Cannon to 15-day IL, Caleb Freeman up from Charlotte
Sure. Every team has issues just look around the league. They may have more than others but they aren't alone. To say its only the white sox and that they should ignore everything players say is just wrong. If a players says he's fine, what tests do you perform, strength, facet, nerve tension tests? You can only tests where there may be some issues. Eventually, the players have responsibilities as well. What happened here was he had some issues, they gave him extra time, he thought he was good to go, pitched, didn't recover well so they are now giving him more time to recover.

They drafted his replacement as they knew this was coming.

If a player says he's fine, what would you do? Send him to the hospital for all of the possible tests? The medical experts on this board amazes me.

Column on "rebuilding"...
On the money spent throughout the minor? Ill have to look for them. I'd really like to see exactly what they are doing at each level and the biomechanics lab. Ive heard rumors about what the lab is like. It's pretty impressive apparently.

Didn't he skip a day with a back issue?

Again, I haven't seen this actually stated anywhere. And I don't recall them ever spending money on development of the minor leagues. They've never had a consistent development plan for the system. This is why they've never consistently developed players.

2025 MLB Draft
Wolkow is what 19 or 20 and you are writing him off already. Patience isn't your strong suit.

I don't think this is accurate. They have spent a great deal if money in areas where they never have in the past. Upgrading the equipment throughout thr minors, building and staffing a big biomechanics lab in Arizona, renovating the entire DR complex. All things needed to actually develop players. If the minors start to develop good players, thats when the payroll should go up to fill in the pieces. They could have signed 2-3 big free agents and this team would still be bad.

Sure it does. One good year does not a career make. Let's see where they are if they don't pay a massive contract to Tucker.

“The 78” is Dead Part XIV, Viva La Canal's Edge!
That is the important point. If they privately finance the stadium, there is a massive debt. Less money for operations and payroll until external revenue begins. That's the only reason to move within the city.

Agreed. Unless the current stadium deal changes to be worse for him, I don't see him moving.

It was mostly JR. It shows if he really wants to move, he is willing to do it. I don't think he'll do it unless yhe current stadium deal changes. He has too many advantages. Unless he really thinks he can go somewhere else to make more money.

So did JR.

You do know that he will build one on his own if he has to? He's done it. But good business is using others people's money if you can. I wouldn't give him any but I don't blame him for trying.

2025 MLB Draft
Yep. Even if it's a pitcher. As we've seen this year, teams can never have enough pitching.

Vaughn/Elko updates...
That would be ideal.

Jac Caglianone
One of the podcasts had an interesting take on Vaughn. Look at the advanced batting metrics now with bat in the zone and such, they said that he would not have been in the first round today.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
Yeah, it was tough to trade him earlier due to health concerns and now due to lack of production. He wasnt going to get much of a return and probably still won't. He sure doesn't seem to be worth the 20 million option either way.

Do you think that JR is going to allow anything significant to happen next year eith the strike/lockout coming in 2027?
-
Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I dont think its that easy to improve with the quality of players on the team guys like amaya and the hist of bad outfielders had been getting significant playing time. True they are near last place but last year they were in last place. By nearly all metrics they have improved. And with the quality or lack thereof of players on the team that pretty good. Unless you think that Getz has gone out and gotten better players, improving the hitting stats of a bunch of bad players is a pretty impressive feat.

Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
So you believe that a coach isn't successful unless they help and improve 100% of the players? Some people are just stuck in their own dogmatic way of looking at things and refuse to look at any other objective views and thus refuse to learn. Oh yeah, not all players are open to learning from coaches either. Instead of looking at the six compared to the rest of the league, we know the Sox have awful players, look at the Sox rankings last year compared to the rest of the league and the Sox rankings this year compared to the rest if the league. I bet you'll see as a team they've improved in most categories.

Well he is infallible just like the Pope so obviously everyone can be cured. That fact that you have to start picking on specific players as opposed to the entire organization and the whole system makes me think you are getting nervous.

5/30 Sox at O's. 330 start
That's why a couple weeks ago I started to parlay a Sox loss with a rockies loss. The odds are a little better with nearly the same winning %
