World Series Games not exciting
When the final out/batter was recorded in each game. Game 1 tying run on deck Game 2 walk-off homer Game 3 winning run at plate Game 4 winning run at plate If this is boring, you are just showing some moronic media bias. I do beleive we blow it out of porportion but this shows that the game is secondary to the stars and media perception of the event. Every inning of this series was tense, every f'ing inning.

Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor
QUOTE(southsider17 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:44 PM) That's one reason I doubt it will be in Beverly. People here are already trying to crack down on the drunken revelry from the St. Pat's celebration. Abouts where are you? I'm at 91st and Winchester. I know I'm being nit-picky but it's "Beverly Area Planning Association". Mind if I ask who? Gotta love BAPA.

AM100 Radio feed...
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) Levine kept being a real jackass on air. It sort of went like -- Levine kept asking over and over and over what was the programming schedule for the next day, and Dolgin told him the schedule, and Levine kept asking. And then, after awhile, Levine goes, "I don't like how that's scheduled. That's odd." Then, Levine sort of accused Dolgin of being the one who made the "poor" scheduling; and Dolgin, at the end, says, "Bruce, I don't think on air is the place to talk about it." And Levine kept on pouring fuel into the fire. It got real -- akward, like I said. But yeah, Dolgin impressed me a lot there -- he handled himself very professionally, while Levine was a real jackass. I heard that it was about 12:15 Friday night (Saturday morning). Dolgin was very impressive the way he handled that. I was never a big fan of his but he has gotten better. His handling of Levine was awesome. Bruce looked like a complete idiot and Dolgin's handling of the matter made Levine look even worse. I must say I was on the fence until that point and his composure pushed me to his side. If not on WSCR he will land something he is getting better and better.

Jenks
I do not think that Jenks is quite ready to throw back-to-back days unless his offspeed stuff is trusted. It is good enough he just needs the confidence. That being said his outing was much better than that of Wheeler, Qualls and Lidge. I think last night's conditions made it harder to get a feel for the ball. That was why I really liked Cliff's outing. Ozzie pointed out that the ball Bagwell hit was perfectly placed and is caught 90% of the time. Aaron had him shaded toward RF. The walk was BS and the Vix hat is the old, tip your hat to the guy. Lidge and Qualls gave up bombs and Wheeler couldn't throw a strike.

Speculation On 2006 Season Ticket Base
The seats that will be sold at a greater rate are outfield. If the series goes six I will have every ticket for next season sold by attaching them with World Series tickets to friends that would go anyway. Basically I sold 5 27 game packages. I will be at games 1 and 6. It was easier to sell a ticket and 27 games for $800 then anything in box seats.

Guaranteed series tickets....
Picked mine up last night row 11 down firstbase line in outfield 11th row.

Aparicio, Jackson to throw first pitches
QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 20, 2005 -> 08:21 AM) I dont understand why you dont get Ditka to throw out the first pitch. Maybe his 20 plus appearances at wrigley for take me out to the ballgame hinder him. Also what does he have to do with baseball? I like Bo I think he brings the mentality we need. I love Luis as well.

More World Series tickets
The White Sox control the tickets. The mass distribution is conducted by Ticketmaster in conjunction with the White Sox. The Sox agreeement is Ticketmaster so they can not use a competitor like Tickets.com for mass distribution. The White Sox have to release tickets to the public (image the nightmare if all season ticket holders were allowed to buy what they wanted). This release is more smoke and mirrors than anything. They put something out there everyone thinks they have a chance but in the end, there wasn't really anyhting there. Look at how many tickets are out there on the resale market.

Who should throw out the first Pitch for game 1?
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 19, 2005 -> 06:11 AM) Minnie, and Aparicio for certain. Fisk was honored already this year, as was Frank. I don't see any repeats like that. I also don't think a former GM turned announcer will be getting a chance. Nancy would clearly be a crowd favorite if actual dyed in the wool Sox fans were at the game. Here's a name not on the list and worthy of consideration, former Governor Jim Thompson who stopped time to get a stadium deal done and keep JR from moving the team. I like Thompson too.

