  1. Past hour

  2. I’m kinda putting the post-Paul Konerko career to 2025 in a box, and moving on. 2026 is a nice start to a new era.
  3. Liam Hendricks seems like a damn good guy...and fun! And fearless! Not perfect on the mound but balled out! Still can't figure out why guys like Kelly and Graverman didn't like him? If those rumors are true?
  4. I don’t want think about any of these people ever again. Cease can come back if he can give us 32 starts.
  5. World-class museums, too. It's been ranked best big city in the US for 10 straight years. Winters still suck, but they're not nearly as bad as they were in the 70s and 80s....not even close. Now imagine having two top-rated ballparks in the same city. Like it or not (I don't), Wrigley is a bucket list-destination for many people. It would be great for the city if we could add a Petco/Oracle/PNC-level ballpark for the Sox on top of that. I know me saying this will make someone throw a huge hissy fit, but I'm still going to say it.
  6. And Caleb Wilson from the Bulls if he also becomes legit.
  7. Giolito and it's probably not even close. Don't even know who my second would be. Abreu, I guess. But I thought people overrated his "leadership" that, to me, didn't even exist.
  8. It's the offseason! So let's have some fun and talk about past eras of White Sox baseball! Who was your favorite player of the Hahn rebuild era? You can base this purely off of on the field production, or feel free to include their personality and off the field persona as well!
  9. I dont feel venable should be fired. Does he have to fine tune some things? Sure! But honestly he was dealing with a patched up pitching staff and a young team. Getz did better than I thought, anybody who steps in that role is already at a disadvantage with Jerry being frugal
  10. So TA achieved the most by far out of that group, probably had the lowest expectations, and yet guys like Michael Kopech never even get mentioned when the failings of that era are railed on. We dont' talk about the failings in his personal life.
  11. TA is way more high profile than Kopech. Kopech is a bust and nobody gives a s%*# about him or thinks highly of him. TA was a star and leader of one of the most disappointing teams in White Sox history. His downfall coincided with the downfall of that team. Totally different scenarios.
  12. I stopped looking at X a while ago, before the season started, partly because of the number of uninformed baseball "fans". There are a number of groups on Facebook filled with trolls or truly uninformed people who became insufferable over the last three games. The number of people who believe Venable should be fired was staggering. Someone even said to bring in Don Mattingly. This was an amazing season that ended frustratingly. The pitching was gassed, and I think the whole team was beat. Venable is a manager of the year candidate (and likely top contender). Getz is likely an executive of the year candidate (less deservedly so). So many young guys exceeded expectations, and some veterans really stepped up. It's has been several years since watching the White Sox was fun. It was a blast this year. I can't wait for 2027.

I think its very unlikely that everything returns from this season.. they're going to sign some players, im sure there will be trades made. Something will be different. I hope they finally bite the bullet and release Benintendi. Its the final year, that's usually when they make that move. Id prefer them to do it before the season to improve the roster flexibility. There's no reason to carry him for a few months getting nothing from him just to cut ties in May/June. My guess is Bonemer is going to take an OFers spot when he eventually comes up, most likely Peters or Antonacci. Even if Roch takes a full year in the minors, someone is going to have to be moved as there aren't enough spots to go around and if you have a valuable excess chip it only makes sense to cash in on it. Someone has to be moved eventually to help improve the starting rotation.
  14. Again, why TA, and the guys who DO get mentioned, who have very specific things in common, versus those who do NOT.
  15. That's my point. People care more about TA than any of those other guys. Hence, why his stuff gets talked about more. No one gives a s%*# about Eloy's girlfriend.
  16. Did they do an Eloy Jimenez, Luis Robert, or Yoan Moncada night?
  17. Today

  18. When are the White Sox hosting Michael Kopech celebration night like they did for TA last month?
  19. And that "rape" story was all over Chicago media. Patrick Kane, like every other example you've mentioned is a HALL OF FAME PLAYER. People tend to love players who win their franchise multiple championships. Tim Anderson's most comparable player on Baseball Reference is Amed Rosario. Plus the team just had a FRICKIN TIM ANDERSON CELEBRATION NIGHT LAST MONTH. You're acting like TA is banished from the org. And like I said, outside of us diehard White Sox fans, how many casual baseball fans know anything at all about TA's off the field life. You're forgetting that you are in the top 0.1% most knowledgeable people on the planet about Tim Anderson. I can name dozens of black athletes, who have questionable off the field "issues" who are still beloved by fans.
  20. Agreed. Thankfully there are enough OF options where he can just focus on being an infielder again
  21. I was at the season opener when the Sox and Shane Smith got obliterated by the Brewers. I was texting my son and said I predicted Fedde would be the ace of the staff. While he wasn't the ace, he was one of the most valuable down the stretch and into the postseason. I wouldn't mind seeing him brought back in 2027.
  22. Again, why not Michael Kopech? He came in with probably the highest expectations of anyone in that era, yet when the disappointments are listed, his name is never mentioned. Good teammate? Dude punched his roomate in the minors. The story he cheated on his wife within six months of their marriage, hence the quick divorce. Drug suspension, and racist social media posts also happened during his career. He also opted out of 2020. Is it ever brought up when he is mentioned? No. Why?
  23. I think what hurts TA most is he was the leader of a team which should have been a contender but ended up being a colossal disappointment. He also completely fell off at this time. Then he got KOed... Nobody looks back on that period in a positive light. He is one of the faces of it.
  24. Like I said, there are tons of examples out there.
  25. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/guardians-vs-rays-alcs-preview-can-jose-ramirez-and-co-keep-rolling-against-no-1-seed-tampa-bay-014049880.html Cleveland asked an absolute ton from its pitching staff in the ALDS. Gavin Williams made an emergency relief appearance between his two brilliant starts. Top righty bullpen arms Cade Smith and Hunter Gaddis pitched in all five games. Three other relievers — Erik Sabrowski, Tim Herrin and Shawn Armstrong — appeared in at least three. The bye week might have prepared them to handle that workload against Chicago, but there's no such break before they take on Tampa Bay, and the Rays' offense is built completely differently than the whiff-happy White Sox lineup that struck out at a record-setting rate. Series prediction: Rays in 6Two years ago, the Guardians went the distance in the ALDS against a division rival and won a memorable Game 5, only to be eliminated in the ALCS by a top-seeded AL East club. Will history repeat itself? It might be trending in that direction, but there are some significant differences between the Rays team the Guardians are about to face and the Yankees club that dispatched them in 2024. Tampa Bay has been incredibly consistent all year, but it doesn't feature a trio of generational sluggers like Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton, all of whom did major damage against Cleveland two years ago.
