  1. Past hour

  2. One of my goals for him for the rest of the season moving through next spring is that he is able to solidify himself as an indispensable regular who needs no platoon pairing.
  3. FWIW this is also some of what Quero is going through. He had 0 passed balls and a .996 fielding% as a rookie last year, and then they had him change his set up with the goal of improving framing results and his blocking has suffered as a result.
  4. Just begging for consistency on evaluations. These guys didn't just instantly depreciate because Chris Getz traded them.
  5. Agreed. IMO he's not a platoon player. Give the kid a chance.
  6. About what was expected - hopefully he takes it up a whole nother level this year. Last year was a huge step-up and he did it playing hurt, would love to see him set the standard and become the best RT in the game this year! Well deserved pay day for Wright!
  7. My best friend is a die hard Giants fan as much as we all are Sox fiends… He said we’ll love Bart and that he initially had issues transitioning to a one legged setup behind the dish that lead to him allowing a lot of passed balls / poor blocking. He’s since tightened that up and now blocking is one of his strengths. He also said pitchers did indeed prefer throwing to him. He’s also slightly above average in controlling the running game. The main knock was his pitch framing which with ABS i personally don’t think has as much value. If I recall - his bat had been showing signs of life before the trade as well.
  8. There's never 100% consensus on any trade. Everyone knows that. Plenty of people thought Gonzalez was wasted on not trying to use him to acquire a pitcher. mostly from all who thought he was a bust. People were still calling it Gonzalez for Thome when it was more about driving the price up on a 1st round talent like Prosek to be able to pay him in the 3rd round with the extra money that came with getting the comp pick. Then they come on here acting like oh can't wait to see how opinions flip with Adams and B. Smith as if they've never did that .
  9. Oh he got PAID. Good for him.
  10. Bears extend Darnell Wright 4 years 116 million, 93 million guaranteed Pro Football RumorsBears, RT Darnell Wright Agree To 4-Year ExtensionThe Bears are signing All-Pro right tackle Darnell Wright to a four-year contract extension.
  11. Got that playoff feeling. I need some nervous pills.
  12. It's not essentially the same player. Nobody ever mistook Hill for a starting CF. That's Doyle's ceiling, gold glove starting CF with some pop. And it's weird. When we trade Hill for 2 minor leaguers, we "gave him away for free". So in that same vein, we got Doyle for free, as well as Bart and Brazoban.
  13. The HI8is post had a link with an article so not only can't read you're blind https://www.purplerow.com/colorado-rockies-roster/77181/colorado-rockies-player-review-brenton-doyle-overcame-a-miserable-first-half-to-finish-with-a-positive-impact I clearly said that the 2nd half included Sept and a red hot August as part of the 2nd half resurgence that was part of the article that used the term "crushing it " to describe said 2nd half while you used Sept and all of 2026 and said you couldn't see that as crushing it. No one, not me nor the article you missed said anything about 2026. Your opinion would be valid had you not said you couldn't see how crushing it related to the time period you talked about because that wasn't the time period they used. You missed not only the article but apparently what I said about September being a part of that 56 game 2nd half of 2025 time period. I didn't even talk about 2026. All I talked about was how you created your own time period of suck and couldn't understand how that was "crushing it" when no one said 2026 and the previous September was "CRUSHING IT". You failed to see quite a bit except what you wanted to see. All anyone was saying is that as recently as a year ago he played pretty good for a 56 game stretch taken in aggregate That's not all that unusual for a lot of players when you separate seasons in halves even if the 2nd half is obviously shorter. The whole Sox team improved in the 2nd half last year with the arrival of more young talent which led me to think the advent of a more talented roster for 2026 would get the Sox 15 more wins. Looks like they will go beyond that. I didn't criticize your lonely F grade for the trade deadline because it very well could turn into an F. I gave it a C- myself but see potential for a solid B. I'm willing to see all sides. I'm not sure you are.
  14. Maybe Sam will enter the game later and do something good!
  15. I really don't like benching Sam against LHP but it seems Will is gonna. Will help him stay fresh down the stretch I guess.
  16. Gonna take 2 out of three against these stiffs.
  17. Oh, so then you're calling Ray Ray a liar?
  18. if we can take 1 game, we will have a 5-5 split vs the AL East in these 3 series, I'm good with that obviously if Cleveland is winning then I'll be irate and demand a sweep
  19. Gotta get Acuna in there!
  20. It’s a good feeling to come back to
  21. We don’t agree. Who cares. I’ll root for him and believe we picked him up for a reason and you’ll s%*# all over the place cherry picking just as much as I am. I’ve officially begun the O-Doyle Rules fan club. Maybe one day you’ll eat crow and join. If not, oh well - they took a calculated risk and didn’t hit. End of story.
  22. i don't think anyone had an issue with Smith or Adams leaving, the complaints were for what came back.
  23. Minny is at KC, brewers have pirates. You just know that twins and guards are licking their chops expecting to catch the Sox by Friday and pounce on the weekend. Certainly, on paper this week could be an inflection point in the AL Central.
  24. It's pretty wild to have this sentiment again after the past few seasons right?