Win it For..
Win one for my aunt Whose son (my counsin and best friend) and dad (my grandpa and second best friend) who took me to a doubleheader against the Blue Jays in the late 70's (I was 6) and were lost much to early a few years later. I still miss them, my aunt does to. Who taught me to make a scoresheet with ruler and pencil and let's me keep it when she needs to go to bathroom. Who watches my kids becasue she wants to and likes to and puts up with more s*** then she has to. Who missed game 2 of the ALDS because of a hospital stay but is ready to roll for the WS. For my mom (my aunt's sister) who made me be a Sox fan and gave me everything I need. You don't mess with that double play combination. To their parents and son/nephew who sit atop the stadium and watch from up high. And Papa Joe, the epitome of a Sox fan

Guaranteed series tickets....
Sorry for the brief message earlier. Yesterday afternoon I e-mailed my rep directly looking to see if I could upgrade from a 27 game plan for next year to a full season with WS tickets to all games this year. A girl called today and I got through, I have to go tomorrow and pick up 2 to each of the World Series games. I also have all 81 next year in left field reserved. Total cost $5,100. Yikes, it is spilt 5 ways though. This is a great deal. The two guys were going to pay $1,000 a ticket instead they got two for game two and two to thirty games next year for about the same price. Not a bad deal. The brawl for game 7 will make Lord of Flies look like the Waltons. Good luck my friends I hope otehrs are as lucky. The White Sox are in the World Series, still brings a smile.

Guaranteed series tickets....
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 18, 2005 -> 07:36 AM) I believe they are getting a lot more deposits than anticipated. With the prices that are being asked for on the various broker sites and ebay and craigslist, the 50% deposit is going to be eaten by a lot of the people taking advantage of this offer. They figure they pay the deposit get the tickets and they still come out ahead, or others will sell the tickets at a price where they will get their deposit back and then some. Yes and the White Sox make $2K on each World Sereis ticket sold insteead of $140. People need to realize that it is a big world out there and keeping the die hards happy isn't the goal of the White Sox nor should it be we follow them when they blow. Bandwagon is where the money is and this is the target not the die-hards. I am buying a full two seat plan (usually I have 27 game plan), am going to one WS game and selling the rest to pay for what I can not afford, a full plan next year. Who pays this for me, some guy I do not know. I do know this, I will be at a ton of games next year and will spend $$$ while there. I hope the guy that buys the scalped seats has fun and I would like to thank him. Next season if they go all they way, I'll be there for every step. If they suck oh well, that is KW's fault not Brooks. Brooks will have 1.6M tickets sold in February (this year they had 800K), KW needs to make it worth the time for the fans to be there. If the tickets were sold, the 15K for the Royals would've been 30K in September.

Guaranteed series tickets....
This is genius. This puts tickets in circulation. The money is spent, if 5,000 people do this, it puts 405,000 tickets sold at the start of the season. You need a season ticket base to have the revenue and this is the biggest selling point. Our attendance dropped when season tickets went from 24,000 down to 8,000. This can take it back up to 20,000. This is ticket scalping but this organization spends on their team so I have no issue with it.

Let's talk Astros
The one thing I like is we have faced some of the front line pitchers on Houston and St. Louis (Petite, Clemens, Carpenter, Mulder, Suppan, Isringhausen). Where as they may have only seen our guys (except Hermanson) once or twice in interleague a couple of years back. Neither team runs very well (except for Taveraz) nor are their bullpens as deep as California. Their hitting is not that of Boston and more along the lines of California. How about a Mulder (Chicago native) v. Buerhle (MO native). On paper they are very similar so I think they are a toss up. Neither can be looking forward to playing the White Sox.

JON FOCKING GARLAND
WOW I always liked him. Were any balls even hit hard. WOW

Good Sox bars?
QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ Oct 14, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) Try one of those bars near 111th/Western. I'm sure they'll all be packed with Sox fans. From NW IN make your way to Western Ave from 101st to 117th pick a bar and go in. McNally's will give free drinks when anyone homers against the cubs, you get the idea. For Sports Bar 115th and Kedzie Bourbon Street, place is massive. MVP was at Cork & Kerry last Friday, great beergarden. The southside is rocking right now all Sox fans. When teh cubs were playing every bar was a Marlin bar.

Sox @ Angels - ALCS Game 3
I think the first inning will tell the tale for the Sox. If they make some noise it will be good, if not I think they fall back to the offensive crap we are used to. Pods and Dye need to do something. I hope Dye is hitting 7th, with Carl hitting 3rd. Can't believe I said this but I think Carl needs to be moved back up.

Cora dodged a bullet
I think more than anything it changed the momentum of the game. Buerhle was able to overcome it but I think the hitting did not. The problem I have is that the coaching staff in general does not prepare the team to take what the opposition gives them. With no outs why send him????? Take risks when the odds are against you. With 2 outs, send him. With no outs hold him and let Crede or Uribe bring him in. I get the feeling Cora does not see the big picture. This was the situation Uribe and Crede thrive in and could have really opened the game. Our baserunning has become embarassingly bad.
