  1. We all know that JR is very good and loyal to his people. It’s no surprise that people who left his sphere in good standing would continue to carry water for him.
  2. They can’t break it in the first series against the Angels. They’d only be at 120 if they lost every game up to that point. That being said, I am refraining from voting because I’m superstitious.
  3. Thanks for reminding me of my incorrect predictions, @Bob Sacamano!
  4. Do they even have a PR firm? I feel like that is one of those unnecessary costs in JR’s cheap-ass handbook.
  5. I’m just trying not to get my hopes up. I want this record. And I want it to be shattered, if possible.
  6. But they’re actually a good team. The A’s and Angels are two of the worst teams in baseball. I could see a couple wins in there.
  7. Eh, they still have the A’s and Angels coming up. I could see them winning as many as 4 games between those series. They are out of contention too. Of course the Sox could get swept by both. 😆
  8. Eh, damn. I’m officially old and can’t insert a gif.
  9. Is that an all-time record or team record? Gotta get our future DH some swings. And I may not be talking about Sheets.
  10. That list: Skip Schumaker S. Schumaker Skip S. Jared Schumaker J.M. Schumaker
  11. In a sense, it was actually better to see them win ugly yesterday than if they rolled. It shows that the team is able to win even when they shouldn’t. The defense picked up the offense, and it’s likely to happen in the opposite direction at some point. The offense will clearly get better (barring injuries). Since the future HOFer David Carr, I believe.
  12. That one hurts. Clearly a great actor, but more importantly, he was reportedly a very kind and good person.
  13. Don’t worry, it’s Notre Dame. They’ll still get into the playoffs somehow.
  14. The crux of it revolves around trading him, about which we know your opinion.
  15. To be fair, this franchise has been mediocre to bad far more often than it has been good. And this season is clearly terrible. So the pessimistic/realist viewpoint has been, in my opinion, the correct take much more often.
  16. That’s the other thing about the eternal optimist posters. They will argue all day for months/years about a player (or manager, etc.). You can throw all the stats, player history, and personal observations at them. They will argue that it’s too early, you gotta give it time, the coaches/management know what they’re doing, etc. And when the player/manager is designated for assignment or cut or fired, they still won’t admit to being wrong. It’s always, “oh, so sue me for wanting a guy to do well and not just shitting on everything the organization does.” Anyone who’s been here for an extended amount of time has seen it a thousand times.
  17. I did know about the analytics department, but I thought it was both that and scouting in which they were very low or the lowest.
