  1. QUOTE (joeynach @ Feb 22, 2010 -> 05:48 PM) HOLY CRAP. If we had Buehrle, Danks, Flloyd, Peavy, Halladay....anyone else get wood!! Kind of reminds me of the 68" White Sox. They had a team era (INCLUDING THE BULLPEN) of 2.53. Still didn't win the pennant because of the lineup. Don't get me wrong, if everyone does what they are supposed to....especially Rios, Quentin, Jones, it will without a doubt add some punch to our lineup. So.....granted....we do have a chance to do something special this year.............but all of the pieces do have to fall in place.
  2. The closest I've been to there is the "Cairo-Practor!!"
  3. My all time favorite was Juan Agosto (Juan "Disgusto") My favorite rhyme quote..."We were tortured by Borchard!"
  4. I was at that game. The sad thing is that a friend of mine was from Seattle, and so I went WAY ahead of time and got tickets so we could both see our favorite teams. Obviously..............he enjoyed that game a lot more than I did. I almost saw history TWICE. 1st, teammates going back to back, and then back to back homers again in the same inning. The 2nd.......Cameron did hit 4 homers, but he put a fifth one on the warning track. When he came up for his last at bat.............the whole stadium cheered for him for a 5th homer. The first inning was like watching the Bugs Bunny baseball cartoon against all of the goons.
  5. Besides, if he did take steroids, it didn't affect his body. Just his head. The guys bloated head arrogance about himself is incredible!
  6. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 08:26 PM) There are actually a bunch of freware/shareware programs with rippling water algorithms. Open up a jpg, define the area to ripple, adjust a couple of parameters and you're done. Google "rippling water image algorithm" etc., and you'll get a bunch of them. They have been around for about 10 years, so there are going to be some older programs out there. Some of those other images you linked are just animated gifs, and gif animators are also out there in abundance as freeware. Thank You! As I mentioned, this is a whole new ball park for me. You gave me some search ideas that I haven't thought of.
  7. Hmmmm! Kind of disappointed that no responses came in. Been doind a lot of searching, but I hate to go purchasing something if it is not what I am looking for. The small tutorials and reviewed infos don't seem to tell you a whole lot. Was hoping that someone here with different photoshop programs experience would have been able to steer me in the right direction. Since that didn't seem to work out, anyone else have any suggestions??
  8. Hello all! I know there are quite afew of you out there that are real familiar with different photo shop programs to create different effects. I'm rather in the dark on this subject. Here's what I am trying to do (and below I listed 4 links that lead to pictoral examples). In my church. I create a lot of powerpoints for the announcements amd am looking to spruce things up a bit with more visual aids. Sometimes I'll use photos with words in front of them. I wanted to start putting slides up on the screens that get a little more animated. I have no idea on how to create animations on only CERTAIN PORTIONS of a picture (Moving water, glitter, stars, flashing words etc) By looking at the links, any suggestions on what programs are out there that I can create some of these effects without having to be some guru genius to figure it out? Lastly........any ideas on the cost of the programs that you list whether it be by software or downloads? Thanks, Rooftop Moving Water Moving Water 2 Moving Wings, Glitter Hands Multiple pictures with Moving border
  9. In 1967 there was a guy across the street from me had a heart attack. The ambulance could not get down to the middle of the block. The paramedics plunged their way through the snow from the main road to get to his house. I remember seeing them lift and balance the stretcher in the air as they worked feverishly to get him to the ambulance that was parked on the main highway. Thankfully, he made it through OK.
  10. The Pastor of the church that I go to came from Buffalo about 15 years ago, When he was younger, he told me of a weekend where the BIG FLAKES wre coming down HARD the whole weekend with harsh winds. There was this one drift that he told me about, that when it froze, he climbed to the top and touched the top of the telephone pole. That's just flat out sick!
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Feb 6, 2010 -> 07:33 PM) 1967? I think it was 23 inches. Obviously I wasn't around then. Record for snowfall in Chicago in one day is 19.8". 1967 was mostly one big total dump. I think that it was either 1978 or 1979 when we got around 87 total inches for the year. It seemed like every day it snowed to some degree.
  12. Is there a Fuddruckers still around anywhere? I remember in Downers Grove that there used to be one. There were 2 restaurants right across from one another. Fuddruckers, and Mother Tuckers. Try saying those together real fast in mixed company without slipping up.
