  2. Guys we as fans do not need to try and perfectly meet the lowest possible budget for the greatest possible team by trading wherever we see a surplus. You can just keep colson, have roch, and just be the dodgers.

Sox need a right-handed bat in the outfield.
  4. am i the only one that thinks there should be a hip-hop supergroup called "playaz 2 be named later"?
  5. What are those demands, Lip?
  6. https://www.si.com/mlb/trade-deadline-10-biggest-mistakes-of-the-last-decade Three involving SD, then there's Mets/PCA leading Tatis, Jr., now... Luckily LAD didn't end up with Alvarez, too. Chris Archer trade to Pittsburgh looks worse and worse...Rays got three front lines players
  7. 1955-Marty Marion always maintained that they would’ve won the pennant in 1955 had Donovan not gone down for a while. 2021-I was a Madrigal fan and really wanted to see him succeed when he first came up. It seemed a lot of Sox fans wanted to see him fail and delighted in calling him “midget” and “dwarf.” However, by the time he was traded I was fine with it. He had been injured a couple times and didn’t seem very durable, and the team was going for it. When he was traded, one person predicted dire consequences, saying that they had traded the next Nellie Fox and in ten years Madrigal would be a fan favorite on the north side.
  8. We really need this game heading into a tough 6 game road trip followed by a crucial home series with the Guards.
  9. I think they pick from a list. Red Sox get one and White Sox get 2 in this deal. Kinda shocked it’s taken this long but maybe it was also based on performance of Hicks?
  10. How does this work? Does the team who traded the players or the team who acquired them pick? I assume it's a list they decide on during the trade, then 6 month later one of the teams choose from the list.
  11. So 6 months from this deal is Saturday. The PTBNLs have to be announced in the next couple days.
  12. When I was a kid back in the late 70s, the fact that Nolan Ryan could throw 100 mph made him a freak of nature. In fact, I want to say he was in the Guinness Book of World Records for throwing a 100 mph fastball. Pitching has changed big time.
  13. Robbie Ray for Ky Bush is my prediction.
  14. Not TRYING. But he will be the first up for a new contract, and Roch is going to play SS in Chicago, and Bonemer backs up Vargas. That’s just reality. And he has a lot of value. If you’re looking for pitching, that would be a very feasible way to get that done without weakening the long term operation
  15. i'm-a movin this to futuresox forum.
  16. So many teams need a catcher, if you don't get stevenson for a reasonable price I have a hard time being convinced so many of those dudes will be worth the price and that our catchers won't revert higher. They've been so bad but Quero esp I can see stabilizing and giving us more than many on the list.
  17. ....with such a move likely hurting the Cubs being the added bonus.
  18. I don't doubt that is what they are asking for and that they may not trade them. However, the curtis mead deal did nothing to sway me from the opinion that positional prospects, esp young, are still carrying a heavy premium over pitching. A fledgling former top prospect whose burned his pre-option years gets hot (not trying to dismiss him, but it is a small sample size), is probably 1B/DH only long term, and commands a second-year starting pitcher with 4 more years of control who has succeeded over 1.5 years. I will be surprised if position players much better than Billy Carlson headline a deal, and while I'm not sure Quero would really be that interesting to the Angels, I think Carlson/Adams is going to be the type of package a pitcher with control will get. Now some 2/3 top 40 pitching prospects will go and people will say 'yuuuuge haul'
  19. Today

  20. Makes so much sense for them, this is their chance to really go for it this year, and they have a ton of prospect capital to get it done without killing the system.

He has such a powerful compact swing. Bat is off his shoulder and through the zone effortlessly. It's so impressive he's doing this to AA pitching at 20 years old.
  22. Pereira is due. Acuña's batting .357 and OPSing .750 in the month of July. Grichuk could use a couple of bloops to get going again.
  23. For sure, it’s a good team getting much better but it’s not because they simply buy everyone
  24. It's the more fun alternative to him ending up a Dodger
