What Broke Mune?
I wouldn't discount #1. This is the most meaningful professional baseball he's played (outside of the WBC, where he also has struggled). His teams in Japan were not good.

What Broke Mune?
Guys go in slumps but Mune and Colson have to be suffering from bad mechanics, I’m not a hitting coach but the one we have for some reason can’t fix them. Hitting should be simple, see the ball, hit the ball but I’m wondering with all the information available to the modern day player is a bit much and the trend of swinging as hard as one can along with launch angles ruins some players, just look at the batting averages, there’s only 7 guys in MLB that are batting .300. Junior Caminero of the Rays leads the AL in homers with 41 and has one of the flattest swings in baseball but he does swing hard and manages to knock the ball over fences. I’m pretty sure it’s a lot harder to hit a baseball coming at you at 96 MPH with an uppercut swing versus a flat swing. This isn’t 16 inch slow pitch softball like we played in our youth when we had a huge ball and the time to meet the ball with an uppercut swing.

Coach Q at Brother Rice doesn’t teach classes either. Tuition and donations. However, public high schools still make out better… https://ocpathink.org/post/independent-journalism/in-nearly-all-states-public-school-funding-exceeds-private-school-tuition “In Illinois, private-school tuition averaged $12,697, a fraction of the $29,550 in per-pupil revenue provided to public schools in that state.”

Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
A scorching hot Tigers team coming in against a White Sox team that has been awful for weeks. I don't foresee good things here. Prove me wrong losers.

Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
Tigers are desperate and would probably need to win out to make the playoffs. Need to win tonight and deflate them.

There's probably not even going to be a season. It makes even less sense when you take that into consideration.

Upcoming Tigers series, not a gamethread
They way they have played the last few weeks coupled with the disastrous trade deadline, it's hard not to think this way. Up to the players to prove otherwise.

All I can say is good luck.

I know what you are saying but when you really look at it, Eddie played a LOT (comparatively) before the Covid/retirement stuff, Kyler has never once played a full season. That contract was a huge gamble and it does not look like a good gamble so far (Kyler the top pic)

Damn, the football coach alone is a full time paid position? Damn, must be nice to have Catholic school money.

Gordon reminds me of Eddie Goldman, he got paid and then packed it in. Excellent players when they feel like it.- What Broke Mune?
There are a few of things that might be happening here. #1 Playoff race #2 Pitchers have adjusted to his strengths AND weaknesses #3 the MLB season is way longer and more intense than the Japanese one. #4 the critics were right and he isn't good enough for MLB long term, which is why a lot of teams avoided him. If I had to guess I would say mostly 2 with a decent amount of 3 mixed in. We will find out about 4 next year.- 9/16 White Sox - Guardians 6:10pm BST
I do too. That second game was just so crushing, though. Bottom line is we're tied in the loss column with the tiebreaker, so we really do control our own destiny. The next three series will show whether we're just in a temporary slump or irreparably gassed/choking.- 2026 NFL thread
Back end of the defense will be torn to shreds if d line doesn’t create pressure. It’s really hard to miss a guy who doesn’t play- Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
technically the Sox are in first place because of the tie breaker, all they have to do is end the season with the same record as Cleveland to win the division, I look at the tie breaker as worth a half win- Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
OOOOOOHHHHH WERE HALF WAY THERE!!!!!- Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
That Sox team had zero pitching by the end of the year. The only reason they won 90 was because they could absolutely MASH.- Illinois High School Football Thread
Yeah, there is something they don't want out, 100%. Guys like this don't get run off without a damned good reason, and it isn't benching someone's kid unless something crazy happened.- Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
I still think of 2006 where the Tigers were running away with the division and here comes the Twins. Back then winning 90 games couldn't do it.- What Broke Mune?
He could hit the ball basically in any part of the zone, but do we know how well he hits fastballs vs offspeed? Seems like he's having trouble picking up spin to me (based on how often he swings and misses on crap in the dirt). He also seems in between to a degree that paralyzes his decision making at the plate, which is why he's not swinging at some obvious strikes. Also I can't find it now but I saw a comparison of his setup and its very different now as compared to when he was hitting. Basically, he's a complete mess and needs a reset.- Fire Chris Getz
even below mediocre pitching is expensive if one is not using the Sox yardstick- “The 78” + "The Railyard" = the future of the Sox and Fire
I'd imagine they would support it. The Amtrak maintenance facility and the future stadium will result in loads of union construction work.- Tigers @ White Sox, 6:40
Wake the hell up and get it done. Enough of this s%*#.
