Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Baffling trade at the time that's somehow even worse than I thought. Still like the Doyle deal.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
And giving up everything that is great about being in the City of Chicago and spring/summer/fall baseball. I will suffer through a few crappy days for those great days.

“The 78” is alive and well for the Sox, Bears are 'advancing' Hammond development
Nah we are talking avoiding every rain out and also accommodating the possibility of the World Series being played in the park, and also availing the stadium for events like concerts. It’s not about being tough, it’s just common sense

I mean I get the extremes, but also, we are talking about needing a dome for something that happened once in the life of this stadium, and three times in the life of the former one for the weather to be affecting the World Series. There are going to be waaaaaaaaaay more good days and views lost, versus games helped. I would even get the argument if we lived in a more extreme place, but for what you give up, it's not a net gain IMO. I have sat through PLENTY of those horrible weather games in my life, and still wouldn't trade off.

Pablo Torre report on Magic Johnson/dodgers insurance woes
So Torre has been discussing how he’ll drop today his report on dodgers ownership mark Walter, but last week Hunterbrook media posted this article which he contributed to detailing how it ensnares magic johnson as well. It’s very dense but - I’d wonder if the mlb stops allowing this type of ownership structure. https://open.substack.com/pub/hntrbrk/p/new-magic-johnsons-life-insurer-backed?r=bscg&utm_medium=ios

What to do about Castillo for the rest of the season?
Send his ass back to Seattle

Mike Vasil "The Wizard"
It will be interesting to see how he is used in 2028 either as a starter or relief.

I agree the open-air ball parks are the best. But if we had the terrible summers of Az, Texas, and Florida sign me up for a dome.

2026 NFL off season thread
- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
lol…a bit premature to view Smith as 1/100th of the player of Tatis- What to do about Castillo for the rest of the season?
An opener? Piggy back with Urquidy?- Magic Number

Grow a sack, wizard. My son just full thickness tore his ACL for the second time at age 18 and asked his head coach to play through it for the season, just as he asked Coach Q in his junior year at Brother Rice to play through his first full ACL tear. He was politely declined for the second time. He is currently aimlessly walking around the St. Norbert College campus in frustration. Sucks but it is what it is. There’s always next year. The doctor asked him how he was even walking around without severe pain… Because he the toughest m*ther f*cker I know. And no, as opposed to the norm, I am not tougher than my son… I hate this photo but at the same time it is the most honest depiction of the most utter frustration of all time after receiving his MRI results. f*** everything. I have shared many pics of my son and his journey through football at every level. I’m sure he would love any feedback or advice from everyone on this site through his tough journey back. Sorry in advance for posting this in the wrong forum, but, yeah…- 9/3, Sox at Astros, 1:10 PM CT. Castillo vs Brown
For me, it's more that after the last 3 years, and really outside of 2021, practically the better part of everything post 2008, this fanbase deserves a run of legitimate playoff competing teams. An 11 year playoff drought and no playoff series wins since 2005. Hell, remove '05 from the equation, the Sox haven't won a playoff series since 1917. To say this fanbase is long overdue for a run of success would be the understatement of the millennium.- 9/3, Sox at Astros, 1:10 PM CT. Castillo vs Brown
That would make sense if they were a playoff team last year or a team full of veterans. We'd feel a lot better if they were 6-10 games out. "Hey at least we didn't lose 100 this year."- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
maybe this organization has a false sense of fixing pitchers- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
Seranthony did that s%*# with us all the time. He'd blow up, have like 5 or 6 good outings, make you think he's back on track, and then blow up out of nowhere again.- Tommy Pham is back
This post Caulfields hard- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
The Shields / Tatis Jr. trade will always be worse. Tatis Jr. was six years younger than Boston Smith when he was acquired by the Padres — age 17. Smith could still be bad but he would literally have to be called up tomorrow and tear it up to even attempt to match the Tatis Jr. trade in badness, and it still wouldn’t be as bad. Tatis Jr. already had a 3 fWAR season in his rookie season at age 20.- Castillo to Sox for Dominguez, Boston Smith, Nolan Jones per Passan
This will literally make you cringe.- Magic Number
