December 10, 201510 yr $200 million for 7 to 10 years seems like an overpay to me. He is not an elite offensive player. Great defense in RF is not that hard to find. Moreover, he is not the solution to our need for a clean up hitter. But then, I've said that already. December 11, 201510 yr The problem is that he will likely not be able to sustain that defensive prowess for the latter years of a 10 year contract. A good hitter might be able to produce big offensive production in his 30's, but elite defense is a little tougher.

Give him an opt out every year after year 4 and he likely only plays 4-5 years of that contract.
