5/9 Reds @ White Sox Doubleheader
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 10, 2015 -> 03:04 AM) Mother's Day and John Danks do not belong in the same sentence. I used to be a Danks lover, but you guys are convincing me he is as bad as Noesi.

Is there somebody who could replace Noesi? Isn't it time to give him the DFA treatment?

5/9 Reds @ White Sox Doubleheader
Duke is pretty good. If the Sox stink this season and have a firesale he's gonna bring some good talent. Sox have a lot of guys other teams are going to want.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 10, 2015 -> 02:19 AM) 5/15 on stolen bases this season. (Reds are 34/36). The Sox just want to play the game the right way, with speed and defense. Not yet.

5/9 Reds @ White Sox Doubleheader
I assume this has already been discussed, but just checking in on the game. I see Rodon did great. SOmebody should be fired if he's put back in the pen. Let the guy start. If he runs out of innings like Strasburg, then shut him down. LET HIM START and succeed not RELIEVE and fail.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 9, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) Meanwhile, the Twins are about to be five games over .500, sigh. Wonder if the Indians somehow being worse is the only thing besides JR saving Ventura's job? That's why I'm all for trading everybody ... soon. Start with Robertson, then LaRoche, then Melky, then Duke then Lexy. We gonna get a lot of good players for these guys. Maybe the new team can play .500 someday.

Ventura told stuff by front office
QUOTE (LDF @ May 9, 2015 -> 06:27 AM) it is not only Hahn but Williams as well, and by default, the owners. i am still laughing at this part, their upper management skills. Yeah, I thought that was appalling as well. Skills? Robin needs to walk out, I tell ya.
-
Ventura told stuff by front office
I don't like it. Hahn comes across as having second guessed Robin in conversations or told him how to do some stuff. Even if Robin needs that, it shouldn't be made public. Robin should quit now. I'm convinced of that. Like I said, the front office is not without flaw. The roster arguably is not that of a winner. Abreu, Robertson are smash hits; LaRoche yuck; Melky yawn.

Ventura told stuff by front office
Robin should quit. I don't like him as a manager but the minute the front office starts meddling it's time to quit. He can't need the money. I would think after being a big league manager he'll be able to be an analyst the rest of his life on ESPN or local TV. Show some pride and quit, Robin. f*** the front office. They should look in the mirror in regards to all the stiffs they've brought to the Sox and guys who won't take a pitch and work a count. It's not Robin's fault all these bums have been acquired. And don't get the idea I like Robin. I think he sucks as a manager. But he should quit if he has pride.

Coop Can Now Be Interim Manager
Hire Coop. He was so crabby again in his Score interview posted on the 670 page. Awesome how annoyed he gets.

5/7 Tigers at White Sox
QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) Thank you Adam Eaton for being a no show again today. I hate to say it and won't just yet, but soon I may be saying, "Eaton blows." Man he is off to a horrific start. QUOTE (Tannerfan @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:33 PM) If they do lose today hopefully they'll stop wearing their pajamas. Dumb to wear the unis 3 days in a row. Dumb. More symptoms of Team Dysfunction. Like the unis had anything to do with the wins. Wear em two days and the other ones the third. Show some confidence. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 7, 2015 -> 09:34 PM) I really dont like just throwing this game. I get that sweeping the Tigers is not a must, but that doesn't mean the Sox should just hand the Tigers a win here. That seems silly. There's never sense of urgency. Thanx for that s*** at bat, Lexi.

5/7 Tigers at White Sox
QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 7, 2015 -> 10:06 PM) I think we are just watching a bad to mediocre team. That's the occam's razor explanation. Win some, lose some. End of year will be around 75 wins at this rate. I think you are right. This game was OVA for all intents when Lexi hit the routine DP with bags loaded and nobody out in a tie game. Sad at bat. Another lost opportunity. Should have scored a lotta runs that inning and swept Detroit. Not to be.

5/7 Tigers at White Sox
QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Something that makes the offensive struggles even worse is that a majority of the runs the sox have scored lately were thanks in part to an error by the opposition or misplay (last night's big inning doesn't happen if Eaton's liner is caught) That could have really deflated Detroit. Error would have been huge to open the inning.

QUOTE (JoshPR @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:29 PM) But..... But... He's so valuable....... They've got nobody else to put at short.
-
5/7 Tigers at White Sox
All Lexi has to do is hit a fly ball against a lousy lefthander. First pitch grounder to third. Ridiculous. At least try to elevate, Lexi.
-
5/7 Tigers at White Sox
Should he have gone for the triple play? That was buzzill to the rally.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:11 PM) Im not generally concerned about the leadoff hitters RBI totals. But that is just me He doesn't have an RBI total. It's zero. And he has six walks all year and an OBP of about .260.

5/7 Tigers at White Sox
According to the stats I just saw, Eaton doesn't have an RBI all year. Is he overrated or just slumping? On base percentage sucks.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 7, 2015 -> 04:45 PM) I'd say about half the crowd at the game, if not more, had left. It was a long game. It just shows you today's attention span of people. Only diehard fans will stay after the 3 hour mark. Once it hits 10:15 on a night game, forget it.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 7, 2015 -> 07:46 PM) Some of the numbers for the team vs LHP are crazy bad: Alexei: 1-15, no walks Melky: 2-28, 1 walk Abreu: 4-23, 1 2b, 1 HR, 2 walks LaRoche: 5-24, 1 walk Moral of the story is: cut Bonifacio, bring back Viciedo! I wonder if Viciedo is one of those guys that has eaten himself out of baseball. He must be awfully lazy to have not even gotten a minor league deal with somebody.

5/6 Tigers at White Sox
QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 7, 2015 -> 05:18 AM) A Garcia may not walk much, but he's not a hacker either. he knows what he's doing. That was a nice hit he had. I like that Stoney said he's "one of the best breaking ball hitters around." If that's true, that's good.
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
Kudos to those who predicted the rally in the game thread. I know there were several heroes, but I'd like to go with Melky over Avi as the main hero. Sox desperately needed that home run. For the three stars of the game I'll go Melky, Avi (hit and the throw) and Robertson (just because).

5/6 Tigers at White Sox
Awesome win. How the hell did this team pull that off? Well if Sox keep this up maybe we'll have to assume they are not a lousy team, just a horrific road team. That's an amazing win. I went for a jog in the 8th and now will wait for the highlights on mlb.com. Team dysfunction continues to be weird ... tonight the good side of the Jeckyll/Hyde thing. Sorry to doubt you White Sox, but that four-game sweep in Minnie was un-nerving.
-
AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
OMG I went for a jog in the eighth before the Tstorms hit here and I come back and see the Sox won?! Holy s***. It turned into a thriller of a final two innings. Was the ninth scary? Was Robertson still nasty or did something happen to where he's human?

QUOTE (flavum @ May 7, 2015 -> 03:19 AM) I really didn't like Stone's quote today about Ventura being here as long as he wants to be. FO probably likes the fact he's professional, the players like him and he says nothing controversial. The only thing I don't like about him is it seems like our players are mental midgets and don't come to compete every night and I kind of blame Robin for that.
