  1. Buerhle's keeping it close. The Sox will score soon. I think this inning.
  2. I don't understand why hitters refuse to constantly step out of the box on Buerhle. He pitches so quickly, you have to try to throw off his rythm.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 07:06 PM) When he was struggling in 2006, wasn't it because he was throwing everything to the outside corner? I personally think he's a guy who usually during his career has had pinpoint control. I think when his location is off, even just a couple of inches, he's very hittable.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 07:01 PM) If the velocity stuff is legit, I'm not buying the Sox and them bumping Mark for no reason. Something is obviously wrong. I agree. Why so careful with him, but not with the other guys? Buehrle made only 3 starts last September, was pushed back in spring training and pushed back a game in the first 2 weeks of the season. It may not be something serious, but there has to be something.
  5. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 02:47 PM) Yeah, the Sox have turned a ton of DP's, thanks to pitchers putting the ball on the ground. Saying that Uribe has been a big reason for all those DP's is asinine. Any 2B worth a damn can turn a DP. What's assinine is you thinking Uribe has nothing to do with the DPs, and thinking substituting anyone for him would get you the same results. Richar got on base at a .289 clip last year. What makes him a lock to do much better?
  6. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 02:29 PM) Thome has proven to be one of the best hitters in baseball, and whether he's slumping or not, pitchers don't forget how dangerous he can be. Uribe on the other hand has proven to be garbage with the bat, and hasn't shown any improvement. Horrible comparison. The White Sox have turned a ton of DPs. Uribe has something to do with that. Get off his back, your arguing about a guy who is currently injured taking his place. The team is in first place playing well. Uribe is garbage, but Richar with his .289 OBP last year is just going to get better and deserves to play no matter how well the team is doing. What?
  7. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 10:23 AM) most people talk about D, and Richar is no slouch with the golve. He plays an excellent 2B from what I've seen. He's average at best defensively.
  8. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 14, 2008 -> 04:13 AM) Kyle Farnsworth relieved Kyle Farnsworth twice tonight against Boston. Didn't David Cone get caught doing that in the Shea Stadium bullpen several years ago?
  9. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) :headbang Wow, that Tiger offense is scary I read that this is the third time that two granny have been hit by the Sox in a game. When and who are the other two? I don't have the answers. Hopefully, somebody else does. I do know Robin Ventura hit 2 in a game all by himself I think it was at Texas. The other one Ventura hit one of them.
  10. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 03:58 PM) Hmm, I wonder what that's like. I know. They remind me so much of the 2007 White Sox, its scary.
  11. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 12:04 PM) that was rediculous how quick he was ejected last Monday. Obviously we don't know exactly what was said, but if Ozzie argued balls and strikes, he is supposed to be ejected.
  12. QUOTE (RME JICO @ Apr 13, 2008 -> 03:40 PM) Fixed. Also, just realized the Sox have the best record in the AL after 2 weeks. At this moment, the two worst records in the AL are Detroit and Cleveland.
  13. Crede has matched his homer total from last year and is only 2 doubles short of last year's total in 1/4 of the ABs. I guess his back is feeling much better. The Tigers look defeated in the first inning. For a team thats supposed to put up 1000+ runs this year, something is horribly wrong, and if they don't stop the bleeding pretty soon, I think it will snowball into a real bad season.
  14. I hope Quentin gets real hot the next week or so. The Sox have only attempted 1 stolen base in 10 games. I have a feeling Ozzie is dying for a reason to insert Owens after a few rehab games. I say make him a pinch runner. Getting guys on base, then hitting homers works pretty well.
  15. QUOTE (joeynach @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 08:02 PM) Well if the speed is back on that makes sense, I found this very hard to believe, espeically b/c it was from some ticket rep on the team. As for its accuracy, its never been accurate, its always off in one way or the other. Still, its nice for a new age park to have new age features, including pitch speed, I would like to see pitch type too, I think they have it in Philly, SD, Cle, etc. When Bill Veeck bought the White Sox in the 70's, he actually had a clock that timed the baserunner down to first for awhile. He was a guy who was a show, and a little bit of a fraud, but he was ahead of his time.
  16. It was back on Friday night. The fonts are different on those little boards this year.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:40 PM) Probably because he's not a very good manager. The idea that 2006 was his doing is a myth. As much as I have hated on Ozzie over the years, he was far more responsible for our 2005 than Leyland was for their 2006. He took a horrible team that won 49,72 and 71 games the previous 3 years, and took them into the WS his first season. If he had nothing to do with the Tigers success, no manager in history has had anything to do with a team's success.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:26 PM) This is a really tough choice for Ozzie either way. We don't have another off day for 9 days, but Jenks has had 4 straight days off and he was getting warm thinking it was a save spot. I'm shocked by how bad Orlando has played defense so far. Can't have Jenks throwing extra pitches. How is that ruled a hit?
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:24 PM) What's the weather for tomorrow? I will be watching on WGN hopefully Cold but no rain.
  20. Do you bring in King Tut in a non save situation?
  21. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:12 PM) If Floyd pitches this way all year, KW is suddenly back to being a genius. He pitched great, but he also is the benefactor of some pretty good pitching conditions.
  22. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 12, 2008 -> 02:10 PM) This game is sure moving quick compared to last night. As someone who was at last night's game and stuck it out until the end, I concur.
  23. The Tigers are going to have to score against King Tut in the ninth. This game is over.
  24. Floyd is very lucky its not about 20 degrees warmer. 2 would have been in the seats.
