  2. Like I said, there are tons of examples out there.
  3. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/guardians-vs-rays-alcs-preview-can-jose-ramirez-and-co-keep-rolling-against-no-1-seed-tampa-bay-014049880.html Cleveland asked an absolute ton from its pitching staff in the ALDS. Gavin Williams made an emergency relief appearance between his two brilliant starts. Top righty bullpen arms Cade Smith and Hunter Gaddis pitched in all five games. Three other relievers — Erik Sabrowski, Tim Herrin and Shawn Armstrong — appeared in at least three. The bye week might have prepared them to handle that workload against Chicago, but there's no such break before they take on Tampa Bay, and the Rays' offense is built completely differently than the whiff-happy White Sox lineup that struck out at a record-setting rate. Series prediction: Rays in 6Two years ago, the Guardians went the distance in the ALDS against a division rival and won a memorable Game 5, only to be eliminated in the ALCS by a top-seeded AL East club. Will history repeat itself? It might be trending in that direction, but there are some significant differences between the Rays team the Guardians are about to face and the Yankees club that dispatched them in 2024. Tampa Bay has been incredibly consistent all year, but it doesn't feature a trio of generational sluggers like Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton, all of whom did major damage against Cleveland two years ago.
  4. That's not true at all. Everyone knew. The media still existed. But ok, Patrick Kane...... pretty sure he had a partner when he was accused of rape.
  5. 21 but who's counting 😎

The 2025 version of Colson would be pretty good. I don't want to sell low on a 30+ home run hitting SS without trying some adjustments first.
  7. He should not be in the OD rotation IMO. Either he goes to the pen or should be traded. At a $5M salary, he’s still potentially rostering as a swingman.
  8. Today

  9. I tend to agree, Harkness (although I've been a Cards fan all my life until this season), but I will be catching the Rays vs. Guardians games when I can, on the theory that "whatever happens now to the Guardians is probably what would've happened to the Sox." Is that theory reasonable, or misguided?
  10. They led the Al in runs and going into the post season walked a lot is what he will rely on. I guess I am just jaded by the historical ineptness that befelled them by a good but not elite Cleveland staff.
  11. We are so deep at infield/SS in the minors I think you trade Colston while he has any value left.
  12. "Only the beginning... only just the start..." -Robert Lamm // Chicago
  13. I see Kay mentioned here a lot... Kay is not ogod. He will give you a quality start every now and then, but overall, he is at best a 5th starter. Hovers around 5.00 Era every season.

I want Sam leading off every game even against LHP. Sam will find a way to impact a game. Vargas is on the verge of super star and Meidroth is already super good. Braden either figures out how to hit LHP or he needs to be platooned. Teel as the main catcher will increase the production from the catcher position. Mune is going to walk, strike out and homer. Colson will most likely be the starting SS out of ST. I think he will be on a short leash if he bats like he did the last 2 months of this season. Peters is another one that you don't know what you are going to get with the bat. Doyle as the 4th outfielder is pretty good with his lock down glove. Depending on his playing time I would like to see his power numbers go up. DH --- Does Grich come back? Benny has 1 year left and had decent production for his ab total but I wonder if he can do it again. UT - Yet to be determined
  15. Well now I can stop watching baseball until next year. Never could give a s%*# about who wins what in baseball post season outside of the sox.
  16. The new CBA will probably force jR to spend some money. A couple of good starters would be nice.
  17. Completely agree...............Too bad we had 20! K's
  18. I am on board the Fedde train, bring him back.
  19. I am curious what Getz says at the presser, if he will even address coaches.
  20. I agree in a general sense every time this comes up, but we can’t compare the pressures and temptations and opportunities of a professional athlete to the mundane lives we lead comparatively. It’s much tougher to maintain a marital and moral standard with exponentially more temptation and opportunities. They’re no better or worse than we were created. Just lead different lives
  21. Will wants openers yesterday, openers now and openers forever!
  22. David Robertson was paid like a quality elite closer. Credit for Shark offer, which would have been horrendous?...not to mention the acquisition cost for just one year. Ummm...no. They let a long line of pitchers leave the organization without replacing them. The one they QO'd (not Rodon) led to Kimbrel/AJ Pollock/Benintendi. Not to mention Keuchel (very last pitcher from that FA tier) and Mr. Steak & Potatoes by way of St.Louis/TLR and Texas...capped at three year deals that went bust.
  23. The Sox probably guessed right how to get the most out of this lineup. It’s readily apparent. There’s a cost to everything
  24. I wonder if they thought the same way for the pathetic second half of Kolson.
  25. That is the last thing I want, this thread is my fav.
  26. A limited point I think. Yes, they cratered during the Cleveland series. But it’s only 1 series. They took it to 5 games without starting pitchers. They’re young, gonna make changes and improve the talent. The “ approach” can be tweaked with better talent.
  27. They extended Sale and Buehrle. Quintana. They all say hello back. So do David Robertson. Let us know what they offered Samardzija. Should Reinsdorf offer Jon Cannon 15/999999999999999 just to prove he wants to win? This is a stupid narrative. All owners "allow" their GMs to offer free agents deals.
