  1. That’s just dumb. Poor medicals again? He’s only owed $7.33 million or whatever 22/6 is. How would the Twins already have his full medicals?
  2. The Guardians need to swoop in and take Rodon…they have a boatload of prospects to spare, three or four middle infielders alone.
  3. Hahn has to make some sort of move today or it’s going to be a very deflating press conference…can’t have that, Hahn has to go out there and project rose-colored optimism for the future.
  4. Lavelle Neal with Star Tribune won’t name names but clarified “more than a hunch” about forthcoming move/s.
  5. Twins have much better prospects plus a bundle of guys like Larnach, Kiriloff and Gordon to name a few. Can also throw Sano into any deal with Miranda establishing himself more by the day. Could also be getting Kenta Maeda back for the stretch run.
  6. So the Twins haven’t done anything recently? Wouldn’t be shocked if Happ and Robertson go now that LA has Gallo. What will become of Contreras?
  7. Simeon Woods Richardson, part of Berrios trade
  8. Ray Ray might have a total mental breakdown if that happened…
  9. Mahle? Rodon? Thor? White Sox World Series window might turn out to be a time of three Twins’ division titles in four years, lol. The same team that has lost 18 consecutive to the Yankees in the postseason.
  10. We only have about 12-15 players that wouldn’t be protected by the majority of really competitive teams. That’s just dumb.
  11. Menechino/asst. Clark, McEwing, Boston, Cairo and Narron have to go too
  12. Do that split taking out the first six weeks…pretty abysmal. Not sure that’s worth $7 million over Sheets or Grandal. Then again, we could always use more 1B/DH types.
  13. Not if you’re blowing right through the second year of tax threshold. Same for the year they went to almost $20 million in one intl. class and said screw it, might as well go all out.
  14. Yes, but those two still cost less than 1 year of Leury…and ten times less than Eric Hosmer still owed. Peanuts.
  15. Ticking clock on Hosmer. Padres starting a doubleheader at home against Rockies at 6 pm Chicago time, one hour after the trade deadline…
  16. “Trading away six players isn’t ideal. But, to acquire a player of Soto’s caliber trading away six may be the only option. The reason being the top three players are considered top 100 prospects (C.J. Abrams, Robert Hassell III, and James Wood). Yes, Abrams is no longer on MLB’s top prospect list but he has just 45 games played and was a top 10 prospect before the season started. Ultimately just because baseball trade values rate a player a certain value, that does not mean Washington will rate said players the same value. Yes, Los Angeles and St. Louis can send over a bigger offer sheet but that does not guarantee they will. This mock trade would send Washington three top 100 prospects if you consider Abrams a prospect still like me. A controllable big league pitcher in Adrian Morejon. But two young players in 19-year-old Jackson Merrill and 18-year-old Jarlin Susana. I would not be surprised at all if both players were to crack the top 100 prospect list before their big league debut in 3-4 years. I don’t think Padres will make this type of offer in the offseason. The Nationals should accept it now.” gaslampball.com Not a bad prediction, got 4 out of 6 correct. Missed, maybe on Hosmer, Morejon/Merrill versus Mackenzie Gore as one of the headliners.
  17. Roughly $45 million still owed, including two more months this year.
  18. Headline: Hosmer would reject every single AL Central team but White Sox…pretty much the entire Rust Belt, lol. Cubs, Brewers, Cards also okay.
  19. No way…well, I guess in the same way Sheets and Vaughn do. But they have Soto, Grisham, Myers, Profar and likely Tatis this year for the OF.
  20. They really need Josh Bell and Hosmer on the first bus out of town…
  21. Right, Atl and Mets will dominate next 2-3 years in all likelihood. Not much pressure. Phillies are right there, too.
  22. Depends on how badly injured Gore is and if Abrams is more Mondesi Jr. and less Jazz Chisholm. Wood and Hassell two plus years away.
  23. True dat. Maybe Colorado … even there, some fans losing patience with mixed messages and so much competition in the division. Padres just gutted their farm system of 4 out of Top 5-6, except future catcher Campusano. Have Nick Martinez, Weathers, Morejon and Baez for insurance on pitching side. Merrill, too. Shed salary of Myers, Hosmer, likely Sean Manaea departs as a FA.
  24. Abrams was/is a consensus Top 5-10 talent but he’s battled a ton of injuries and was forced up one year early due to injuries. He looks like he will take a year or two to adjust. Went from high school to majors with about as many at-bats as Andrew Vaughn received (including whatever 2020 was).
