  1. My money's on Scott Stapp for Pope!!!! ....although he might think that's a demotion....
  2. "Goin' Back To Tucson" by Supersuckers "Dakota" by Stereophonics "I Owe" by Living Things
  3. s***, pretty soon every poster is going to be a mod, because this site is going to have as many boards as posters!!! ....and I'll STILL refuse to be a mod.... What's next, a board for each inning of a game thread? Cripes! I practically have to scroll down when I look for the SLaP board!!
  4. Kolb's had kind of a rough start as the Braves' closer, and isn't Smoltz 0-3? Hmmmmm.......
  5. GODDAMN IT, NO JOE CARTER??????? THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN THE WORLD!!!!!! And for whatever it's worth, Scully bores me too. Brickhouse was OK when I was a kid. Harry was fun and a credible announcer with the Sox, but went senile and goofy with the Cubs. I liked Drysdale too, and Hawk has really grown on me. I used to hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhate! his announcing, but now I can't imagine the Sox broadcasts without him.
  6. I'll say it again: Baker, as a manager, is a substitute teacher. He doesn't hold anyone accountable, and he defends them when they're 100% in the wrong ( such as the announcer debacle last year ). It's no wonder players want to play for him - they can do and say whatever they want and he'll NEVER set them straight. If they had a real manager in 2003, we Sox fans probably would have had to suffer the unthinkable.....so PLEASE, TribCo, NEVER fire Dusty the Pitcher Killer!!!!
  7. The best part is, if the Sox win the first two games of THIS series, we won't have to worry about a sweep....
  8. It's just one of the dumber things I hear people do. It annoys me, it always has.
  9. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 07:22 AM) I think that's right. It's a poor choice letting that be quoted, when everyone knows you actually don't have confidence in Willie, knowing that the context can't be reported. Ozzie needs a personal pr department. Yeah, Oz needs a filter, for sure, but then a lot of the fun Ozzie quotes would never get to our ears, and I NEED the Crazy Ozzie Quotes! And if you think about it, this COULD actually make it look like Ozzie likes Willie enough to talk s*** about him, like he's part of the team, etc etc. ...but then the next four days on the bench erases the good feeling all over again...
  10. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 09:40 PM) It's still there, look it up. Doesn't anyone still hold THIS ritual sacred in the Church of Baseball? I don't. I think it's bulls***. No announcer, fan, or writer has EVER caused a pitcher to lose a no-hitter. This is black cat, scary goat, hocus-pocus curse bulls*** that has no basis in reality. And I'm glad to see that Jon and Mark were bulls***ting about it on the bench. Like the ad campaign says, there's only ONE stat that matters. W
  11. The part that makes me consider this a non-issue is where Ozzie says "I told Willie...." - this means Oz was re-telling a joke that he told TO Willie! This sounds like the typical joking around and s***-talking that goes on all the time on any team at any level, from MLB to beer-league softball. It's nothing.
  12. Ryan Seacrest = annoying hack. Star on Walk Of Fame = now without value.
  13. He must've gotten the hernia from the weight of carrying the Tigers' playoff hopes on his back!!!
  14. Hermanson and Vizcaino were such HUGE additions to this team. They are KEY to the Sox chances this season. Dependable veteran bullpen arms are worth their weight in gold.
  15. It's called a joke. Oz does that a lot.
  16. Wasn't it only one or two? I was at the Jon Rauch win over Cleveland, but I don't know if there were any more 5th starter wins. ( I was also at the Josh Stewart pants-crapping against Boston..... :puke )
  17. QUOTE(T R U @ Apr 15, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) Yeah Undertaker kicked Giant Gonzalez ass at Wrestlemania back in the day True, but Gonzalez's furry Wooly Mammoth bodysuit was ALL THE RAGE!!!

    The Birth Test

Supposedly, I'm the Life Of The Party.....hmmmm.....that's SOME party if that's the case.
  19. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) "WEEELLL... WELL IT'S THE BIG SHOWWW!!!" HA, he's about 400 pounds too thin to be the Big Slow! That's a tall drink o' water, though....taller doesn't necessarily = better, as Giant Gonzalez and Shawn Bradley have proven.
  20. Here's mine: UK - cavemen scratching on the walls of their caves US - crude drums made of the skin of bears stretched across hollowed-out tree trunks
  21. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 12:06 PM) Way to go Carl, I'm starting to feel stupid about disliking him in Boston now. Whenever there's a dispute between an athlete and Boston, feel free to blame Boston. This also applies for Philadelphia.
  22. I don't care what it is, when he comes back, or how he performs. I appreciate his time with the Sox, but he's not on my mind anymore. I only care about his performance 19 games per year now.
  23. I wasn't expecting everything to click at once. I'm confident that the Sox hitters will find their stride. I'm just glad to see them take 6 of 8 while not hitting all that well. Pitching, defense and the timely hit....a classic combination.
  24. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) And the alternative of NOT clothing you is MUCH scarier :puke You don't have to tell ME that.... You know how hard it is to shower in a sweatsuit????
