Grant Taylor and Hagen Smith Starters next year?
I see it the other way. Smith historically really falls off after the first couple innings (stuff and location). I believe Taylor has a better chance for success as a starter and could very well be one of the best in baseball. He's at 80 innings so you'd think 140ish would be reasonable next year

And Ishbia doesn't own the team, by law.

We need the A's to get at least one of those 3. Then Cleveland has to go to Boston for 3 where they are scheduled to face Sonny Gray and Ranger Suarez in 2 of those.

I'm sure Cleveland fans are thinking the same with the Sox getting to host the Rockies to end the season Both teams still have trips to KC so that evens out. For the other 6 remaining games I'd rather be the team that has all 6 at home being vs Detroit and Colorado instead of 3 at home vs the A's and 3 on the road in Fenway.

It would be so huge to see another good effort from Sandlin to turn over our rotation, as Burke and Martin have been looking much better of late. (Now let's allow them to be starting pitchers, please, and not try to get cute.)

There most definitely is. That’s actually an insanely popular area. You have the Whole Foods, BoA across the street, a few shopping centers, Roosevelt Collection is right on top of the bridge which houses more shopping, and residences. From the Roosevelt Collection, you have a direct line of site to the current railyard. I know because I lived there. You have the Roosevelt bus and South Loops residents traversing by there in car as well when they’re heading south or southwest to get to the highway. There’s the Jewel shopping center across the street as well which is pretty damn large. On the southern end, right off of 16th and Roosevelt are a bunch of train tracks, warehouses and housing. Have yet to see anyone complain of health. There’s are thousands, and that’s in selling it if anything.

I think if Sandlin struggles today we will see Castillo backing him up BUT hopefully DS pitches well

It’s funny. He points out Isbia building up Bridgeport. Yet, Reinsdorf at one point tried and hit was the same Nimbyism that tray is spewing. And to build up around Bridgeport causes Isbia to buy up housing and tear it down. According to tray logic, there’s no need to do that with perfectly good land. And think of the noise pollution it creates when adding more bars and potential drunks…. Trays argument falls apart on itself.

https://www.mlb.com/news/free-agent-starting-pitcher-power-rankings-2025-26 Who? King or Mahle? The majority of these pitchers signed what now look like pretty bad contracts. Obviously, Cease has been great.

Sandlin was really dang good his last time out. Who would've thought to begin the season he'd be starting above Schultz during a stretch run? Not to beat a dead horse, but I wish we would've just rolled with the pitchers we had in the system instead of trading for Castillo. Should've signed a real front of the rotation starter when they were aplenty this past offseason. I think Castillo could have a resurgence next season, still don't like adding the salary and subtracting Boston.

Toronto playing Texas. Obviously someone has to win. Cleveland vs. the 2nd worst team in the league,at home. Need a win to keep pace.

White Sox Winner!
Huge win. Better yet, Mune may be back. I know that one game doesn't mean he's fixed, but he looked more confident. That home run was a blast, and the triple was a nice piece of hitting. Maybe it was the jersey. Just let him wear the Southside jersey all the time now.

All things LA Dodgers Thread...
The Los Angeles aces are back, and then some. To his Ocean’s Eleven of rotations—marquee-worthy names everywhere—Friedman on Aug. 1 added Skubal, the two-time defending American League Cy Young Award winner, in a heist of a trade with the Tigers. In a span of 32 months, through free agency and trades, Friedman acquired Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Roki Sasaki and Skubal. They represent six regular-season and postseason MVP awards, four Cy Young Awards and $1.38 billion in salaries, or about what it cost to pay half the players in the majors in 2011. In the Big Four of Skubal, Yamamoto, Snell and Ohtani, the Dodgers have acquired four of the five pitchers with the lowest ERA in baseball over the past four years (minimum 50 starts), with only the Pirates’ Paul Skenes having evaded their clutches. In their combined postseason careers, the Big Four are 18–8 with a 2.85 ERA. www.si.com

White Sox Winner!
That’s the game plan but the Guards have the A’s this weekend and I watched the Rays-A’s series and the A’s have given up too especially yesterday afternoon.

White Sox Winner!
BMont is lost, shouldn’t be out there unless for defense and he’s not exactly Robert Clemente in right field.

White Sox Winner!
Great win as I think we need to take 3 wins in this series but the bats have to come around as our pitching isn’t going to go out there and hold teams to 1 run every game. Mune might have finally figured things out as I noticed his hands were a bit lower in his batting stance.

A's were actually playing pretty decent until they ran into the Rays. They have a winning record in September.

Glad they are going with Sandlin. Him and Burke might be our 1-2 in the playoffs if he can keep this up.

I am going to need an AED next to the lazy boy at the ready for these games.

I don't think Ishiba showed up at the Bridgeport meeting.

He is under control until 2030 and doesn't make much. I would think the Sox gives him the Tristan Peters treatment and see what happens.
