  1. I'm an old white guy and this situation is the epitome of why this group gets the shrapnel that we do.
  2. Makes defense attorneys wealthy and oddly the police get OT for appearing. As long as the defendant can afford the legal fees they have a good shot at getting off. Things like dissecting a police for the smallest error can get a person off if the attorney is good and in Cook County there are plenty of attorneys that make a living on this. I took a parking ticket to a hearing and won because the address was wrong as it did not have the direction of the street ( N Ashland). I was contesting the ticket because it was street cleaning and was out of town and I argued I should have gotten more than 2 days notice of the no parking ordinance. The hearing officer rejected that claim but then dismissed it on the address.
  3. When Tony took a stand on kneeling, and then his dopy comment about being the judge on sincerity of the protest, he presented himself as holier than thou. That is BS but tolerable. Now he looks like a joke and every stance and position he had taken previously makes him look more foolish because of his disingenuous attitude. This is why he needs to go, he is simply put, a dick. He will be unable to lead the players and will become a shadow puppet. What makes matters worse is that we all know that Hahn is not behind this move and the team has gone silent. Had there have been good sales pitch and some rationale atonement for previous idiotic remarks I and I think the fans would be ok. When Renteria was fired there was a very clear message sent. Since that day the whole message as circled and went down the drain. Go get Bochy or Alomar and repair this thing. This is old white guy stuff at its finest.
  4. The family feel is Brooks Boyer JR has nothing to do with that. The JR regimes both allow good people to leave and retain the wrong people. They never bring in proven winners. Championships are not a fair barometer I will say there should be vastly more playoff appearances especially when you are not competing against the big money teams. Over his 40 years his organization has been lapped by every team in the division.
  5. I thought the same thing. Aren't they missing a good number of players that are sitting out the season for COVID?
  6. The thing with me is that Tony should just go away. There is nothing to be gained by this and it is making the Sox look like a clown car. Williams is never heard from any more and Hahn is the guy that is going to have to wear it as LaRussa is just a dick that does not care about a fan base and will just tell everyone to fuck off.
  7. How the hell do they not get in front of this at the hiring press conference.
  8. I think the climate will go back to presidential news not being main focus of the news cycle. Trump turned the presidency into reality tv and thus things liek the buster got out of hand. Hopefully life cools down beginning of next year.
  9. What I am hopeful for is that a philosophy is instilled that incorporates a more professional approach to hitting.
  10. I love people that cant comprehend how you can vote for GOP senators and not vote for Trump. That is essentially what should have happened in every state. I think the presidential options were very weak so keep congress split.
  11. Even if Hinch personally spoke to every person on the 40 man roster that has nothing to do with LaRussa. If LaRussa had never managed before that may be an issue but there seems to be this belief that LaRussa has not managed since 1952 and is clueless. Somehow I still believe LaRussa knows what he is doing and there are going to be some unpleasant players. If it is because he does not care about their input at this point than so be it. Do I think he should have reached out to the players, yes but that is my opinion, I do not think he really cares about them beyond if they can win baseball games. I also think that is the type of guy that team needs as they seem to be a little too carefree from time to time.
  12. I work at a school we are at 50/50 hybrid. Oddly our boiler system is old and crazy so classroom windows are always open regardless of the temperature, we have no A/C . This may actually be a benefit.
  13. Unfortunately we will have to wait and see on that. Tony has been in the game just not in the day to day grind.
  14. Dick Vermeil is another reason why this may work...he was gone for 15 years. Coaching football is much more important then baseball. He actually won a super bowl upon his return Of all the things to piss and moan about this hire, age and not managing for ten years is not two of them. Football from 82-97 changed much more than baseball has from 2010-2020.
  15. I am not disappointed that Trump lost but also not really happy to see Biden and/or Harris run the country but what I really find disappointing is how some local things played out. As with the White Sox managerial hiring. We are in a better place today than we were yesterday but I am not all that excited about it.
  16. I wonder if there was deep seeded resentment by ESPN for them leaving for WSCR years ago.
  17. Don't need to cut him just make him inactive and Ridley active. I really don't need to see Wims ever again but he can still just be inactive.
  18. I find it almost amazing especially on talk radio about how people are talking about LaRussa. I am not a fan of this move but other than trying to pry Francona out of Cleveland or looking into Bochy I'm not sure what other avenue there was. A few bench coaches may have been better but that is a roll of the dice. Maybe Ozzie would have been better I don't know. I am not certain if Bochy is bi-lingual but I think the White Sox need that more than anything in a manager with this roster. In all the angst I think some folks are losing of site of the fact the guy gets the best out of his teams. He isn't going to be here long term but watching the Sox last year I think there is a need for a person to tighten things up and he will do that. He wasn't winning with the large revenue teams and free agent signings annually. He did have superstars but he also was able to gets his talent to mesh very well. I think he will get the best out of the younger players as well as the veterans and the Sox are better this morning than they were yesterday morning. I think he will put players in a position to succeed not just roll them out there because they are veterans. I am not certain that Hahn is on board with this move but this is move that makes his job easier. LaRussa will use the talent accordingly and will have a more vocal presence in their usage. LaRussa can mange analytics, feel and his staff together to make things work. I think guys like Vaughan and Madrigal will reap greater benefits due to having more well rounded approaches. I also feel that Moncada, Jimenez and Robert can all reach superstar level. These guys will be used and managed in a manner that will get the best out of them. Tony has the voice to get players to succeed and that is what they need. Maybe Hinch and Cora could do that, who know but LaRussa has done it for 20+ years. He is a great stopgap to get the team to point C and I still hope Francona is here next.
  19. How'd it work Saturday?
  20. I have always been of the belief the more pitchers you use the greater the chance a person just doesn't have it and it can cost you. Snell was filthy. I know that's the TB MO but I dont like it.
  21. I find both candidates to be sub par and as such with probably not even vote for president or I will vote for third party candidate as I need to vote against Kim Foxx. I have voted for the winning President in every election I have voted in except 1992 which was the first year I voted. I don't think either candidate is even decent and find it sad that neither party could come up with a true candidate that I could respect. I felt the same in 2016 but went with Trump because I was kind of done with the Clinton regime.....that was a mistake....now I would love for Hillary to be the option.
  22. You start 5 OL a game and need a minimum of 7 to get through year and if they suck it becomes rather obvious rather quickly. You don't need to draft and sign a TE/WR every year which the Bears seem to do while not addressing the O line. Leno and Massie went from being average to terrible and I am not certain what the Coward experiment is all about. At this point the offense and all of the coaching staff need to evaluated and sadly I think Nagy needs to give up the paly calling or be let go if he cannot see that. Pace needs to look at this and wonder how bad Mitch really is as Foles doesn't look all that different back there. Maybe Nagy is the problem.
  23. Been offline for a couple days...this series is great and game 4 was the best baseball I recall even before B9...Sox playoffs excluded of course.
  24. The talk for the last month has been about the running game. All you have to do is look at who was drafted on the O line in the last 5 years and you see the problem. How many WR's are drafted compared to O Line.
