  1. Past hour

  2. Let’s not get this thread locked. It’s one of the few pure sources of fun here, at least for some of us
  3. Bart > Romo.
  4. You’re panicking on Braden way too soon IMO. I also think Bonemer will be up by May or June and filling in at multiple spots, which will provide a good hedge for both the IF & OF. I’d definitely bring Grichuk on a one year deal though. I’d also go with Bart as the backup catcher over Romo depending on cost. Quero should also be in the mix if he can undo what changes he made last offseason.
  5. In the end we just didn’t have the horses to get the job done. We knew this wasn’t a great team as there were just too many holes, no power in the outfield with Braden being called up too early, losing Austin Hays at the beginning of the year hurt, he was a seasoned pro with a decent bat who played very good defense. The starting pitching was always suspect but the relievers did a great job in the second half. We never had a decent back up catcher and with Teel out most of the year we had a lousy catching situation. Enough has been said and written about Venable so I won’t say anything more. Because of these shortcomings I always expected some kind of letdown but to their credit they hung in there until the last 3 games, all in all it was a fun year from a team that I expected to win 75 games tops so in that respect it was a pretty successful season.
  6. In 2034 (when Ishbia's option kicks in), he'll actually be 98. He turns 91 in a few months (February), but he looks like he's 75. He apparently told Bossard this year that he wants to keep doing this for another 10 years. More power to him if he's able to stay mentally and physically healthy until he's 100, but I hope he decides he's ready to hand things over to the next guy in 2029. Maybe once they get a deal done for a new stadium.
  7. While they K a lot, they also take a lot of walks. Seems that it wouldn't me insurmountable to shift some of the thinking of the current roster to more contact instead of swinging for the fences. Colson absolutely must do that, or he'll end up as an infielder Palka. This sub .300 obp stuff is ridiculous
  8. People need to watch the Joey Votto clip explaining why. Furthermore, a .300 average without slug or OBP is worthless.
  9. Seven qualifying batters hit over .300 this year. .316 was the batting title. It's just not how the game is played anymore.
  10. For people concerned about batting average: the Toronto Blue Jays were second in the AL in batting average. They also hit 162 home runs. We all know the end of that. White Sox were near the league average in batting average.
  11. I think the twins were wrong to do what they did. We have been begging for a hitting coach like Shomon. We get one and we want to fire him. If I have to sit through the bullshit of 2022, where we ranked #1 in batting average and had multiple .300 hitters but no 20 home run hitters, I will lose my s%*#.
  12. It's how modern day hitting is taught.
  13. what happened to Pam Oliver? well that looked awful Bailed out
  14. the old Cleveland Memorial Stadium...aka Mistake by the Lake, was probably THE worst place to watch a baseball game in the late 80s or Three Rivers Stadium
  15. These games for Bagent are like auditions for some other team that needs a QB so that it may pique their interest and offer the Bears a trade offer...so far can't say it's overly impressive. Kid just doesn't have arm talent.
  16. Honestly, Cleveland is a great place to see a game.
  17. didn't even realize JAX came back lol craziness can the Bears set their own offensive ineptitude records?
  18. He just needs to have some..... fun...... this off season
  19. Obviously this is fake news from the fake media. That's why Trump needs to deploy troops in Chicago. That's clearly the only way to stop the thousands of murders a day happening and being covered up by the corrupt Democracts in charge.
  20. Disrespecting the game for awhile.....
  21. Haven’t seen this type of dominance in about 17 hours
  22. Just going to be one of those 💩 weekends starting with DA Coach passing.
  23. Today

  24. feels like a White Sox game thread most teams don't excel with backup QBs but their only loss so far involved a Williams game be thankful, at least you don't have Swift/Loveland for ff or that you're not a Jaguars' fan
  25. Packers are packing the Bears’ 💩.
  26. I found Ramirez's comments and I still don’t see what Colome’s Hat is referring to… After the game, Ramirez addressed the fight and what he saw as the underlying cause of it.
