That happened to my buddy here in St. Louis. They not only had a picture, but video of the incident that he could watch online so there was no point in fighting it.

The Carlos Quentin Activated from DL
QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) Cowley was on the Score a little while ago and among other things said that both Anderson and Wise played hard but "one was playing hard just to be here while the other guy was playing hard so he could be somewhere else and the organization knows this." Another thing he said which shows you how much credibility Cowley has was that defensively speaking Wise isn't that far behind Anderson. What does this mean?

Films Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) I've always found that evaluating this sort of film based on "What was left out from the book version" always, always makes the film look worse. Special efforts should be taken to try to evaluate those sorts of movies based on the quality of the film itself, because otherwise you're always left wanting. The only way to turn that much literature in to live action would be probably a 20 hour miniseries on television. Yeah, I know they couldn't include everything and obviously haven't in the other movies. But

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 20, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) I actually liked the new Harry Potter. I also went at 10 PM in Chicago, so the crowd may have been different. I mean it wasnt earth shattering, but I think it set up the final 2 movies. Ive never read the books. They left out some pretty big parts of the book.

Getting the gang together
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 05:36 AM) And Anderson started the next 4 games in CF after that. So let's stop blaming Ozzie for the bad baseball player that is Brian Anderson. That's sooooooooooo 2006. Funny, I don't remember mentioning either of their names.

Getting the gang together
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 01:12 AM) I loved Mack in 2006. I thought he was a fantastic addition. Not his fault he was put in a terrible position because Brian Anderson turned into smallz from the Sandlot. Are you trying to stir s*** up around here? Mack started the 2nd game of the season in CF.

The Military
Joining the navy does not mean you will be on a boat. They have bases in places like Ohio, Tennessee, and Nevada. If that is the main attraction, find a job on a fishing boat or something.

All Star Fan Fest
My girlfriend's dad got some tickets to the All Star Fan Fest this weekend and I was wondering what to expect. Only thing I know for sure is that Luis Aparicio will be there and I think I can get his autograph and maybe a picture with him.

Books Thread
I just found a book called And The Hippos Were Boiled In Their Tanks, which was co-written by Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs in 1945, 10 years before either became very well known and was just published in 2008. Each author is a character in the book and they alternate chapters telling the story from their point of view. I just started it, so I don't know if I like it, but I thought the whole concept and the fact that it sat on a shelf for over sixty years is pretty amazing, considering the success the two men achieved years after it was written.

Lou Pinella wins something
QUOTE (Texsox @ Jun 30, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) You are welcome. Saved you a suspension. You may not know this but we have adults and women who read these threads, people who log on while at work. Are his posts somehow worse than the dick sucking and ass-raping being discussed in the SLAM thread?

How is Gavin looking?- How Important Is a Sweep of the Bucs?
QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 22, 2009 -> 02:58 PM) When you are 6.5 games behind and just got shellacked 20-1 I think it is important to start winning all the ball games you can, if you really want to compete for that title Fortunately 20-1 counts the same as 2-1, but yes it would be nice to start winning some more games.- Video Game Catch-All Thread
