  2. That's what I am thinking, Hays can hit LH pitching.
  3. I hope Mune doesn't fire his agent and then hire Boras.
  4. I haven't done a deep dive but not sure why more people aren't in on Brady Singer. Since June 1, he's started 9 games, 52.1 innings, 17 earned runs (2.92), k/walk 52/16. Guy will cost very little and offers good upside imo. Could package him and Stephenson and probably not have to give up anyone in the top 10 (post-draft). Would still leave plenty for another pitcher or two.
  5. I know the D'Backs are right in the WC Race, but curious if James McCann could probably be acquired at a pretty low cost. Spend real capital on pitching, but McCann wouldn't be a terrible rental.
  6. I agree, he has had 17 starts at Indianapolis this year, low walk per 9, good whip, looks like he is 100% back from TJ, WS experience, bring him up.

Rodon signing was in there, too. Can't remember which was first. What are some of your early Boros/Sox interactions?
  8. He is now selling PRO-PANNNEEE and propane accessories just like his father did before him.

  11. Venable, like other Managers, adheres pretty strictly to Righty/Lefty - Lefty/Righty splits in making a line-up, That's fine, but IMO, every decision in formulating a starting line-up should not always be grounded on split stats mainly because starting pitchers seldom last past 5 innings any more. Also some hitters , like Antonacci who has bad splits, just seems to get dialed in when the game is on the line. I would never pinch hit for Antonacci. Let him grind at the plate, maybe get a hit, a walk, or HBP.

  14. I thought you were talking about the present. Yes, they called him up on June 20th. They cut him and resigned him to another minor league contract. This time, they likely cut him from his minor league deal to get a shot with another team.
  15. Looking at his stats, he was called up by the rangers this year. So yes. 10 PAs but he was called up.
  16. Is he pitching against the Yankees this week? Does making this statement bold and huge make it more meaningful than...not meaningful at all?

That meme/sentiment started WAAAAAAY before that. Like when KW was GM.
  18. They can’t keep running him out there if he can’t go more than 4+ without surrendering 3-5 runs for much longer. It has become the law of diminishing returns recently.
  19. Preller trades don't count
  20. Except for Wood Jr., CJ Abrams, M.Gore and Leo de Vries… And the opposite side of it: “In my opinion one of the greatest trade deadlines not just in the history of baseball, but maybe the greatest in the history of sports. If you disagree please tell me a time a GM traded for the equivalent of the NLDS MVP (if they gave one out it would have gone to Joc Pederson), the NLCS MVP (Dodger killer Eddie Rosario), and the World Series MVP (Jorge Soler) before the trade deadline.”
  21. He knows position players well.
  22. This doesn't mean "don't be afraid to trade prospects because they don't pan out". This means "teams don't trade their good prospects".
  23. I think it’s got to be higher than 100. I don’t recall them saying Schultz would have a massive innings restriction on him this year. He’s got 12 turns left in the rotation and at 5 innings per start that would put him at 140 total on the season. May guess is they use off days to skip two starts and land him around 130.
  24. We face two LHPs in the four game series vs. the Yankees. Right now, it looks like we’ll miss the Rays’ two LHPs. It won’t be a big showcase, but teams are desperate for RH hitting. Assuming Hays gets the call, he really needs to make these couple of starts count.
