  1. Take the points, good lord. Also be nice if Rome could do something

  2. One of the best and a part of three noteworthy White Sox teams. The 1967, 1972 and 1977 groups. A record setting relief pitcher before he became a record setting starter. Had the chance to interview him in 2005. Very nice guy. https://www.chicagotribune.com/2026/01/18/wilbur-wood-chicago-white-sox-obit/

  3. If you watch the all 22 of the interception, Ben Johnson drew up a play that created a massive window in the defense. Moore ends up running way too deep of a crossing route and doesn't flatten it like he's supposed to. If he turns his route into more of a dig instead of a deep crosser he would have been wide ass open. At the very worst that's incomplete because Caleb maybe leads him on the throw a bit too much. Everyone maybe should have gotten a little blame on this play. Johnson with maybe too aggressive of a play call (even though it should have worked), Caleb with maybe leads DJ too much on this throw even if he runs the correct route, and DJ for straight up running the wrong route for the situation. But the main issue stems from DJ running the wrong route. You can't be having miscommunications like this in the playoffs in overtime in a gotta have it situation. That's something that Ben Johnson and the FO have to address. Cause this is a personnel and coaching issue.

  4. Just a crazy, crazy season. Way more entertaining than it had any right to be.

  6. Defense stood tall today especially the DBs. Moore half assing it in OT in a do or die situation...ugh Johnson gooing for it the second possession negates not getting it the first. I'm just not a Rome fan and am tired of DJ Moore. They need sure handed good route runners. Sky is the limit

  7. Probably not, but he passed on a short and very makeable field goal. Also, Dexter gave the Rams a field goal on his stupid penalty. 6 point shift there.

  8. Sorry to hear this. Herrmann,Melton,Allen and now Wilbur Wood all passed. They were all heroes to me as a young White Sox fan. May they all rest in peace.

  9. Again that another luck situation. How many times can you keep expecting to force 2-3-4 turnovers a game like they did this year which is why bringing in some game wreckers on defense has to be a priority this off season.

  11. The scariest part of watching the Bears offense isn't when they face 3rd and forever, it's when it's 3rd/4th and short. We just can't consistently hit in the quick game. The fact that Ben keeps going for it in these situations just makes it worse.

  12. I'd actually argue the Bears had terrible turnover luck in the playoffs. They forced 6 fumbles in the last 2 games and recovered none of them. Stafford also had 2-3 tipped passes that didn't get intercepted. All the turnover luck they had in the regular season just went away. They also threw 2 picks cause the receivers ran the wrong route and another one was because the main receiver slipped on 4th down.

  13. Well...you can't keep relying on luck to bail you out and it finally caught up with them. So be it. They had an impressive season but they aren't close to being a championship contender yet. What do they need to do next to move closer to that goal? Just my opinion: 1A. Williams has to stay healthy and keep progressing. he made some big mistakes tonight but it was his first playoff experience. 1B. The Bears have to beg, borrow, steal, trade draft picks, sign free agents whatever they need to do and bring in some game wreckers on defense. Period. Guys opponents have to specifically game plan for (and fear). The defense played out of their minds tonight but that hasn't been the case for most of the season. Again you can't keep expecting to force 2-3 turnovers a game. 2. I think part of the reason Johnson doesn't go for field goals much is because Santos isn't capable of kicking home 55-60 yarders regularly. He doesn't have the leg for it. Go out and kind a kicker who can. They seem to be all over the place expect in Chicago. It will be an interesting off season.

  16. Great Hail Mary TD but you can’t throw 3 INT’s in a playoff game and expect to win. Still funny how the field goal Johnson didn’t go for could end up being the difference. Ouch…

  19. I disagree, when you have a QB who can run like Caleb, why not use him in short yardage situation? At the very least, if you use him enough times, it makes the defense think about that and it opens up other options.

  21. Meidroth also plays smart baseball, whereas Madrigal plays ….baseball?
    2 points
  22. You are completely ignoring walks and OBP, which is another big edge for Chase over Sosa. I also think the Madrigal comp is a very poor one. Nick was tiny while Meidroth is fairly average height (neither offer much power). Meidroth is also one of the most selective hitters in baseball and Nick was one of the most aggressive.

  23. Even with Boras this seems fair with some kind of mutual option. If other teams are expecting the Sox to pay half then the problem is they dont think the odds of him reaching his upside hitting and health is worth even 1 decent prospects or even 2 mediocre ones. $10M for maybe 100 games of above average fielding and baserunning with low OBP and inconsistent power and incentives basedd on games played and offensive performance might be worth another $3-7M that you doubt you'll end up paying but not multiple prospects. Teams would rather gamble with incentive money if he performs than pay with prospects up front and end up with Anderson/Moncada/Jimenez downside clone performance.

  26. Here's my story: My parents owned a deli. On Saturdays, my Dad would give us money, each, to go to the Metro on Belmont, and buy a toy. My older brother would con us to use our money to buy baseball cards. So we'd open the packs. My older brother and sister would grab up the Ron Santo, Billy Williams and Ernie Banks cards. When I cried hard enough, my brother gave me the Rich Morales and Wilbur Wood cards, telling me that they were also Chicago players. I never looked back.

  27. I always found it odd that JRs ownership basically had nothing to do with Wilbur Wood. To the best of my knowledge he was never even invited back to Soxfest or any doings at the ballpark. If the White Sox ever have a Team Hall of Fame (like other teams have) Wood will be a White Sox Hall of Famer.

  28. Completely unrelated but I watched Stafford’s postgame interview and could not help but notice his ridiculous fake teeth. The dude is worth over $150 million and can’t buy a better set of veneers than those? I found this thread on Reddit from a year ago and someone just updated it tonight with the comment, “whiter than the snow tonight.” 🤣

  29. I honestly thought they should have taken the points on the first drive. But the problem with that drive was Odunze short arming the TD he should have caught.

  30. Fluke injury, it happens. Williams can also get hurt anytime he steps on the field. You have to measure that against the number of times in critical situations when you can't convert on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1.

  31. Williams converted two short yardage situations tonight on his own. He's more than big and strong enough. He's got better odds doing that then pitching the ball back to a running back five yards behind the line of scrimmage. (as was shown tonight as well)

  32. When you come from behind eight times including tonight in the last 2:00 minutes of a game to win or tie, that's a lot of luck involved. Something like that you'd expect to happen once or twice. Eight times? That defies the law of averages, which is why it's never happened before in the history of the NFL.

  33. Obviously amazing season. But man...to get that TD to send the game to OT and then fumble the game on that interception. That hurts. I'm not sure this team had what it takes to go win next week in Seattle, but you play the games for a reason. I bet nobody thought this defense could hold Stafford and the Rams to 17 points over 4 quarters. If you had told me that before the game, I would have guaranteed that we'd win. The offense just could not convert key 4th downs in the first half. That pick in OT was probably on Moore. We don't know what the play is, but I don't think Caleb just throws it up there like that if he didn't think Moore was going to break his route off. DJ's kind of known for improvising at the worst times, but he played a great game before that today. That's just part of the DJ Moore experience I guess.

  34. There was just no creativity on the short yardage plays.

  35. Funny that the D stepped up tonight, Caleb threw too many picks, WRs dropped too many passes, couldn't convert on short yardage situations and BJ left too many points on the field. Oh well, Seattle is the best team in the NFC and I hope they destroy this Rams team.
