  1. Thomas is crushing the inside pitch. Farmer and Rooney are talking about how long its been since he's done this and they really like his new approach. He's going to kick some ass this season
  2. That was real cool...thanks Baggs

    France

Its not an illegal war. When France uses its veto power it will simply imply restrictions that will give Saddam a bit more time, but in the end the war will still be fine. Now it will be the first time that the US fires first on an enemy. I know there are documents that say the war is illegal if you fire first or something along those lines, but a lot of documents all wash eachother out. Things get repeaeted and said in so many different lines/angles with the UN and in general. *hopefully that makes sense*
  4. Hey SI or anyone else. Does anyone have info on the case, etc. I don't have a clue who he is and I think there are definate flaws in the legal case, but just because I hear something I don't believe it to be true, Case in point, I don't necessarily agree this guy is innocent. Hell, I hear so many freaking people always claim their innocence and part of the reason is they are f***ed up. Thats why a lot of these people are in prison. On some occassions you'll have some smart people in prison, but typically the people in their got serious mental problems or weaknesses and they did sick and disgusting things. I know their are plenty of drug dealers etc in there and many believe thats a bunch of bs, but we shouldn't have people doing drugs all over the place. It would be a great improvement in the sense we could tax them and that fast food stock would go through the roof since everyone has munchies but the punk drug dealers belong where they are and so do most of the people in prison - NOT SAYING ALL - cause I don't know every case. One bulls*** case is that one from New York. The guy had just moved their from Florida and there was a stranger in his son's room (His son was really young, I Think 9 months). He asked who the stranger was, then the stranger said there are more of us downstairs. The owner of the house called to his girlfriend downstairs to call the cops. The stranger charged towards him and he shot him in the leg. Now the DA is going to be sending the owner of the gun (The guy who shot the intruder) because the gun wasn't registered. He was in the process of getting it registered too. He had just moved and need to re-register it. It was registered in Florida. I'm sorry but this is complete BULLs***. This DA is so full of crap. Hell, these aren't the only cases where the owner of the house gets screwed by some burgular. Thats plain bulls***. They intrude, they face the defense of the owner. It isn't like they knocked on the door asking to borrow some butter and they were murdered.
  5. I'm worried a bit. Colon wasn't even hitting 90 and thats not a good thing. Hopefully it has to do with him working on another pitch, but typically with a pitcher their velocity should be pretty close from outing to outing. The control/effectiveness varies, but velocity typically wouldn't drop that much.
  6. To the 4th; 4-2 Sox I am assuming Colon will be coming back out. I'll be back in like 15 minutes, going to make me some lunch.
  7. 4-2 Sox now. Ordonez ripped in a run with a sacrifice fly. Konerko steps up with 2 outs and Thomas at first base.
  8. Thomas has another base hit. It drives in a run. Its his 2nd hit of the game. He had a homer earlier. I don't know what the score is though. 1st and 3rd with one out and Magglio is at the plate.
  9. Should I keep up with the updates? Nobody really seems to be interested. I think were all interested. Plus its a great way for those that are at work right now to listen. You kick ass at this clujer!!!!!!!! I'll help you out too. Miles just had a basehit that scored Graffy.
  10. Miles arm really lacks, but its not much worse then Harris's. Its not a horrible idea and I definately like Miles. The analogy to Brett Butler is really good, cause Miles is one of those rare guys now a days that really chokes up on the bat.
  11. Alright, just put the game on. Hopefully Colon gets the fastball going, but maybe he's working on his changeup some more. It was looking awesome when I saw him pitch.
  12. Now I just want to know that Wright is HEALTHY
  13. For all his tantrums Knight is still a kick butt head coach.

    UGA Troubles

They definately did the noble thing and took themselves out of post-season play. Harrick is an amazing coach and does a great job building programs, but I got a feeling he's going to be s*** out of luck after he gets canned in the offseason. Now if he somehow turns out innocent, then he'll be fine.

