Jason Benetti & Steve Stone back - options picked up
Dick Allen replied to South Side Hit Men's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think Len would take the TV gig in a second if they also let him do radio during the playoffs. Pat Hughes isn't going to be knocked off. Connor McKnight? Easy call. -
It is amazing how the Sox always seem to have a pretty high slot in drafts that ultimately sucked.
-
I still think Madrigal can be a decent player if he could stay healthy. That's a pretty gigantic if at this point.
-
As far as I'm concerned, it's better than spending pick #13 on Courtney Hawkins, and he supposedly fits the profile of what you are supposed to draft. I just want them to get guys that help them win, no matter what the position. And relievers are pretty valuable these days. Much more than car salesmen.

The guy can't hold up as a reliever. How is he going to hold up as a starter?

2023 MLB offseason signings and rumors thread

Been watching MLBN lately. O'Dowd seems to think Lopez is a pretty big injury risk. The Twins rotation is pretty good right now, but they really don't have an ace. Quite a few #3 guys though. -

If I'm trading Arraez, I'd want more than Lopez. -
I laughed when Steve Stone insisted Lynn did everything he could to pitch 200 innings, including being in top physical condition. I think Steve knows the game, and sometimes he is really good. But he thinks the audience is just a bunch of total idiots.

I wonder if Shelley will be putting guys with 1-2 counts on first base. -
They sell SUX stuff outside of Wrigley, but then again, Cubs fans don't even think about the Sox. LOL.

This change wasnt just a whim after struggling. A biomechanics assessment this offseason revealed misfiring in his delivery, and a throwing program reintroducing plyometric balls with focus on “getting everything back in sync, my whole kinetic chain” is going well. He's got his kenetic chain in sync. Look out AL.

You only have at most 10 months to worry about Gio as a White Sox.
-
He’s been working with som pretty advanced things. I wouldn’t be too nervous. He wouldn’t change if it didn’t make him better. BTW, they had Eloy on MLBN today. He looks good. Yonder Alonso was interviewing him. He looks 70 lbs. lighter than Yonder.

Which is reminiscent of the team's strategy before the rebuild. Mired in mediocrity. Hahn was correct about something. Having the same fools in charge, doing the exact same thing, shouldn't surprise anyone. If they were serious about winning, RH and KW would have been shown the door. -
I've never really understood these fake insiders. Maybe you get something from someone once and you post it, and you get enough people to think youre an insider, but if you really aren't, what's the motivation?

Soxtalk is out as much as Sox core players.

Sox with "plenty of money" left in Jan 15 international pool
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
International signing day turns out to be just as exciting as the trade deadline and Winter Meetings for White Sox fans. -
I think the issue is if Grandal can't bounce back and at least be a regular, is Seby and his mostly impossible to maintain numbers good enough to be a regular. Is Perez ready to be a regular. Chances are, the answer to those questions is no. I

Great, another talking point for RH. -
Luis Robert comes up lame the last week of Spring Training, who plays CF?
-
I know he has supposedly improved defensively, but why not sign a guy most likely cheaper, who pitchers love to throw to? I though the Sox could use a guy like Barnhart earlier. Stolen bases are about to become more prevalent, he would have been a better use of resources than Sanchez. It has to be BS.

Lightning in a Bottle; Sox have amazing year?
Dick Allen replied to greg775's topic in Pale Hose Talk
There obviously is time to make moves, but to me, I don’t know why fans should be excited. They weren’t good enough last year, lost their best player and leader, and at least 3rd best starter for nothing. Replaced the starter with a more expensive question mark. Signing Benitendi seems good, but I hope they really don’t think he’s the savior for which they are making him . Pedro has to be better than Tony, I ll give them that, but relying on the rest of the roster to remain healthy let alone have big time bounce back seasons? How baked is Hahn? -
A quote which will live in infamy. BTW, the big market White Sox mlb.com beat writer referred to Benintendi as a whale. I guess the seat has been removed.

I don't think these will get snatched up as fast most nights. It's not a location upgrade for most. And for those it is, a $13 beer may be a little more than they want to spend.
