That leaves Abreu and Anderson on your 14 player list of Hahn accomplishments. I will give you these 2 as having some sustained success but even last year there were some on this board suggesting Anderson was nothing special. Let me also remind you and you can also use this to your advantage , that Hahn has many talent evaluators under him . Doing the legwork, making recommendations. He also has the owner over him controlling the purse strings. SO perhaps the best I can say about Hahn is that the right people below him may not be the best and the guy above him might not be the guy the Sox need to spend lavishly. Perhaps it is Reinsdorfs loyalty that hampers Hahn on his acquisitions and from hiring the people Hahn himself may desire but might not be able to get due to Reinsdorfs loyalty to his employees or his loyalty to his investors. Then there are the 2 guys you just said we should cut ties with , Alonso and Jay. Since you like to use players acquired to use as a gauge to message success then didn't Hahn acquire those 2 in a a experiment that failed miserably ? Avi is actually very fast. He's huge like a linebacker and maybe he starts off slow but once he gets it in gear he can really move. In that 2017 season he had over 20 infield hits, many of them coming on routine plays where the SS took his sweet time and all of a sudden looked up to throw and there was AVi beating the throw. He hustles all the time, probably why he gets a bum knee and hamstring problems. Probably need to stretch those hammy's more than he does.

Have you looked at Scooter Gennett's stats ? I know he is primarily a 2nd baseman but he has also played 3rd and the OF in LF and RF . He has some pop. He would be a nice alternative if we can't get Rendon and might even play a decent RF though I have no idea. Also could just use him primarily at 2nd. Rather him than Madrigal and Madrigal could be used as a trade piece if he shows more on his way up. Or if he shows enough you can trade Gennett. You won't see any 2019 stats for Gennett because he's been out all year.
