  1. Trout to backup Robert would also be cool
  2. Not surprised given that Keith Law hates the White Sox with a passion

I messaged Brooks Boyer thanks to you guys and I was forwarded to the girl who is in charge of it so I've made contact!!! Thanks all!

I was just reading some Sox Fest notes that Jose Abreu has the same goal as you. Hope you both get to perform the Anthem this year. Good Luck!
  5. Maybe he likes him some Mendick...
  6. Trade for him now... Immediately sign him to the 12 year 420 million dollar extension he requested from Boston. haha
  7. For sure, the Boylen way is foolproof
  8. It's a good day imo. February 1st is a huge date on the calendar for any sports fan. Super Bowl. Then signals the start of CBB tourney season and spring training, and then obviously the Big Dance and the start of real MLB. Meanwhile you've got the PGA Tour in full swing on the west coast (leading up to Pebble Beach and then the Masters) and the NBA is winding down for ASW and then gearing up for the final playoff push. If you're into soccer, it's the meat of the Cup and League season for all major Euro leagues, and this year we also have WCQ starting. For Chicago folks and most of NA above the mason dixon line it's also the time you start to notice the days getting longer and here in the PNW usually the 2nd week of February starts gardening season and the end of "winter" (at least any real chance of snow in the lowlands). Today is a good day.
  9. 13 is a fair floor for our as yet untested lineup. We have unproven potential for top 5 rating. As a biased fan I believe we will end the season closer to 5 than 13.
  10. Yeah, my first reaction was "Yeah, Sox at 13 is fair. They could easily leap to Top 5, but there is a lot of boom-bust." *Reads article "Holy crap this list is bad."
  11. Yeah. Wow. That is a bad list. White Sox in the middle of the pack I think is fine though. Don’t forget that we always see the upside of our guys because we’re fans, but this is a lineup with a ton variance. The potential is massive but the downside is very real. If you’re projecting, you gotta take the average. This lineup could very well turn into a top five lineup this year if everyone takes a step forward/no one regresses, but it could be pathetic if everyone stalls/everyone regresses. Overall, that potential should make it actually fun to watch for the first time since the rebuild started.
  12. That's awesome for you, have a blast! You're still going to see Eloy pinch hit in the sixth & jack one to take a 4-3 lead. Of course scoring Yoan & giving Lucas the W for the all star game. Has anyone else tried this koolaid? It's so tasty.
  13. I did talk to someone at Soxfest about this. I would not get your hopes up. I got the impression these are not going to be available to the general public, and if they are you're looking at a very small quantity so get ready to pay up.
  14. Oh definitely, but I learned a lot about Ramos/Gladney from it.
  15. I selected Holt for his versatility but Pence would probably be the choice for spelling Mazara. The FO seems sold on the idea that Mazara is the man... so I'll trust in that for now.
  16. Jason, they are not playing decent. They still have one win vs teams with a better than .500 record, and this is their January numbers. None of this says decent. Your insistence that this is all somehow better than what the record is, is really confusing to me.
  17. Maybe the Sox are too comfortable with Mazara as a full time RFer given that Texas wasn't , Or just in case, maybe they should at least look for a better option than Adam Engel or Leury. So maybe trade for a decent outfielder since there does not seen to be a viable major league ready option in the Sox system. Something like Zak Collins and a minor league prospect for Ian Happ (offered only as a purely speculative and theoretical example). Out of the list in the OP I like Dozier or Brad Miller on a cheap one year contract. Miller can play infield or outfield, and that could be valuable .
  18. This team has actually been playing pretty decent, especially given the injuries as of late. Fucking sham Zach wasn’t put in. Should have gotten a pity nod at the very least. Maybe he will be a late add. Zach has been flat out fun to watch and Chandler has had his best few games of his career.
  19. Because when you get to February...you can see baseball starting if you squint.
  20. Lindor or Arenando would be nice, or Dozier would be cool.
  21. So the players don't matter to you at all and are just assets? Glad we could sort that out, and on that note I'll go ahead and concede from this conversation as we share dramatically different views on the enjoyment of being a fan.
  22. Shredder needs an over haul or a tune up. Happy to see Encarnacion make it but come on now. He's a DH. I understand the reluctance to count traditional stats like RBI's but they really can't fit the AL RBI leader on this list ? It's one thing to say RBI's are based on opportunities but on a bad team do we really think Abreu had so many more opportunities for RBI's or is it more a product that he hit damn good in those opportunities. It's starting to look like walks mean more than RBI's. I love walks as much as the next guy but I'd rather have a guy drive in runs than leave it up to the next guy. Too many stats now are walk /OBP driven and since the Shredder is most likely a Brian Kenny Sabermetric type unbiased calculation I doubt RBI's get the love that walks driven stats do. The name of the game is still getting more runs across the plate than your opponent. Wouldn't be surprised if the batting champ doesn't make the top 10 SS either or slides in at 9 or 10.
