  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 12, 2006 -> 02:58 PM) Other than the clutch hit by Anderson, we didn't do much of anything to deserve a win today. BUT I'LL TAKE IT, now finish the damn sweep tomorrow for once and we'll be at 70 wins and be back in this race (somehow). They have the best record in baseball. You take them however you can get them.
  2. The Daryl Boston catch was the best. The cat dove headfirst into the crowd. He was parallel to the ground. Also the Brian Simmons grabs top anything on this list. They were identical to the Ryna Freel grab.
  3. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 04:01 PM) I don't mean to add on to the Broadway bashing in any way, but you can't really be serious about comparing Broadway and McCarthy. McCarthy's K/BB ratio is almost double Broadway's. McCarthy has already proven that he can be semi-successful at the big league level, not to mention AAA. We've seen McCarthy have three big league pitches. I've heard rave reviews about Broadway's curveball, but his changeup doesn't seem where it needs to be yet, and he's not doing a great job of fooling the hitters right now; he only has 100 Ks in something like 142 IP. I think Broadway has a chance to be a good #5 innings eater who can put up a league average ERA or so, but my expectations aren't a whole lot higher than that. Vazquez gets $12M a year to do this.....
  4. After this weeekend Detroit goes to Boston and KC comes here. We need to take 3 of 4 at home against the Royals. A nice 8 game winning streak puts us where we need to be for the remainder of the season. Missing Liriano is huge.
  5. We really had no business winning that game but Javy had the balls. Let's step it up this weekend in a big way and put the WC out of reach. SOX WIN! SOX WIN! Goodnight.
  6. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) well proctor just went out and kicked our ass we've played well enough in this series to believe that we have heart in our offense I agree, just not tonight.
  7. This offense has no f***ing heart tonight. That was three at bats given away. AJ swung at ball 4 twice. This inning scares me.
  8. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:33 PM) Liriano *might* be done for 06. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2546166 EPSN reported doctors were not optimistic about an 06 return shoulder and elbow issues. Looks like we miss him the next two times around at least.
  9. You know what's funny, the Twins were shut out by Ted Lilly, Boston was swept in KC and we are going toe to toe with the hottest team in baseball right now. For some reason the results of this game are meaningless to me. Javier showed some balls as did McCarthy. We are best team in the wild card race.
  10. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:20 PM) How come you use the team name for the Yankees and Sox, but city (or state ) name for Detroit, Boston and Minnesota? My guess, they only have one team in the city.
  11. Mussina at 99 pitches.
  12. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:07 PM) holy spiff! a anderson, pods rally! Bizarro world White Sox right there.
  13. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 11:02 PM) can I atleast have a summary of how ozzie got ejected jeeze you guys aren't very helpful tonight COtts put men on 1st and 3rd there was a possible DP at first that was close. Ozzie argued got tossed and B Mac put on the first real pitching display of the game to get out of a jam .
  14. Circus music is playing, Come on Jim
  15. I still don't like him.
  16. QUOTE(Jenks Heat @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 09:21 PM) I like Cintron's chnaces. Told ya.
  17. I like Cintron's chnaces.
  18. Ugh.....nice drive by Konerko the ball is really carrying.
  19. That was just bad, hanger down the middle.
  20. This f'ing ump better call it both ways geezuz.
  21. That pitch was never a strike to Iguchi nice job picking it up.
  22. All that s*** and he only threw 21 pitches.
  23. QUOTE(GoRowand33 @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 08:41 PM) a 5 day difference has nothing to do with what he did last year it would be more gradual than that if it had to do with workload I was being a smartass. He didn't pitch in the postseason.
  24. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 10, 2006 -> 08:38 PM) Early observation that Vazquez's fastball has nowhere near the life/location that it did on Saturday. He pitched deep into the postseason and it has caught up to him.
  25. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Aug 9, 2006 -> 10:36 PM) Not according to Bill Melton on the post game show. Or Harrelson. There was never a chance that ball would be caught. You should get the guy in from third with less no outs but he should have scored anyway. If the player is looking at he wall he is not in position to mkae a catch.
