8-21 GT: Sox @ Cubs (7:15pm)
Dick Allen replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2020 Season in Review
After having to deal with the crap they put on the field the past 7 seasons, we deserve a lot of nights like this. -

If you want to make a ton of money, just fade the pregame chatter in the gamethread. -

Don’t worry, next slump, he never got a big hit in his life and he should be arrested for dipping. -

They don’t have outfield lights so it is a bit darker, plus the new lights on the South Side are premium and make these look even worse. -

Sox playoff chances sit at 100%, 3rd in AL for WS odds
Dick Allen replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You look at the AL standings, a lot of bad is going to have to happen to the White Sox for them not to make the expanded playoffs. -
If you listen to it, he sounds almost angry saying it. Like there is an imbedded hatred. It wasn’t said lightly with a laugh like he was joking. The tone seems to indicate he has a huge problem with gay people. Probably would hide behind the faith curtain for that as well.

What is the reach? If Robert could go, Delmonico would be in Schaumburg, and if they are not trusting Luis Gonzalez to play MLB games, why is he not in Schaumburg. Maybe the plan all along was to start Dunning and send him back. But I would trust him a lot more than Gio Gonzalez at this point.

He is basically the end of the line Adam Dunn right now. Maybe slightly less power, and a few less strikeouts, but pretty similar overall.

Man of faith. Not who he is. Then why oh why did he say it while at work? He didn't seem to apologize to any of his co-workers who would have heard it. But once he found out it went out on the air, and people were calling for his job, oh so sorry. Everybody screws up. I just hate these cookie cutter "apologies". What he was sorry for was being caught. I'm sure it's not the first time he's said something similar. I don't really think this should cost him a career, but it should cost him his job and maybe his Fox football job. Let some other person "of faith" take over. I'm guessing they won't say what he say. He can do the faith thing for a while. Get some sensitivity training, and then look for a new gig, and if he's the best person for the job, the next team or network should have no problem hiring him.

I saw a poll today that claimed only 44% said they would get the vaccine.

I hit yes, but meant no. Wait until next year.

We have an administration that instead of saying do what's best for the country and your community, wear a mask, rather stuck on the side of the "right" not to wear a mask and wanted to "liberate" states that locked down for the good of its citizens.

I think the problem was no one was willing to consider worst cast scenerio. And we have worst case scenerio. First we were told this isn't going to bother us at all. Then it was going away quickly. Then it was going away when the weather warmed up. Then it would be fine by Easter, then Pence said by Memorial Day, the Coronavirus will be behind us. I have been working from home since the middle of March. At first I figured 2 or 3 weeks tops and we would be back. Then our CEO send an email saying it looked like June or July until we were all back in the office. Now they said October, staggered and optional. I think many of us anticipated a governmental failure, but not of this magnitude. Our response has been one of the worst in the world. And we still have enough people who think if we just deny it exists or isn't a danger, it will go away.

I don't understand why it is not better, it seems to be messed up everywhere, but have you thought of using one of the homeschooling companies? It can be a bit pricey, but at least there would be learning, and accountability.

White Sox Appear Headed to ESPN 1000 Next Year
Dick Allen replied to chetkincaid's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Probably better off for the team, but these days, radio is so insignificant. The Sox don't make much if anything from it. -
If it is, it already cost a run.

Daniel Robertson just got DFA'd by Tampa. He has to be better than Cuthbert or Goins.
-
Gio Gonzalez especially when the beard isn’t thick, looks a lot like Ray Romano.

So we were told today that our company is going to try to re open our office on October 1. The plan is to have half the employees come in for a week, and the other half the next. As sick of working from home as I am, I think I will probably opt out for at least another month or two.

If you really think Mendick is as good or better than Madrigal, look at the bright side, you obviously feel 2B is solved, and with a better player than the Sox were hoping manned it for the next 10 years. Some on this board are crazy and putting way too much is extremely small sample sizes. It would be about April 15th, if that, had the season started on time.

Ozzie isn't very good on the Pre/Post-Game

I doubt it. It's probably a combination of bright lights and make up. -
Plesac and Clevinger Gone; For how Long?
Dick Allen replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
At least enough for Plesac to kiss his super 2 status goodbye. Apparently some on the Tribe's roster said they would opt out if nothing was done about these two. And Lindor was supposedly very outspoken within the team meeting, although he opting out was not on the table.
