Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
I'll notice a lot of guys get extended and none by teams that just acquired them in a trade . They always have a choice that's why it's called FREE agency. Free to seek the best offer from the team they prefer. SInce you didn't give me an example that I asked for it's not just the Sox who can't bend players to their will.

No need to apologize. I was the one reminding them .

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
I'm pretty sure most of us realize that . But then again maybe some people need to be reminded if they actually think Lindor to us is a possibility.

Maybe one exists out there but could you please find me an example where a team that traded for a superstar free agent to be for a short period of time such as 2 years or less convinced him to sign an extension ? I feel like extension talk comes up on trading for every superstar like Lindor or Betts and goes on and on without ever being a real possibility. I understand this is a fantasy type trade that will never happen and it's fun to discuss the possibilities but once the trade is done in your mind perhaps the rest of the fantasy should be grounded in reality.

The Indians are not folding up the tents just because they trade Lindor. They are retooling on the fly. That logic might work if the Tigers traded Boyd to us but not with the Indians and Lindor.

White Sox sign Gio Gonzalez
It's likely Grandal had input since right after the trade Hahn said Grandal was giving advice on who he likes . I know Hahn might not go overboard on giving him credit but glad to know Grandal's presence was instrumental in Double G coming here. Or maybe it was the money too.

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
Does it even matter? Some shit you can just look at and know it's bogus from the get go. Even if the Sox approached Cleveland they couldn't match a prospect package or controllable MLB talents from the Dodgers or probably the Padres too. Dodgers are flush with good players at minor and ML level. Why trade in the division to a team with an inferior offer ? You know the Sox won't give up Eloy, Moncada, Giolito, Robert. They need all the ML pitchers they have like Cease and Lopez. That leaves Madrigal, Vaughn and whoever against Verdugo and May and whoeve,r which is controllable guys who had good 1st seasons . Some around here are in love with Madrigal and Vaughn but Verdugo and May beat that duo handily since Vaughn won't help the Indians right away and Madrigal doesn't have the proven MLB bat like Verdugo even if it was just 1 year. Indians aren't rebuilding they are retooling almost like The Tampa Bay Rays continue to do successfully and they will want MLB ready talent just like when they traded Bauer. A slick fielding HR hitting SS with a billion $ smile is one of the most valuable commodities in baseball for 2 years. All this talk about trading Vaughn and Madrigal wouldn't be worth it unless we signed Lindor to an extension is silly talk. You think the Dodgers or Reds are going to insist on him signing an extension ? No they will happily give up whatever it takes to get him for 2 years, Madrigal is a slap hitting good fielding decent baserunner with no power and Vaughn is a right handed undersized 1st basemen who still has to run the gauntlet that is Birmingham to prove he has what it takes. I'd ship them off so fast for 2 years of Lindor it would make your heads spin. Plus the Sox don't even have to keep him if the Indians were so stupid as to trade him to the Sox . They could trade Lindor for Verdugo and May and we have our young controllable assets right back and ones that fill the OF and starting pitching needs. Oh, no 2nd basemen . Sign Cesar Hernandez use Mendick, Starlin Castro let Brock Holt play full time there. There are still decent options out there. I know, I know . A lot of time and lengthy post on a bogus trade rumor .

I knew he was one or the other but the point is either Sox or Cubs fan he was being Sarcastic.

What would it take to get Nolan Arenado?
But some were including Cease and Collins and Stiever into the mix too

What would it take to get Nolan Arenado?
Yea we didn't get close to that with Sale and he was younger with a great contract.

Because Wilbon is a Sox fan, kind of the way we say Sox making a move ! even if it's a minor one. Sarcastically .

I thought we were talking about DH

White Sox sign Gio Gonzalez
Collins. Plenty may not like him but it's about time he gets a legit shot at some PT. If not after last years season at Charlotte then when ? If traded it seems like every time the Sox trade a prospect teams target out high OBP guys not to mention all the power he could bring.

I like Madrigal I really do but huh ? If you can say this after a break out hitting season for Anderson I can't imagine what you would think if he hadn't broke out. Madrigal MIGHT be a good fielder and decent slap hitter but I have no idea why anyone would like him more than TA unless you really really despise the errors and bat flips and even then you are still dealing with Madrigal who could fail at the MLB level.

White Sox sign Gio Gonzalez
You know I was looking that up to see if he was a Boras guy but I saw he was a CAA client and before that Aces client so never posted it. Which website says he's a Boras guy. BR said CAA and before that it was ACES.

Sox In on Lindor? Crackpot Rumor?
Ok realizing its 99% fantasy but you wouldn't want Lindor for 2 years ? I would 1000x. I'd give up Madrigal and Vaughn in a heartbeat for him. Ticket sales skyrocket. You could play him or trade him. Have you seen the rumored Dodger packages for him ? If somehow Cleveland likes Madrigal and Vaughn better than Alex Verdugo, Dustin May , Keibert Ruiz you pull that trigger at once. Then trade him to the Dodgers for Verdugo and May and volia we have a starting pitcher and OF both of whom are still controllable for many years and also have solid MLB starts to their careers.

I can see you tried just reading the 1st few posts then commenting instead of your usual way of reading the whole thread. LOL you get burned either way when you are late to the news. Fathom already said it's better upon review of his stats. I was going to suggest he then delete his 1st post , decided not too . Oh well

Are you talking about Stinky Bob ? If so, another twitter guy is not a source. I wish people understood that. A source is someone you know personally with a direct connection to the White Sox who most likely works for the Sox year round, not a peanut vendor .

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
I'm hoping Moncada,Eloy ,Mazara, Abreu , Grandal all hit 30+

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Whoever is injured less. Might be a good poll question . Or list the Sox HR leader next year 1 through 5. With Eloy, Moncada Abreu Mazara, Robert, Collins and Grandal that's a lot of potential HR's. But to answer your question I hope it's Robert having more beating Mazara 35-34.

Sox acquire Nomar Mazara for Steele Walker
Mazara has also had a right thumb injury the last 2 seasons. The question remains if that is behind him. 2018 he sprained it and missed 26 games in the half half after he was looking like he was breaking out. Late in the 2019 season the same thumb started hurting again just a few days after the trainer had asked him if he was having any problems with it and he said didn't have problems with it all season. 3 days later it started hurting again to the point it was so swollen he couldn't even get his glove on. He did not play the rest of the season and also missed some time in Sept. with a strained oblique. Remember when everybody was so concerned when Luis Robert wasn't showing any power because he had thumb problems then 2019 happened. That thumb being hurt again late in the season is worrisome but hopefully the Sox did some due diligence on it and have ways to keep it from reoccurring and can get Robert like results.

Ryu to Jays - 4 yr/80 mil
I think a few teams will go 4 . After that it's the AAV and location preference .
