QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 07:29 AM) Never look a gift horse in the mouth. and that's straight from the horse's mouth. I figured a Kentuckian would get around to the horses.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 07:30 AM) I do have a Pavilion computer, which is why the error was pissing me off. It kept me from getting to the options you just mentioned. The motherboard has been changed from the original computer, so that may be the problem. That is the problem. The recovery disk is tied to the BIOS on the original motherboard. The motherboard *is* considered the computer, not the case, drives, etc. This prevents software piracy.
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 07:30 AM) I don't think we'd have a problem with it .... IF they entered the country legally. But don't they look like terrorists? Wouldn't they be taking our jobs? Would we allow an unlimited number? Offer them public aid? Is public aid any different than what we are giving now in terms of food, water, and military help?
  4. QUOTE(winodj @ Jul 18, 2005 -> 07:13 AM) So many jokes, so little time. Save them for next time you get locked in your apartment . . . BTW, seriously, and at the risk of sounding stupid, and hopefully not offending, but are the Cubs any more popular in the gay community than any other team?
  5. I was thinking about all the US servicement killed and the billions of dollars we are spending and wondering while we invest all this, we probably wouldn't let any Iraqi's here if they wanted to help themselves by picking our crops, building out homes, cutting our grass, etc. Seems we like our poor, huddled masses, yearning to be free, far, far away.

  8. Frank hasn't played the field much and Piazza is a toss up. I can't really disagree with that statement. I'm trying to think of who else he would have picked. CLee? Jose Valentin? I'm assuming pitchers were not considered.

  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 14, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) Just because he blog isn't in green, doesn't mean it can't be a joke. Confession, so many times in emails and other communications I look for the green and realize, s***, it ain't Soxtalk. I like her. I shared a few emails a while back and she's funny as hell. If she was a Sox fan we'd be lining up at her koolaid stand.

It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all . . .
  24. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 04:18 PM) Yeah. I think years of Clinton-era budget cuts and onerous restrictions did most of the damage. I can't wait until Nuke's in the rocking chair talking about Clinton. I guess we never should have believed Reagan and the Peace Dividend he promised after we ran up record deficits. [For the youngin's who probably never knew this. Reagan sold his record deficits by explaining we would destroy the "Evil Empire" (Soviet Union not Yankees) and then be able to cut back on defense and spy spending. ]
  25. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 17, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) Texsox, where was your concern for the criminal in this suicide attempt gone awry? He must have been suffering from mental health issues, right? http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29159&hl= And don't suggest these cases are different because the women followed through her suicide attempt while the man bailed. If anything, the women featured in this thread should be held more accountable then Juan Alvarez. Alvarez's defense could argue he had no intention of injuring/murdering travelers while Jeanette Sliwinski deliberately rammed another motorist. Again, if you're going to commit suicide, don't take others with you. But I didn't advocate having the victim's families beat him with billy clubs and put a bullet in his head, which is what I object the most to in Nuke's World of Mis-Justice. The central debate is what to do with the person who has attempted suicide. If I was forced to pick between the two (and it is probably impossible) I would say that Juan should be held more accountable, he decided not to commit suicide. Someone who follows through is probably more disturb. Again, before it's pointed out, this is all conjecture.
