  1. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 04:04 PM) Livan almost no-hit us last time. :/ QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 7, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Not the Sox. He was like Bob Gibson against us last time out. I know because I was at the stadium to witness that debacle.
  2. Hitters have a .339 BA against Livan this season.
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2008 -> 02:49 PM) Just don't be surprised if the new guy doesn't have them hitting .350. .250 would be an obvious improvement over the current debacle.
  4. Jeeez, Hillary really cleaned up in Michigan! It is like Obama was not even on the ballot in that state.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 31, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) If the hitting coach needs to get "s***canned" because the team got shut down by Shields and Kazmir, there should be a lot of hitting coach openings around the league. You forgot to include Sonnanstine.
  6. I just traded for Paul Konerko in a friggin' huge league (18 teams). I sent Michael Bourn (OF-Hou) I received PK I am also like 7-1 in the league for the SB category. Do you think that was a good trade, or is this thumb thing going to riddle him the entire season?
  7. Obviously if the team is in good position at the ASB (and they should be), trading Contreras wouldn't make much sense. I do believe that he is a ticking time bomb right now, and will likely blow up in the second half of the season. It seems to be a trend that he pitches well for one half of the season, then pitches lousy the other half. I appreciate Contreras and given the fact that he's a consummate pro, I do not wish to see him gone, yet my head tells me that it will be hard to watch him in the second half.
  8. I would say the Mets considering Pedro is contemplating retirement.
  9. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune....aking-us-b.html This guy has no idea what the hell he is talking about.
  10. Quentin's baserunning in the 8th inning was the highlight for me.
  11. I think that question correlates well w/ my signature.
  12. Yes, I think that really blows that Thome cannot start one game at 1B without a deleterious consequence. It would have made a lot sense to start him when they face RHP this weekend. If there is some silver lining, it is that Anderson will get some more playing time and Thome will not be sore following this road trip.

  14. I would love to see the Sox take a catcher in the first round.
  15. That would be a hilariously terrible trade. It would be like trading Danks back to Texas for Millwood.
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ May 8, 2008 -> 08:56 AM) So my question, Brian Anderson doesnt get into last nights blow out. He isn't be used as a defensive replacement. And can't make the getaway lineup. Why is he on this team again. He got into the game last night. Granted, it was after the score was fairly lopsided.
  17. My first game of the year last night! What told me it was going to be a good night was how Floyd got out of a shaky 1st in. against the middle of the Twins' lineup. Getting untouched in that inning really contributed to his confidence for each successive inning. You could really see it in how efficiently he began pitching.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 5, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) Can Josh Fields field a ground ball at second base? Only halfway kidding. I assume the answer is no. Of course, the answer is no. He must only play 3b forever. "On this issue there can a-be-a no debate!"
  19. If Mr. Roberts cannot be had in a trade, then I am all for giving Getz a chance at this point in time. It certainly wouldn't hurt, right?
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 5, 2008 -> 01:21 PM) Don't listen to Hawk. Manuel argued. He just didn't get tossed. Evidently, getting tossed would have made a world of difference according to Hawk. Hawk was a great General Manager, therefore any subsequent managerial advice given by him must be correct.
  21. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 2, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) The first thing I would do to shake up this lineup would be to trade Jerry Owens so he can never come near the Chicago White Sox locker room ever again. Preferably in a deal for Brian Roberts. With each passing game, I am becoming more in favor of seeing the Sox make a move for Roberts. Their offense is anemic and something needs to be done to shake things up. I am as big a fan of Richar as anyone around this place, but I do not think he will provide that spark whenever the hell he returns. Perhaps a deal of Broadway + Richard or Cassel + Richar could bring Roberts on board.
  22. The 0BB over 8 innings really jumps out at me. I remember last year he was walking a lot of guys.
  23. I pulled off a blockbuster trade in a yahoo league. I gave up Tim Lincecum and got Hideki Matsui and Edgar Renteria. Khalil Greene is my SS, so I really wanted an upgrade in that area. The rest of my pitching is in great shape.
  24. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 22, 2008 -> 11:18 PM) the massett/macdougal thing is just something I've been frustrated with lately. Mac's ERA isn't bad, but he has a 1.74 whip and 5 walks in 7 innings (coming into today). He blows. I completely agree and have held that belief for quite a while. Looking strictly at ERA for bullpen pitchers is misleading, as WHIP is a better indication of how ineffective those two have been.
  25. Anyone think the Rays would make Wheeler available? If MacD and Masset continue to suck, I think he would fit in nicely as a 7th inning type b/c unlike MacD, he's not a walk machine!
