Who are you backing and why.
QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 06:57 PM) Reds, as they play with the most enthusiasm of any team in baseball. Votto is an absolute stud with a terrific recovery from personal issues. Gomes is a great clubhouse leader, and it will be exciting to hopefully see Aroldis get to face Utley and Howard. They're the most enjoyable team in baseball to watch, IMO. Bruce has gone 2003 Barry Bonds the last month.

Who are you backing and why.
QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 3, 2010 -> 06:31 PM) Phillies, I admire how that franchise has been run for the past few years. They make some questionable moves (extension to Howard and Moyer make me scratch my head) but I love how they trade for and develop talent. This. I'm going to be glued to the tube for the Reds/Phillies.

Getting Pumped for 2011!
I'm watching the Giants go apes*** right now. I have no idea how some can say they're not disappointed by this season.

Getting Pumped for 2011!
No playoff baseball for the 4th time in the last 5 years since '05. I'm disappointed. The end.

IT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER
I'm giving the Gold Glove award ONE LAST f***ING CHANCE! If 'Alexei doesn't win it I'm done.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
f***in' joke. I can't stand when teams go apes*** after they've been eliminated. The Cubs are the best team in the NL right now.

Garcia vs. Pena for 2011 rotation
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 01:03 AM) i would rather go with a younger guy with more potential not named Chris Sale. Carlos Torres. LMAO. And I'd rather go with Bill Murray.

Garcia vs. Pena for 2011 rotation
I'd like to have this guy named Daniel Hudson in the rotation over either.

Konerko to address free agency before TH game
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) I can't imagine there's another 1B in the game who's better at making the throw to second on the 3-6-3/3-6-1 double play, the vast majority of 1B have a LOT of trouble with that throw (Adam Dunn hit a baserunner just yesterday) but I can't remember Konerko f***ing up that throw much over the past 10+ years. I can live with a lack of range if he can make the throw to 2B and pick nearly everything out of the dirt, that's a 1B primary responsibility more so than ranging to his sides on grounders. When you weigh the defensive responsibilities of a 1B he's well above average. I thought you were dead? Yeah, you're right about the throws to 2B. I was thinking mostly range, in which even for a 1B, he has none. But dude said "ridiculously" good. Just had to comment.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
I'm glad the Rays don't get fans. The way they scout/draft, they'd be deadly with a legitimate payroll.

Ozzie and the staff will be back for 2011
QUOTE (Cali @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 11:22 AM) It's gonna be really nice saving $200 on my DirecTV bill not ordering the MLB Package next year.... Two words: Carlos Gonzalez. He alone is worth it.

Konerko to address free agency before TH game
QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) His defense is ridiculously good. Do you think he is going to break down suddenly? I don't see him as a much of a liability. He's one of the best. I don't think so. Other than the errors he saves from poor throws, which are very valuable, he's well below average defensively.

Ho-hum. A 4 game win streak. - Sox vs. Sawks - 7:10p CSN
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 12:30 AM) Watch us win out to not get a good draft pick. >. Nothing more f***ing annoying than that. I remember in 2002 it looked like we were on our way to a 90-loss season and at least a top 10 pick. Then the team, led by Joe Crede who went prime Scott Rolen in September, decides to after sucking all year go 22-12 in their last 34 games and finish up at 81-81. Therefore we ended up with the 18th pick and drafted the mythical Royce Ring.

White Sox need Morel at 3B
Haven't been watching many games since it was clear we weren't sniffing the playoffs. But I peeped some Morel highlights at MLB.COM. This dude has a SERIOUS glove. I had heard it was good. Insane range and a strong/accurate throwing arm. I'm on the Morel bandwagon. I just can never get too excited about a prospect with KW in charge.

Soxtalk Keeper League 2 Info
Congrats again, Beckham. I really wanted to win all 4 Soxtalk leagues. lol. I was going to create a thread and talk trash to everybody. But getting to the final round in all 4 leagues (winning 2 of them) will have to suffice.

Soxtalk Keeper 1 Thread
Steve must've prayed real hard last night before going to bed. .400 BA, 9 runs, 8 HRs and 15 RBIs from his offense today. Looks like I'm going to lose 5-4. f***in' bulls***. But I'll be back with a purpose next year. My keepers are already set. Forget this post.

Soxtalk Non-Keeper #1
QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 26, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) J4L - I think that you're giving WT too much in that trade. Suck it, knight! lol. Without that trade I don't win the league. And I've got to give myself a HUGE pat on the back for recognizing in early April that Chris Young was a prime breakout candidate and trading Oswalt for him.

.500, Schmive-hundred. We want winners, dammit
QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 05:34 PM) boy these f***ers are streaky man. It's like a tale of two seasons. I remember back in April and May for a stretch of three weeks also, this teams can't string together wins or losses, it's win and lose one back and forth. Now late in the season, they just can't stop ending whatever streak they are in, win 7 lose 8 and now 4 in counting. btw, Tony Pena has been pretty reliable when the Sox needed him for long relief or spot starts, almost made people forget about the great D.J. Carrasco. Tony Pena is hot garbage.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 01:24 PM) They kinda need that Hamilton guy to return to health and form pretty quick too. I personally don't think he's that hurt. They've had a commanding lead for a while and were able to be cautious with him.
