  1. Past hour

  2. At this point you are in the 3 to 4 million dollar range, not including his option. It's not much honestly.
  3. Because most people who fail like that at baseball never bounceback. He is the exception, not the rule.
  4. Jed York 🤝 Robert Kraft Nuh NAH nuh NAH
  5. He never had a great season to come back to....and last year was relatively decent. Usually goes to guys coming off major injuries or under performance...like Raleigh hitting 50+ honors again next year.
  6. Yeah I've decided I wouldn't hate a Luis Robert claim (I can't believe I'm saying this) for when rosters expand. Just to play against lefties.
  7. Cool with Monty getting 2 days off in a row. Come back strong in Min
  8. You can't get Eaton value because of that lack of track record and minor league dominance. Pretty sure around a 770-780 career ops in the minors....which he's surprisingly outperforming in the bigs at the moment. There's always going to be those lingering doubts for guys who are never really top prospects coming up. Eaten was on every scout's list, otoh. Of course there were a few character concerns.
  9. I want to say Peters is currently the MLB outfield leader in the two main defensive stats (which I don't know the names of, runs saved and some other acronym). He's really, really, really good out there. May not be flashy, but he's killing it.
  10. What a lineup. Why Meidroth at cleanup?
  11. Or Bonemer can play LF. I'd take 34 homers from LF. Or RF. Peters will end up with a WAR in excess of 4. Could always sell high and try to nab 3 young pitchers a la Eaton (Peters' WAR would probably be similarly inflated if he played RF). I also mention selling because the Sox did try to trade over him in July (despite Acuna's presence); and they are auditioning Bonemer specifically in CF. There's a risk of ending up like we did in 2006-2009 ERA when we had a very good vet CF and 2 touted prospects: we ended up keeping the bust. But right now, it's pretty cool being in first place with the all-star CF batting 7th.
  12. Don't know how people can watch the Vargas progression and still rush to write guys off for having a down month or whatever Would AL Comeback Player of the Year be wild for him?
  13. This is the "Yoan Moncada one more night in eastern Indiana" plan. Not really but you know that mofo was always advocating for it. Probably asked Manfred to schedule the Braves.
  14. And they’re also less of a threat if they beat up on the Guardians, etc
  15. The flight to MIN is currently scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, so that's an extra sleep at home, no rush in the morning, and wheels down before 5pm leaving plenty of time to get your stuff to the hotel and find somewhere nice for dinner.
  16. Today

  17. Hays as a Padre: 26 plate appearances, .250/.308/.375 (.683 ops). 1 extra base hit, this home run from two weeks ago. Grichuk over roughly the same time period: 40 plate appearances, .375/.375/.725 (1.100 ops). 10 extra base hits, 2 home runs. Don't think we're missing out on Hays. Imagine if we kept and played Hays and Gonzalez, this team would not be in first place.
  18. Yes, one of the factors that hasn't been discussed enough is that it's not just about the size of the lead, it's the number of teams chasing you. For a long time it was three, which is a lot and virtually guarantees that somebody from the field is going to make a run. I'm hopeful that our sweep began the process of knocking the Tigers out; that's one down. I'd like to knock Minnesota out next. Then it's a one-on-one battle against Cleveland where we control our own destiny.

He sure has a smooth swing.
  20. Tigers lost, helps our playoff chances fractionally. All adds up.
  21. Dude, be real. If the white sox won 6 titles in the 90s there would absolutely be people and corporations who had those seats and would refuse to sell. You are a season ticket holder who endured the prior 3 seasons of 300 plus losses and questioning another fanbases commitment lmao
  22. Bonemer doesn't have a true RF arm like Braden...but probably beats him out in sprint speed. The problem is you can lose a ton of balls in center with slower first 2-3 steps. And then there's instincts/routes. Bonemer looks a lot more compact athletically. For every Mike Trout, there's 8-10 long loping stride guys who just eat up ground in center making recoveries/adjustments.

I'm a White Sox season ticket holder. I've been one for many years. The White Sox are the cheapest sports team to go see in Chicago. You're not going to go broke going to a White Sox game. The Bulls, Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks are much more expensive than the White Sox. If the prices at a White Sox game were as expensive as the Bulls I would stop going. I'm in a season ticket parking package at the Rate which comes out to $18 a game. I'm told the Cubs parking lot on Grace street is $65.00. The White Sox have numerous discount deals for their fans. The Tuesday night $5 food night is a tremendous deal and a success. You can't buy anything for $5 at a Bulls game. The Bulls are a goldmine. The NBA is so popular that its isn't very hard to sell 20,000 tickets a game in a metro of 9 million people. The Bulls are making more money now than what they did during the Jordan years. They don't have to put out a good product anymore to sell tickets.
  24. Win tonight. Win the series. All is good!
  25. Seems like it, but there's no rush here being so close relatively with an off day. I wonder if the players decide when to leave in a situation like this or if it's management. Maybe a bit of both?
  26. Don't most teams travel immediately after the game ?
  27. Theres also not a single guy on the team that I’m comfortable with saying that yeah they’ll be solid at that position for the next 2-3 years. Some of them will be, some won’t. They need time to sort that all out Vargas is closest, I guess? But even he’s still a bit unknown, and at what position?