    MB

Shut the f*** up. trade MB that is the stupidest thing ive ever heard on this board.(not counting what i say) Not only that, but STL would laugh there ass off at that deal... laugh their asses off.. no they would be first in line to get mark.......then when they had him they would laugh their asses off........all the way to the world series im sure......... I must be the only one that sees that as a very fair deal. Pujols is a stud while Morris is an awesome pitcher as well. I'd definately miss Buerhle, but if we were too lose him this would be an amazing deal for the Sox, actually I'd probably do it right now. I love Buerhle though and hope he's pitching with the Sox a long long time.
  18. how you figure royce is better than miles .. miles is outhitting him and surely is better defensivly .... royce hasnt got the range factor miles has.. surely you saw that this past week........and the back factor plays in here too.. its been acting up on royce so its only a matter of time before it puts him out.....im sorry i disagree with you here on this one ... miles is by far the better productive player....... i stand firm on that........ Jimenez has a stronger arm and better range. There is a reason he can play shortstop. Spring training number wise, look at Jimenez's obp. He's been spectacular. Look at the fact that Jimenez last season with the Sox put up a very impressive obp. Then in his first full season with the Padres he was also very impressive, especially since he was a rookie.
  19. I'm speaking of actions too -- the action of getting on base. D'Angelo showed us a glimpse of what he's capable of late last season, and so far this spring it has continued. Numbers are overrated -- but sometimes you can't argue with them. And the reason I say I'm "rational" in this "debate" is because I'm saying to go with the guy who has proved himself in a short time in the majors (and particularly, with the Sox) over the younger, lesser experienced player. Elementary, my dear Watson. One thing, Miles is older then Jimenez. Jimenez has way higher career numbers then him. In AAA a few years back Jimenez hit .322 or so with a ton of steals, etc and a very high obp. This kid is damn good. Miles has had one good year so far, last year. Now injuries have effected him, but Jimenez had a broken neck that he had to come back from.

    MB

I see it this way. MB wanted an extra year. If you put in the extra year it counts around 4 mill a year avg over 4 seasons. I think he believes he can do way better then that in arbitration and he probably could. I'll throw out the 5th year option cause that is up to the Sox. Its definately at a fair price, but there is no promise it happens. Right now it looks like a 4 yr 16 mill or so deal. Well, the only guarantee is that its a 3 yr deal worth 8 mill. No one knows what happens with Buerhle. For all he knows he gets hurt or the Sox jack around his innings to save money. You never know. I'm not saying it happens but it could. What makes this deal go down is if the Sox make the 5th year option mutual and drop the option on the 4th year. The deal is very fair to Mark cause he has 16 mill guaranteed and its fair to the Sox cause they save in the long haul. Then the 5th year deal can be done by each team, but there would be some clauses for protection. Something like if Mark accepts the 5th year its less money and if the Sox do it then its 10 mill. You dont' want mark able to accept 10 mill if he's hurt or not as good. The Sox could have a buyout in this though. This is just my theory. Its a difficult deal, but one that gives Mark more money GUARANTEED and one that gives the Sox good savings over the long haul. I think the Sox prefer the 5th year as just an option year for them though and they'll probably do it that way.
  21. Jimenez is/will and should be our starting second baseman. Offensively he has proven himself both at the major league level and definately at the minor league level. THis guy has a whole lot of ability, speed, power, and most importantly patience. He doesn't strike out much at all and has the potential to post a 400 OBP%, which would rank him as one of the top leadoff guys in the majors right there with Ichiro. I'm not saying he will do it this year, but if this guy hits .280 for the Sox, then his obp will be near 400, imo.
  22. Awesome. Sounds like most everyon did good. Crede has been heating up and Rios played well while the pitching was great except for that bum Porzio. Thanks a whole lot Clujer
  23. Diaz sure has been pitching sharply. Porzio blows....he'll never beat out someone like Munoz or even Sanders. I think he'll be cut as the Sox add Brian Daubach to the 40 man roster.
  24. Interesting. I wasn't able to see Frank when I was there this weekend, but hopefully he's ripping the ball. I can't wait till the Sox get one of their games televised. Can anyone tell me when the Sox are broadcasting a spring training game?
  25. Damn, I wish Sanders did better. I thought he looked pretty solid, but I don't see him beating out Wunsch. I don't think anyone will, but Munoz is damn good.
