The Twins are in a very tough spot right now. They've had an absolutely terrible season. Nathan, Cuddyer, and Kubel are all free agents. They owe Mauer, Morneau, Pavano, and Nishioka somewhere around $50 million next season. They don't have a lot in terms of prospects fast approaching the big leagues. On top of all of that, their pitching staff has been bad this year and it's really not in any position to get much better. On top of that, they have Jerry Owens II in CF for them. I didn't realize how bad Ben Revere is offensively. He makes Juan Pierre look like a power hitter. Either they get creative or they go into a rebuild/retool mode. And, either way, Bill Smith has done an absolutely horrendous job with that team.
