If the White Sox win 88+ games the next 6 years it will be a success because every day will be enjoyable over the next 6 years. As far as Theo goes I compare him to Bowman in some regard. Had some powder to start with and got to spend on FA but could not sustain it.

The hope with Burger is he stays healthy and is a golden ticket to move at the deadline. Hes got a top 5 potential in the Sox system if he can stick at 3rd. He must have looked good this summer and fall.

He seems to be a pretty easy guy to root for and if it works out it is good story. To lose him while Seby and Yermin take up spots is my issue. Not a big issue but still an issue.

I could see Oakland taking him and it working out. A team in tank mode would take him as he is cheap and a high draft pick who has been out for a couple of years for injury. Why not take him? He is not a pitcher who had surgery and may not be the same. He has a good hit tool.

Hopefully Cairo can have a training session on the effects of the lip of the grass on a baseball. Seems like a really solid hire. This whole thing continues to point toward Jirschele taking over for 23 season. I wonder if McEwing moves back to 3B. That would be odd that TLR would not keep him around.

I do not think that contract is a steal. When was the last time he put a full season together. I thought 2020 and second half of 2019 were good but I think there is still enough risk there of injury and age. I think Madrigal is too much to give up based on Yu's age and injury history.

Exactly they gambled on the neighborhood being an entertainment destination and then poof that was all gone. They will recover as the family will prop it up for a while but Joe Ricketts is not funding Tom's hobby. The cash cow is on hold and the bills are coming due. My guess is they need to cut payroll down to about $120M just for the team. No telling what is happening with the investments around the park.

The trades that won the world series and then to try and keep them afloat killed them with the bad free agent signings.

Problem with Nagy and the play calling is his scheme sucks. Thus he scraps the whole offense and hires a new OC that installs a system then you have the whole offense similar to our time before him where it continually sucked or if it is good the OC is hired to a new team. Trading pieces gets a ton of 3rd through 6th round picks other than Smith those guys are only getting you volume.

That was my theory. He is not getting much back in return.

I agree he doesn't provide the things that the modern game looks for and as such may press to show what his talent is. I also do not think the Sox will get the value back in a trade. Nothing jumps off the page so it appears to some that he brings nothing to the team that is not easily replaced.

Why the LOL? I am not defending anyone I was just pointing out the oddness of the timing of the case and the fact that the DA had a rather bad accident and may not have been involved in the filing of the charges.

Something was odd with this case from the get go. Wasn't the DA in intensive care when the charges were filed 9 months after the incident.

The thing that will make this work for me is some humility from LaRussa. Hopefully in early December that happens after the case is settled. I was ok with the hiring not happy about a short term hire but could live with it. The Katz hire puts a positive spin on it. The thing that is still holding me back is that Hahn is still quiet on it. He is the voice of the organization. Hopefully the coaching staff announcements temper things as well. Finally....if Bauer signs and it is because of Katz and LaRussa I can live with it. I still won't be overly excited but it will work. Oddly I think Katz and LaRussa could be the conduit to make the Bauer pitch every 4th day thing happen. I'm glad they went with a 37 year old pitching coach and that gives me hope.

Isn't McEwing the bench coach? Why would LaRussa not keep him on.

I think he lets his guy do their job. Was he undercutting Duncan for 30+ years? He seemed to retain guys that were good at their job.

Makes defense attorneys wealthy and oddly the police get OT for appearing. As long as the defendant can afford the legal fees they have a good shot at getting off. Things like dissecting a police for the smallest error can get a person off if the attorney is good and in Cook County there are plenty of attorneys that make a living on this. I took a parking ticket to a hearing and won because the address was wrong as it did not have the direction of the street ( N Ashland). I was contesting the ticket because it was street cleaning and was out of town and I argued I should have gotten more than 2 days notice of the no parking ordinance. The hearing officer rejected that claim but then dismissed it on the address.
