As you once told me when I was calling for Hahn’s head, what difference does it make, they will just hire Getz. And you were right about that more ways than one. I don’t think any of this makes much of a difference, at least with building a good team. A correct hire at manager and whatever other positions they decide to change may keep them from setting more records for futility, but will never make them what we want them to be. For that to happen, JR would need to realize he isn’t a baseball genius, and needs something other than a yes man to make his team decent.

The point is the guy making the outside hire should have been an outside hire. We are still in the land of JR.

We can’t control anything , yet as fans I believe we have a lot to b**** about. The White Sox should actually be glad there is moaning and groaning. It shows some. A couple more years of this crap, and maybe that won’t be the case anymore.

It doesn’t appear anyone has to ability to either recognize or develop offensive talent. Since they are not going to be spending, that gives really no hope for the future. You still have to score to win. I go back to if Crochet and Fedde actually pitched closer to where they were projected, as historically bad as this team has been, they would be even worse. I don’t see them losing less than 90 games a year for the foreseeable future. They still have to score runs. Even an idiot like me who has never been paid a dime by an MLB team knew from the get go offense was a problem. How do they not see it?

I’d like to think that if JR knew the Sox would be 31-99 after 130 games this year with Gerz as the GM, he might have conducted a real search for a new GM last year. The sad thing is, I’m only about 50/50 with it. Getzs recent comments seem to negate the entire reason JR blew off trying last year.

You add up his and Vargas batting averages with the White Sox, it doesn’t add up to .200. I could be wrong, but the evidence so far suggests, Getz and his lackeys have no idea when it comes to finding offense.For the love of God, quit wasting time and fire him.

If the Sox lose, they will clinch last place in the AL Central. Probably in record time.

They won't be the Dodgers under JR. They could be the Rays or the Guardians if they could develop something. It is a far better model than the one they have used the last 30 seasons.

It still amazes me how many can't look at this soon to be 26 year old with an ERA over 11.00 in AAA, and admit, they were wrong. It was a bad trade.

I'm a little shocked it got this far. It was out of most people's minds. Getting shot at aa sporting event should be a big deal. I am shocked JR just didn't cough up the $50k to keep it out of the news.

I know this is a troll reponse, but the one time JR really committed to a rebuild and draft and development, he had the best run of success of his tenure. Of course he had to ruin it by making sure a strike cancelled a World Series. Then he went to the current model and brought in John Kruk and Chris Sabo. They could pay the best guys ,and draft better players, and over a 5 year stretch, it would be cheaper than Andrew Benintendi. But yes men rule at 35th and Shields. Kiss the ring, job for close to life. Just think how bad Rick Hahn had to be to get fired,

The best instructors. The best talent evaluators. Fixing the Latin America facilities. Using all of the international allotment instead of trading it for salary relief. Better personnel means better players.

Harry and Jimmy used to sound like a Gamethread reads when the Sox were losing. They have some old games on youtube. Do yourself a favor when you have nothing to do and turn one on. You'll laugh your ass off. No way anyone could get away with that today. They were beloved by the fans.
