I don't want to sound like Bernstein and make baseless rumors based on "sources" But hearing through my buddy that the main sticking point to this deal going through is that the Brewers want Anderson. I guess we will all find out soon enough

Ya well I bet

Jean Segura involved too?

That would make much more sense if Anderson is involved.

Trading Anderson might make sense if the Sox then turn around and trade Q to restock the farm. I'm not at all advocating for this, but it seems like a logical potential move.

Segura is horrible offensively. It would be ironic if he was in a trade to upgrade the offense. From Hahns quotes it seems free agent not trade, but you never know.

Anderson is far from a can't miss prospect, but I don't see the sense in trading him for two years of Lucroy with all the other holes we have right now.

Am I the only one that doesn't see Anderson's skills translating well at the big league level?

In his defense he has been through a lot with the death of his son. He hasn't quite been the same since it happened.

Not really and is better then our current crop of SS but I would still not give up Anderson

How about Anderson for Brett Phillips swap instead? I like that idea much more.

Ohhhh the off season bordome. Come on Hahn, who the hell is the new catcher?

Platooning Lucroy with Avila wouldn't make much sense.

If Hahn truly felt like he was going to get Lucroy at some point this offseason, Avila would've never been brought in.

Just my opinion.

The Brewers don't need Tim Anderson as a shortstop prospect, they have Orlando Arcia coming up through their minor league system. They could be thinking about Anderson as a 2nd baseman. The Sox brass might also be thinking along those lines. If Anderson isn't going to be a major league shortstop, I think he becomes more tradable.

or they're looking to flip anderson and hang onto their own ss prospect

It's good to get rid of lousy players like Tyler, but ...

Is there the slightest chance he might have emerged in his third full season of full playing time? I would guess no other team will make him a regular, so he's probably done. He seemed like a guy with some ability. He hit some mammoth bombs, but mostly he was a strikeout machine. I wonder if it's lack of ability or if he was uncoachable. What I'm trying to say is it seemed like there was a "chance" he could be a .255, 20 HR guy.

He's 30 years old, 280 lbs, and just had knee surgery....not too worried.

@ChiTribKane: Tyler Flowers was surprised by White Sox cutting him. "It really still doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to go this route with it." But...

@ChiTribKane: But Tyler Flowers said maybe decision will make more sense when he hears next move. Either way, he expects a decent market for his services.

Got a link?

Crazy thing now is avi and sorta leury Garcia are the longest position players that's been on team

Our long national nightmare is over. More deadwood off the tree. Should have been done last year. We'll see how many teams are interested in a "pitch framing" stiff who can't hit, can't block balls or throw out base runners.

Thank God.

No guarantees they'll bring in anybody better but how could they find someone who is worse???

Mark

I'm excited for the change
