March ******* (Basketball Thread)
The women's event being able to stand on it's own makes it more likely to remain separate because they can profit from both

Jose Rodriguez Traded to Phillies for $
Well then he has a lot in common with Leone.

You need guys like Leone to have a 130 loss team and not vice versa.

4/5 Games!!
4-5 good years before age 30 is the definition of sustained success in 2024. Having a 20% above average ERA for your non-"prolonged" career, including 7 of 10 + 100 era+ seasons is getting all of the controlling years of a $15m/yr SP (2nd or 3rd rotation slot) for minimum and arbitration prices. For the Sox that means getting all of their good and cheap years before they become a free agent or get traded. He will most likely be long gone before your theoretical collapse. While you always hope for Hall of famers, if you get that out of Thorpe, that's a win for the Sox.

I don't actually believe that is true.

Getz and Pedro should go. Product on the field is horrible.
With a list valuation of $2.05b, that's probably an accurate open market sales price. Cash option for the powerball after taxes is probably something like $400 million.

You could win the entire powerball and take the cash option, and still not have enough money for even a majority share of the White Sox. Not even close.

4/5 Games!!
11 year career. 119 career ERA+, 3.53 era. 2 full seasons with an era over 4, and 3 with an ERA+ under 100. We should be so lucky.

Jose Rodriguez Traded to Phillies for $
It is relevant because we lost Rodriguez to get Clevinger.
-
Getz off season acquisitions have been awful so far.
I will be honest, I fully believe that Getz knew what he was getting with this group. Guys to fill a position and not rush the guys who you think will be taking over in the near future. Guys who show up and work hard every day to give solid examples to learn from for the next generation. They weren't really supposed to put up stats. It's Clevinger I don't get.

4/5 Games!!
You called a pitcher becoming Kyle Hendriks a worry, and another prospect a problem because he was too short and I am trolling? You might be too fragile for this.

Luis Robert right hip flexor injury
Same injury as '21.

4/5 Games!!
This is the kind of analysis I have come to expect.
-
4/5 Games!!
Not sure why that is a worry. An all star front line pitcher would be pretty nice.

Dumber and dumber.

White Sox bring Mike Clevinger back, pending physical
That's just wild.

2024 Catch-All Thread
I was actually at Seton Hall for a college visit with the oldest kid. We noticed it and wondered what happened. Felt like being next to a heavy freight train. Looked it up and found it on the USGS page.

Sox @ KC Royals 4/4/24 6:40 central start
The funny thing is 1-7 (.143) actually improved our RISP from 3-25 (.120) to 4-32 (.125)

Grossman up, Jimenez over, Speas out
Saves a call up. You can only be sent down 3 times in a year before you hit waivers.
-
The moment this all started
I know I don't follow the other 29 teams as closely, but I can't recall a situation where an entire team regressed as fast as it did.

The moment this all started
The hire of Tony changed everything.

Grossman up, Jimenez over, Speas out
With as bad as Speas has been, this isn't the worst time to sneak him through.