  13. For one of the best burgers, I agree with Top Notch. Been to the one on 95th off of Cicero. Value? Quantity and price? Hands down....Little Franks Pizza. They have a 1 pound homemade hamburger with Fries for under 6 bucks. It's on 79th street about 1/2 block east of Narraganset in Burbank.
  14. Ladderball. or Double ladderball. It goes by both names lhttp://www.ladder-ball.net/rules.html
  15. No link. Just heard on Comcast Sportsnight that Jenks will make about 7 mil, and Quentin about 3 mil. for 2010. Don't have the exact numbers yet.
  16. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jan 14, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) I use to bowl a lot until I hurt my elbow. I carried a 200 average and best game I shot was 286. Best series was 767. Join the club bro. Was always around the 195 era, and had numerous 700 series, but 2 obliterated knees ended that life. Best / worst night. Rolled back to back 268 games. Started thinking about 800. Couldn't miss! Well, the 3rd game I left 7 "Wrap Around" 10 pins in the first 9 frames, then went out! The "Carry" guru decided that he needed to leave me and go take a dump!
  17. 2006 was another one of mine. I went to go visit an old friend who moved to Maine. It was on Labor Day weekend, and he took me to 2 White Sox vs Red Sox games at Fenway. The second game, we sat 4 rows in back of the White Sox dugout. We lost both games, but still we had a great time, and it was a great experience being and sitting there. After one game we had some time to kill, so we stopped in a bar, and it was kind of a rush as I got all the Booooooooooooooooooo's as I walked in with all my White Sox gear on. All the people were friendly and joking around with me, but what was cool was that, No One got obnoxious. PROBABLY because they won both games. Either way......it was a Great Time altogether.
  18. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 09:01 PM) Remember the Magikist Lips sign?? Hey, if we're going to go "The lips route" then we can't forget about the cartoon s"Clutch Cargo" and "Scott McCloud-Space angel" Real Lips talking inserted into a cartoon.
  19. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 09:19 PM) QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) Here ya Go! QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) I've got something for you! Those are great. And what about this one? Man.....that guy must be in his 80's by now. Believe it or not, that commercial still pops up now and then.
  20. I've got something for you!
  21. QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 08:58 PM) Boy oh Boy! You definately win that one. He beats Timmy hands down. TOTALLY Forgot all about that Schmirler idiot! Still laughing as I type this. Your posting really fits this thread..."Remember when???" Can't type anymore. Still laughing! Can't forget about Jim Sorensen Chevrolet! Jim: You're a great wife Carol!" Wife: "You're a great Chevy dealer Jim!" As Jay Leno would say............."SHUT UP! (Note......now you're gonna have that Schmerler idiot on my mind all night!) Here ya Go!
  22. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 12:51 PM) I'd take Timmy over Harry Schmirler, "Your Singing Ford man" any day. "In the Good Old Summertime. . . " Loved seeing old Timmy get a pie in the face in one of those commercials though. Boy oh Boy! 23. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 11:17 AM) I remember those teevee ads for Long Chevrolet. . . IN ELMHURST! I can't think of ANYBODY who ever saw that commercial, that hearing that annoying kid "Timmy, the newspaper boy" that didn't fantasize about wishing they could take that kid out to the parking lot and start wailing on him. MAN DID THAT KID GET UNDER YOUR NERVES!
  24. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 6, 2010 -> 07:02 AM) Remember when "penny candy" actually cost something at least close to a penny? I remember it when it "WAS" a penny. The local Ben Franklin store had a huge bin to choose what you want. If you had 50 cents, you'd put 50 pieces of candy in a brown paper bag, go the counter, and the cashier wouldn't even count it. They would just ask you..."How many you got??" You told them and then pay for it. On the counter, they used to have a huge matchbox car display. THE ORIGINAL ONES that were made in England. Whenever I had a little money. I always had a hard time deciding whether to buy candy, or a matchbox car.
  25. One of my favorites! Pulling up to a stop sign and CONSTANTLY seeing 200 miles of unwound 8-track tape hooked on some weeds and blowing in the wind. It always reminded me of how someone probably got it jammed up in their deck, got ticked, and tossed the tape out the window. Man, I used to see that stuff all over.........A LOT!
