  1. Not going to lie, this does stay in the back of my mind when it comes to giving Jr multi-hundreds of millions of dollars.
  2. I am not even sure why this article was written. Until Smith and Schultz show they are ready, there is no one in the system who is close to the majors who needs to worry about an extention.
  3. Is there some mid level bureaucrat from a failing portion of the business that I can promote without interviewing anyone else?
  4. Look man, you can mock everyone who has seen the last 45 years of ownership, complete with every lie to the fans, every broke promise to the base, every company line planted to the eager faithful parrots, and every single vow to be different, and eat it up. That's fine. You absolutely should not be surprised by those who have seen this exact same behavior in the past and who have learned a healthy skepticism from it. Some of us will wait for results before declaring everything fixed.
  5. And the Paddy hire was going to fix the international problems which hadn't been fixed since Wilder...
  6. 4 BB/9 IP across MiLB years. That number pushed to basically 5 in the high minors.
  7. Oh hey, the Sox caught up to the 2010s. That's so incredible!
  8. Especially knowing that Getz has a full reign over his position and apparently did none of the things he needed to while development completely failed under his watch.
  9. I guess it gives us another guy to trade for the next old reliever.
  10. A 22 year old reliever in A ball is a total win? Well that explains a lot.
  11. That would be the major inconsistency in this story.
  12. If he had zero protection in 23, he had negative protection in 24.
  13. They knew this was a rebuild. They knew they would be in last. But they were scared to trade Robert. Yeah, that isn't better.
  14. And we never heard a peep about him being available and/or marketed as a trade candidate. If the contention is that Getz was too scared to trade him, but also knew that this was a complete teardown both at the same time, so he held on to Robert knowing full well he wasn't in the window and at the same time a large historic injury risk, that doesn't make things better. Being scared to do the right thing isn't a good thing.
  15. That's a thought, but the actions of Chris Getz tell a different story. He acted like a guy who was thinking he could win again sooner than later, the Robert non-trade being of them.
  16. There are a million differences here to be honest. The wild thing is the Magglio Ordonez contract signed in 2004 would still be tied for the biggest contract in White Sox history, so no, we aren't going to spend out of this.
  17. The third option was to gamble on his health. Again that is a terrible option.
  18. Coming off of a career year in terms of both production and health if you really believed this was a long rebuild situation there was zero reason to not move Robert. His health being exactly why.
  19. Either he knew this was a rebuild and kept Robert, or he thought he could do something in 2024 and the immediate future that made keeping Robert worth it. Either one isn't good.
  20. You have at least this year and next to go. Longer if this front wave of prospects fails.
  21. I know that you know sports better than this, which is why I believe you are trolling us. Say you have a roster of walk ons in the Big 12 going to play at Phogg Allen. Is that a win now team? That's what we are the professional version of.
