Essentially it is throwing different pitches from the same arm slot and release point therefore minimizing the amount of time that a hitter has to recognize what the pitch is. I thought it was very interesting to listen to Trevor Bauer when he analyzed Giolito's no hitter. I think he talked alot about tunneling and showed examples of it on the video.
