QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) Ah, the worm has turned, and now Tex is staring down the barrel. Stay safe, Tex. Here's hoping Emily misses you... not that I'm wishing ill on your neighbors to the south. Just curious Tex, do you have the theme from the old Bob Newhart Show running through your head yet? [/joke grenade] For those of you who are too young or have not filled your brains with useless trivia, the Bob Newhart theme was Home to Emily

FBI Monitoring ACLU, Greenpeace
QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 06:18 AM) I'd argue that the potential for violence is greater with the Minutemen than with the ACLU. In one corner, wearing Armani suits and carrying brief cases, the lawyers from the ACLU. In the other corner, wearing Anti-Mexican t-shirts and carrying rifles and hand guns, the Minutemen. Come on DJ, you're talking crazy Now I will agree that the lawyers could cause more damage . . .

FBI Monitoring ACLU, Greenpeace
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:29 AM) I don't recall the Minutemen being involved in any violence. I guess it is all about definitions. Holding an American citizen at gun point seemed violent to me. At the minimum aren't these people similar to the anti-government "Patriots" who have attacked the US government over Ruby Ridge, Waco, and other issues? Anti-government rhetoric, taking action into their own hands, facing a threat against America and their way of life. To hide from the similarities isn't a good path to take.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) I'm now 50-50 of getting a direct hit tomorrow night I'm the sliver of green in Texas, that's green of a different meaning QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 07:14 AM) Now that's irony- Hurricane Emily
QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 07:17 AM) How strong are the predicting it will be? Last I heard it was a Category 1, but would likely restrenghthen. It is strengthening over the Gulf. Cat 2 now, expected as a 3 when it lands. We are holding our breath. Over the next 6-8 hours it should start to swing to the left (west) and bear down on Mexico, if it doesn't turn soon, I'm directly in line. Current forecasts National guys: All are pointing 50-60 miles south of me Local guys: Half are predicting a repeat of Buehla which hit the mouth of the Rio Grande. Any ideas on how to hold down a trampoline? I really do not want to disassemble. I'm laying in some Stout, figuring it's my favorite beer when warm. I have 3,000 gallons of water at the ranch and another 750 gallons in a mobile tank.- Crede
Crede looks better on this team than last year's team. He might not be part of scoring a lot of runs, but he has damn sure prevented some opponent runs with his defense. It's all about balance. If you are going to place a light hitting, great defense, player somewhere on the field, the left side of the infield seems to be a great place to do it. Ball coming at Crede and he has a bat Ball coming at Crede and he has a glove- THE WAVE

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 05:47 PM) A Texas liberal? That's an oxymoron if I ever heard of one. The border is solid Democrats. And remember I received votes for the Rush Limbaugh Award for conservative thinking. I think out of the box. Oops, that was meant for the cliche thread And s***, y'all are libs compared to most Texans- Cliches

You would think with all the playoff series wins we've had the past 100 years we would get a hell of a lot more respect. What the hell have the Yankees, Red Sox, or Angels done the past decades? To get respect you have to win something in the playoffs. Until then, we're a surprise winner.- Hurricane Emily
