  1. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) Bottoms up! Careful YAS, you know how sensitive Mrs. Steff is about bottoms
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) Nancy has been a White Sox longer than anyone has as far as I am concerned. It will be like the old ballpark closing when she leaves. To be honest, I wasn't too sad to see the old park torn down.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) I have said for years that "Na-Na" doesn't get played nearly enough. It should be played tons after HRs and pitching changes. If we want to make it a homefield advantage, these are things we should go back to. Be loud and proud! At the risk of sounding like an old-timer, the Southside Hitmen and singing with Nancy are some of my best memories. Na-Na gets me every time. It is currently on rotation at my local oldies station and I have to turn it up every time it is played. It never gets old. Roof Shots. When Nancy retires, I believe it will be a sadder day then when any player hung it up. If the team pushes her out, it will be the biggest backlash ever.
  4. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) I thought they were penis warmers... Now we know why you were arrested at that game for waving your rally sock
  5. QUOTE(mreye @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) What's with you and the polls lately? call me on my cell, we can talk about it.
  6. Experience does matter in the playoffs. Player by player we lose to the Yankees and Red Sox Teamwork and the "little things" will make a difference. Ozzie managing the pen in the playoffs has me thinking Grady Little
  7. QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) Oh boy.. another pair of white pants stained with coffee.. LMAO Tex.. you and Jim have my sides hurting the past 2 days. spill a little mountain dew and really give the office something to talk about.
  8. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) Brothers and cousins You in Indiana and him in Kentucky, why am I not surprised
  9. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:15 AM) Shut up! You're using logic. We want to be free to b**** without having to deal with that! it's what we do best
  10. I always seem to have a couple extra when the team is winning. It's more of a party.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:11 AM) The only "wave" that should be done at USCF is to get the attention of the beerman.
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 08:12 AM) Preach on, Brother! he's your brother?! that explains how you became a moderator

I was going to start a poll, but couldn't think of who to nominate besides Steff. Who is the best here at sarcastic, well placed, barbs? I happen to enjoy them, even when they are aimed at me. Come to think of it, Nuke isn't half bad either. And IIRC PA shoots a few good ones.
  14. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 09:56 AM) Hell. I wouldn't miss Steff's well placed barbs for the world. Even if I am the occasional recipient. ditto. Plus it's just one screen name to another. Being a grandma from outside Toronto when y'all think I'm from Texas makes that easier.
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 07:45 AM) The DOWNSIDE of being 12 games up??? Are you kidding me??? THIS IS THE BEST TEAM THE SOUTHSIDE HAS EVER SEEN AT THIS STAGE OF A SEASON. THERE IS NO DOWNSIDE!!!! Quit waiting for the skies to fall and enjoy it!!! What is wrong with people? The Chicago White Sox have been in exsistance for 105 years and have NEVER been better, and people are perpetually stress about what is WRONG with this team. You are missing the boat on this one. :headshake That is such a Cub fan attitude, don't worry, be happy.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) Both teams played hard. A good man is hard to find ~or~ A hard man is good to find
  18. After reading the fake perfum warning, I thought Soxtalk should start our own urban legend. With all our posters and everyone in our address books we could get one strated in a heartbeat.

QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 03:37 PM) Stormy - by Classics IV? And how about "Convoy". That song just IS a disaster.
  20. Now when Bush invites me, I got this really cool pair of western boots that I'll be wearing. Steel toes, a little cow pie still stuck to them. Make George feel right at home.

I love 4 to 5 foot waves. Great on a boogie board out at the island. The only wave I like is between innings as people head to the concession stands. Or the wave when you think you recognize someone but it isn't them and you are standing there like a dumbass trying to fake waving at someone else.
  22. I'm comfortable taking this *team* into the playoffs. We will not match up player by player with the Yankees or Red Sox. A-Rod v. Crede? Jeter or Uribe? It will be a team effort and this group of players have so far demonstrated teamwork. I also see some guys in AAA that will give a boost down the stretch and allow starters to rest and to get the starting rotation set. The key will be to arrive in the playoffs healthy and rested.
  23. Does anyone in Oklahoma City care about Cardinals - Cubs? Twins - Sox? I will say this in ESPNs defense, Red Sox - Yankees draw the viewers. They have the biggest payrolls and the biggest rivalry. They have rosters filled with All-Stars and household names. For the casual fan they are trying to attract to the telecast, it's an easy call. I don't like it, but it's the fact. Look at history. Where have the World Series winners been from? Let's go back 15 years for the Central Division of the AL and NL. 1990 Reds won 1991 Minny won 1995 Cleveland got nuked 1997 Cleveland got nuked 2004 Cards got swept East Coast teams: 17 Appearances - 11 Wins West Coast: 8 Appearances - 2 Wins Central Teams: 5 Appearances - 2 Wins Now can you see why any nationaly televised show would spend more time on East Coast teams? Plus this season, it's about the only races out there. Cards and Sox have just about wrapped up their division. The Angles shouldn't have a problem. It's basically the East Coast teams battling.
  24. Gardy must be bored way back there. Wanted to leave the game early.
