  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Feb 18, 2009 -> 02:57 PM) http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/basebal...0,4840838.story The deal is finalized. Per ESPN ORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Brian Roberts has signed a $40 million, four-year extension so he won't have to worry about being traded anytime soon, nor will money be an issue in the foreseable future. The Baltimore Orioles second baseman already was due $8 million this year and would have been eligible for free agency after the World Series. His new deal calls for salaries of $10 million annually through 2013. The 31-year-old Roberts played in 155 games with the Orioles in 2008. He set a team record with 51 doubles and reached career highs with eight triples and 181 hits. He is a two-time All-Star entering his 11th season with the organization.
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Feb 20, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) The tradition lives. Has anyone ever called IT to report this "issue"?
  5. QUOTE (supernuke @ Feb 17, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) I am ready to defend my League 2 championship from last year. And I'm ready to defend my League 4 title...
  6. QUOTE (Jimbo's Drinker @ Feb 15, 2009 -> 05:58 PM) I mean Duke just has to fall and they call fouls on BC. If Duke were to lose and not drop below the top 12, this voting is corrupt. the latest polls have Duke #9 on both AP and ESPN/USA Today Illini jump to #18 on AP http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings
  7. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 16, 2009 -> 01:46 PM) I will lose it... I will emotionally lose it if we land Amare AND J-Rich. Hell, I'll lose it if we land Amare. I heard a rumor that we might be getting Steve Harnden-favorite Matt Barnes in the deal as well. IT REALLY SOUNDS LIKE THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN, SO IM REALLY GOING TO BE PISSED WHEN IT DOESN'T. I agree with you...getting my hopes all high and just crashing when this doesn't get done. By the way, i love your new sig, it's high comedy.
  8. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 09:16 AM) Last June was at the Cell, as is this May, he was talking about playing on the road in Pittsburgh, which we did in 07, havent since then. Ah yes, i did misread retro1983hat's post. However, this does mark the 4th straight year the Sox play Pitt. It would be nice to start a new trend where the Sox play in Miller Park for a few years in a row.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 10:08 PM) We didn't last year and we don't this upcoming year. Oh really? Then what do the initials PIT stand for? Cuz we played that crazy PIT team last June 17-19, and this May 22-24.
  10. This is great; gotta remember to nominate it for 2009 Thread of the Year
  11. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 3, 2009 -> 09:22 AM) Rough coupla days for the ol' fantasy team... Bynum goes down and now CP3 is going to have an MRI. Not good. Paul is listed as day to day with a mild groin strain
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 2, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) Kobe's going to put up well over 50 against the Knicks when it's all over. .....and Kobe sets the new Madison Square Garden record with 61 points....
  13. Onedude, those both look awesome. Would you mind creating one for me with Quentin and Danks?
  14. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jan 29, 2009 -> 06:41 PM) Can not wait for Killzone 2 I just this on Slickdeals.net; its not much, but will save you a few bucks
  15. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jan 28, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) I hate the refuse payment system they use in the western burbs. The use of garbage stickers in the western suburbs for paying for waste removal. The idea that every single bag of garbage or leaves needs have a 2.75 sticker on it is a joke. Tell me about it. And what's even worse is when they STILL won't take the garbage that has the sticker. Last summer, i was getting rid of the sand from our pool filter, so i put it in a garbage can and slapped a sticker on it, and they never took it the can. Did the same thing the next week, still didn't take it. I understand it's heavy, but it does not state a weight limitation on the sticker.

    Superbowl Food

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 08:42 PM) I'm going to make a Buffalo Chicken Dip. First, boil chicken breasts (season if you want to with salt and pepper though it doesn't pick up much flavor in the water). While that's boiling, combine 1 part chunky bleu cheese dressing, 1 part cream cheese, and 1 part heavy whipping cream in a sautee pan and mix them together...that should take about 3 minutes. The chicken should be about done by that time...drain it, and from there, shred the chicken and mix in a sizeable amount of Frank's Red Hot (or whatever other buffalo or hot sauce you want to use). Portion that into a porcelain dish of whatever type, and cover all the chicken with the bleu cheese mix. Bake in a 350 degree oven until the bleu cheese spread on top browns, and then cover with shredded cheddar jack cheese. Let that melt and bring out of the oven to cool for like a second. Eat it with chips - I like Doritos but just regular tortilla chips works too. It's so f***ing badassedly good. And if you have fears about the bleu cheese, you can't even taste it, it's just so delicious. I had this at a party last year and it was amazing. It's so damn addicting, too.
  17. I'm pretty sure that Staples does this, too.
  18. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 08:33 AM) Cool Kids "Pennies" I always have to add in the "2K" and "sports" when listening to this song thanks to NBA 2K9.
  19. QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 06:51 PM) I was watching the Baseball Seasons special on MLB Network about the '01 season. Am I the only one who was so freakin happy the D'Backs beat the Yankees? 9/11 or not, I still hate the Yankees. I was happy in 2001 and am still happy in 2009. I don't care if the city needed it, I REALLY don't like the Yankees. If they had won, I don't think we would have ever heard the end of it... I also watched this on Sunday and relived the awesomness that was the 2001 World Series. I hate the Yankees, but it was pretty cool how they came back to win back to back games when down 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th. Of course, it was even better to see Mariano blow the 7th game. In my opinion, this series was definitely the most entertaining non-White Sox series that i remember watching.
  20. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 25, 2009 -> 01:12 PM) Eddy Curry's ex-girlfriend found slain. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090125/ap_on_re_us/two_slain_1 Curry sure has had a rough year. Between the robbery last year, the limo driver ordeal, and now this....poor guy. It's like someone is out there to get him.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 26, 2009 -> 07:54 AM) Kaner even got denied in the All Star Game. When will this slump end? What do you mean, he scored the 11th goal for the Westerns.
  22. My pre-season Super Bowl picks were Steelers vs Saints. Go Steelers
  23. I worked part time at Best Buy years ago while still in college. While the pay wasn't good, I had a blast because the staff was a young crowd, with most people either in college or high school. And nearly 10 years later, i'm still friends with a bunch of ex-Best Buy coworkers. Well since i was getting paid crap money, i decided to jump ship and go work for Circuit City. They offered commission, and with summer around the corner, i was told by management that i'd make a pretty penny that summer selling Air Conditioners. Well, it was a pretty mild summer, and i didn't pull in nearly as much as i expected. But the pay wasn't nearly the worst of it... The place was practically a ghost town during the day, and didn't get much better in the evening. And since we were commission only, every department would be overflooded with workers; if you weren't quick enough to jump on a customer, then you were screwed. You could go hours without helping a customer; there were some days that i'd go home making less than $10 in a day..ouch. I remember one time i was able to sit between a tv display on the sales floor and watch the entire movie Ants without a customer. The place was just dead. And don't get me started on how dark that place was....the only outside light coming into the building was the front entrance; i could never tell what was going on with the weather outside. And, most of the staff seamed like they were 40 or older. Here i am, twenty years old, working with a bunch of grumpy older people who were as depressed as i was. I only lasted a few months at that place, and i'm kinda surprised i didnt leave sooner. I never understood how they were able to stay in business for so long; when you add up the pushy (and lying) salesmen, the gloomy atmosphere, and really no price advantage over the competition, it just never made sense.
  24. Looks like the deal is official now The White Sox and Colon have agreed on a one-year, $1 million contract, the club announced Thursday. Under terms of the deal, Colon is eligible to earn an additional $2 million during the 2009 season based upon innings pitched. For that price, it's well worth the risk. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/news/artic...sp&c_id=cws
  25. Even better....save yourself some cash and get a Cell Mate
