minutes.

It's also not real :bringit

You were saying?

Was Coghlan pulled after fouling one off the knee? Looking at the box score it looks like he just had two a bats.

Somebody check on fathom.

I'm good, thanks for the concern :)

Cubs are playing awesome right now, while the two other NL Central contenders seem to have completely hit the wall. At least Dodgers and Mets have a lot of talent as well. Hopefully Cards find a way to win tomorrow, which should lock up the NL Central for them.

Why are the Cubs starting both Wood and Haren back-to-back again? Is this just their new rotation schedule so that Arrieta is lined up for the Wildcard game?

The cubs are starting to beat the cardinals.

This could be an interesting post season.

Why is Broxton the Cardinals set-up man? Man did they have a terrible trade deadline getting only him and Moss.

what a throw by heyward. molina hurt - thoguht at first rizzo might have spiked him, but clearly a clean slide there (unlike coghlans)

Have to hope he's ok in two weeks

Cubs are on fire.

The Wildcard Game is going to crush somebody.

Well, there's a loss. Hopefully they won't face the Cardinals again.

That should just about do it for NL Central

24 hours ago the Pirates had a half game lead and they were facing Kershaw. Now it's two games and fathom can sleep again. Baseball.

Sounds like Yadi might have a serious injury. Given his awful at bats, not so sure it's as devastating as people will suggest

What? He's the best defensive catcher in the game, they need him, especially given the pitching struggles.

I take it back, I had no idea how bad Cruz is defensively. One of the worst pitcher framers in baseball. Ironically, Flowers is the 2nd best and Soto has been excellent as well.

When Tony Cruz is the other option, its devastating.

Beat me to it.

The Cardinals were bound to have pitching problems eventually. They've been getting very lucky all year with LOB% and in RISP situations.

Only playing one game in a WC series is bulls***.

How they decide who plays in that game is bulls***.

Divisional play and the unbalanced schedule are a pox on the game.

Definitely. I'm surprised they haven't had more slumps this year. Their lineup is more or less pieced together and their rotation is full of guys who have out-performed their peripherals.

So do I need to requote my "6 games back" post from a week and a half ago?

Slight tear for Yadi, not known if he can return in a few weeks

Adam Wainwright may return as a reliever
