That's good news, but he's been dominant at AA. It will be interesting to see how he fares in the Charlotte launching pad. Righties who don't throw hard are not generally my cup of tea, but it would be great if he can help this year.

You absolutely need take on the 3-0 count in that situation. He would still have to come at you two more times with the game on the line. And the 3-1 pitch was a slider. I don’t mind that take at all. The 3-2 pitch was the issue, not the previous two pitches.

On some level they need to do something just to do something. they’re in the middle of a playoff chase and they’re running out a rotation that’s 3/5ths glorified relievers. They should be aiming higher than Robbie Ray, and then probably trade for Robbie Ray too.

Obviously he is and I can’t believe this is even a serious questions… are we COMPLETELY forgetting that he wasn’t sent from the show back to our Arizona facility in his rookie season to overhaul his work at the plate? He’s just an Adam Dunn like hitter with defensive value - so people will always hate on the kid. If he would grow into bringing more situational hitting value ( which I believe he will in time ) then look out!
