  2. They leave out that in the late 00s he tried to develop but was turned away. It’s one of the reasons he didn’t renew the lease unless he was going to get a sweetheart deal again. Jerry is in Real Estate. He’s developing the land around the UC. Think about that
  3. Amtrak has plans for ISFA, White Sox parking lots - Sox M...Amtrak released new designs of its planned maintenance facility in Chicago's Bridgeport neighborhood. But it requires access through a state-owned parking lot.Sox Machine article summarizing meetings/takeaways from the last 48 hours. Also answers why the area was never were developed akin to Wrigleyville: As per usual, it’s Reinsdorf’s fault.
  4. He did not, unfortunately. There was allegedly a representative from Canal Edge, but Alderman Lee’s source must have been mistaken.
  5. Wonder if they would consider moving Wash-Det to Thursday, so Sox-Tigers can finish Monday. But it’s possible they can get in two on Sunday.
  6. Weather looks pretty dicey Sat & Sun. Detroit does not have an off day like us on Monday. https://www.nbcchicago.com/weather/soaking-wet-stormy-rainy-weekend-ahead-for-chicago-area-severe-weather-possible/3990714/
  7. When I saw he homered I looked up the video just to check. Our eyes do not deceive us.
  8. Wonder if tomorrows game will be moved from 6 to 1 or if they’ll take their chances with a DH Sunday
  9. Good post. I still think it's primarily the mental strain of his first MLB season. Hopefully last night sparks the big turnaround.
  10. I see it the other way. Smith historically really falls off after the first couple innings (stuff and location). I believe Taylor has a better chance for success as a starter and could very well be one of the best in baseball. He's at 80 innings so you'd think 140ish would be reasonable next year
  11. Today

  12. And Ishbia doesn't own the team, by law.
  13. Cause he forgot about Tray
  14. We need the A's to get at least one of those 3. Then Cleveland has to go to Boston for 3 where they are scheduled to face Sonny Gray and Ranger Suarez in 2 of those.
  15. I'm sure Cleveland fans are thinking the same with the Sox getting to host the Rockies to end the season Both teams still have trips to KC so that evens out. For the other 6 remaining games I'd rather be the team that has all 6 at home being vs Detroit and Colorado instead of 3 at home vs the A's and 3 on the road in Fenway.
  16. It would be so huge to see another good effort from Sandlin to turn over our rotation, as Burke and Martin have been looking much better of late. (Now let's allow them to be starting pitchers, please, and not try to get cute.)
  17. There most definitely is. That’s actually an insanely popular area. You have the Whole Foods, BoA across the street, a few shopping centers, Roosevelt Collection is right on top of the bridge which houses more shopping, and residences. From the Roosevelt Collection, you have a direct line of site to the current railyard. I know because I lived there. You have the Roosevelt bus and South Loops residents traversing by there in car as well when they’re heading south or southwest to get to the highway. There’s the Jewel shopping center across the street as well which is pretty damn large. On the southern end, right off of 16th and Roosevelt are a bunch of train tracks, warehouses and housing. Have yet to see anyone complain of health. There’s are thousands, and that’s under selling it if anything.
  18. I think if Sandlin struggles today we will see Castillo backing him up BUT hopefully DS pitches well
  19. BamaDoc posted a topic in FutureSox Board

  20. It’s funny. He points out Isbia building up Bridgeport. Yet, Reinsdorf at one point tried and hit was the same Nimbyism that tray is spewing. And to build up around Bridgeport causes Isbia to buy up housing and tear it down. According to tray logic, there’s no need to do that with perfectly good land. And think of the noise pollution it creates when adding more bars and potential drunks…. Trays argument falls apart on itself.
  21. https://www.mlb.com/news/free-agent-starting-pitcher-power-rankings-2025-26 Who? King or Mahle? The majority of these pitchers signed what now look like pretty bad contracts. Obviously, Cease has been great.
  22. Sandlin was really dang good his last time out. Who would've thought to begin the season he'd be starting above Schultz during a stretch run? Not to beat a dead horse, but I wish we would've just rolled with the pitchers we had in the system instead of trading for Castillo. Should've signed a real front of the rotation starter when they were aplenty this past offseason. I think Castillo could have a resurgence next season, still don't like adding the salary and subtracting Boston.
  23. Toronto playing Texas. Obviously someone has to win. Cleveland vs. the 2nd worst team in the league,at home. Need a win to keep pace.
  24. Huge win. Better yet, Mune may be back. I know that one game doesn't mean he's fixed, but he looked more confident. That home run was a blast, and the triple was a nice piece of hitting. Maybe it was the jersey. Just let him wear the Southside jersey all the time now.
  25. Crazy that Jake McCarthy (yes Colorado helps!) is 25th in mlb ops. Vargas 23rd .826 MurakamiTatis Jr. 30th .816 Antonacci 64th Meidroth 73rd Peters not qualified, nor Grichuk ofc
