  1. Past hour

  2. Spending a ton of capital for relievers doesn't sit well for me. Let other teams do it.
  3. To some extent, it's like when you're losing but you get the opposing team to burn their closer. If the Guardians come back and take the division, too bad. But that's what they were always supposed to do. At least we make them sweat and spend a little capital on the way there. But by the way, we're in the lead right now.
  4. Ok now this I do not get.
  5. Best part about a lot of rentals moving? Less guys that can receive a QO. Jump the market early in the offseason and sign an arm or two.
  6. The Castillo trade was mediocre and the Brazoban trade was really good. But I was referring specifically to the Doyle trade and the Pereira DFA. Peters has proven he can play CF and even with his slump, he isn’t anywhere near as horrible with the bat as Doyle is. His career splits away from Coors are embarrassingly bad (.573 OPS). Also, Mason Adams could have helped the bullpen this season.
  7. I at least have to find solace in a belief that Getz drove up the price here on the Indians and forced them to give up more than they wanted. Still think we could have offered a quality over quantity deal that the Nats would have taken… and I would have slotted Forest right at the top with Burke. Really would have felt like walking on sunshine if we had Burke / Griffin / Martin / Kay / Castillo / Schultz as our starting rotation options. Maybe what the Sox have been seeing out of Noah lead them to believe that he is starting to become trustworthy as that number 2 type guy. And maybe they also plan to move Hagen Smith / McDougal up to further strengthen the pen.
  8. Be interesting to see what the offseason even looks like before the lockout
  9. Ha for some time in June when the lockout is over
  10. Surprised the Royals who had solid pitchers they could trade did little to nothing. They aren't going anywhere, next season isn't a given and they hung on to them.
  11. Fegan says Sox are done.
  12. Sox are done per Fegan
  13. By my logic I'll trust the scouting department we have, which is not the same regime that got rid of Tatis. You can tell me I told you so in 8 years if you ever hear from this kid again.
  14. Can't say that I understand it, but okay. I also can't say that I was highly confident that at the end of the season I'd have been saying "thank god we have Everson Pereira on this team"
  15. Might as well start the Carlson and more for Detmers rumors for the offseason
  16. Reds GM needs to be fired. That was malpractice.
  17. Angels about to learn the law of diminishing returns
  18. By your logic we shouldn't attempt to value them because none of us have seen them play. Plenty of guys becomes studs after.coming from DSL. Vielma signed for a good chunk of change and was putting up great numbers for a 16 year old.
  19. Their pitching honestly doesn’t need help
  20. Neto and Detmers confirmed staying put.
  21. They got a starter, a reliable bullpen arm, upgraded catching, and a gold glove caliber CFer they can platoon with Peters who has been struggling lately. I wish they'd have kept Everson, but Fuller hasn't steered me wrong yet. Edit - and also dumped their overpaid closer who was an unreliable gas can.
  22. Eh...well they better get healthy soon I guess.
  23. Dumb move. Romo still has to go.
  24. I really wanted to keep giving him runway. Hope he doesn't put it together
