White Sox @ Tribe Game Thread (4/14, 6:05 p.m. CT)
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) What? When has Cotts ever been good for us? Let him figure it out in the minors. Neal's a major league pitcher and he's proven that, the only reason to ever send him back down is for when the sox decide to use him as a starter if that ever happens. Personally I think he had Hafner struck out which changes the whole complexion of the inning but either way we're 9 games into the season, the sox are 6 and 3 and you already want to get rid of two key players for this team, gotta settle down a bit.

If Carl is sidelined with his injury...
QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 09:06 PM) That is where Rowand needs to be, hitting 7 in front of Crede, He is never going to get s*** to hit.. Good thing he hits 6th in front of AJ and everyone needs to layoff Joe, seriously.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) Cotts can get MLB'ers out at times but he gets behind in the count, gets wild, walks guys, and gives up runs. He's not the answer either. Are you going to want to get rid of a guy everytime he has a bad game or makes a bad play?? Cause it sure seems that way.

.200 is remaned from the "Mendoza Line" to........
Ugh, these threads are disgusting. Joe's looked pretty good at the plate lately but I guess unless he hits .300 some people are just alway's going to have it in for him.

And That's a White Sox Winner!
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2004 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Man, I absolutely love our bullpen. For the last two years i've had no faith in anybody outside of Marte, Shingo, And Gordon in 2003. Now we've got 4 if not 5 guys that we know can come in and do the job. It's a great feeling. Honestly for me with Cliff getting his slider over right now, I basically have faith in anyone we put into the game, that's an unbelievable feeling.

And That's a White Sox Winner!
QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:47 PM) When he's fully mature, he'll be just about ready for retirement. Ha. Maybe maturing isn't the right word but I mean he's definitely pitching smarter, he still has control issues but in these two starts and the starts I saw him pitch in the spring he's using his fastball much, much more then he did last year.

Gio dealing in first game of Kanny DH - 4/13
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 06:30 PM) I don't know what I like more -- his high strikeout totals or the real low walk totals. Both are very, very impressive... For me it's the very low walk totals. Like you said both are quite impressive but to find someone who just came out of high school and is as young as he is to have that kind of control is almost impossible to do. If he stays healthy he's going to be a good one.

And That's a White Sox Winner!
I was thinking the same thing with willie replacing aj, I also wanted Timo to pinch hit for Crede in the 7th not because I have anything against Joe because like I've been saying he's looked much better at the plate lately but I just thought that was a perfect situation for Timo. I'm very happy ozzie stayed with Joe there now, that's why he makes the f'n lineup As far as Jose goes, he couldn't throw a strike in the first few innings but some how battled and kept the team and himself in the game, if this is last year with Contreras I think that game could have got ugly very quickly but he seems to be maturing more and more. Also what can you really say about the pen, Damaso looked exceptional as did Viz and Hermy, fantastic job by those guys.

Podsednik news....
QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 08:34 PM) I think they just might mean faster. No, they mean if his game wasn't based around his speed then he would have played.

Podsednik news....

I guess the groin is still bugging Scott a bit or they're just being careful with him which would be smart, anyways: ozuna lf iguchi 2b everett dh konerko 1b dye rf rowand cf pierzynski c crede 3b uribe ss

The "Joe Crede Support Group"
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:17 PM) At best, Ozuna is an excellent bench guy, but not good enough to be an everyday player. Think Ross Gloadish. DBAHO, don't get me wrong I wasn't suggesting Ozuna to start or anything cause at this point that's ridiculous, I was just saying that Ozuna did rake in the minors, that's all.

Eric Milton.
QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) and pick up who? Danny Wright, Jon Rauch maybe? Seriously though, Milton's awful.

The "Joe Crede Support Group"
QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:12 PM) To the fella suggesting that Pablo Ozuna should be starting over Crede, consider that Ozuna is pretty much Triple A fodder while Crede has been a MVP at two different levels in the minors. Had Ozuna not raked the ball in Tucson, he wouldn't even be on the team. I'll support Crede because he plays hard and puts in the effort. As long as I see that from any player on the Sox, I'll be a supporter. I wouldn't call Ozuna a aaa fodder, he raked in the minors, the problem is he aged a bit in one day. Most of us can agree though that it's ridiculous for people to be suggesting starting changes after 7 games.

Ozzie Guillen and his tinkering
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) And we're winning, so every1 be happy. Ha, I'm afraid to see what this place is going to look like when the sox have a two game losing streak. Could be pretty scary.

The Top 25: 10-6
QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:52 PM) I thought the roid suspensions were made public? Before this year usually the minor league steroid suspensions were kept within but that obviously changed with the 38 minor leaguers that were made a public a week or so ago.

Twins and White Not a Factor in the Central?
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) well yeah no arguing that, but this is a big learning year for them.... Berroa, Dejesus, Buck, Teahan... whose their 2B Gotay?? All those are young guys and with a year under their belt will be much improved next year... I just wonder if they will be able to unload Mike Sweeney this year. Ya, Gotay is their 2nd baseman, I personally think he's going to be a good player, he didn't really put up great numbers in the minor leagues but he's got a short and quick swing and a live bat. I think he's going to be a good player but that's jmo.

Twins and White Not a Factor in the Central?
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 07:15 PM) Idonno the Royals pitching staff isnt as bad as you make it out to be.. Hernandez and Greinkie are both good pitchers, Anderson and Lima are both avg. pitchers would be our number 5's but they can pitch a good one here or there... dont know their last pitcher. Lima and Anderson wouldn't crack the rotation of the sox. I agree though Hernandez and Greinke are both solid pitchers and bautista ain't bad either. I don't see Runylves(sp?) making it through the whole season and it'll be interesting to see the growing pains of Greinke and Bautista. KC is an improved team because their starting pitching is definitely better, however they're still finishing in the cellar by plenty of games.
