  1. "Excising the pandemic-suppressed 2020 and '21 seasons, the 2022 A’s accounted for three of the 10 least-attended MLB games since the 1995 strike, and the 2023 A’s already logged a new entry in the “top 15” when 3,035 people showed up to watch a matchup with the Guardians on April 3. The next night, their 3,407-person crowd was topped by 11 Triple-A teams. That was before the relocation news dropped. Fans looking to make a point about Fisher’s poor stewardship of the club had been planning a “reverse boycott” in which they tried to fill the park — necessary since every A’s game looks like a regular boycott. Even if the A’s want to go the route of sticking around for a few more seasons, there’s some agency on the part of the city, which might not be feeling cooperative at this stage." JR would certainly never understand the humor behind a "mock sellout" to get back at him...that would never work. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/whats-next-for-the-oakland-as-as-they-plot-a-move-to-las-vegas-5-big-questions-that-will-shape-their-future-205504586.html
  2. Maddon predicts Ohtani now much more willing to leave West Coast "Ohtani's former manager went on to say that the Japanese-born superstar may be more willing to leave the West Coast than he was when he first came to MLB. "And a part of that, I believe – and I don't have any inside information about this – is that when he first came here he said, pretty much that, he wanted to stay on the West Coast because Japan, it was new to him, everything was new," Maddon added. "I think the guy's been Americanized, he's kind of like captured the hearts of pretty much everybody in this country. I think right now you can go anywhere to play baseball and feel good about it, I do. He's adaptable anywhere right now. That opens up everything. Including Canada, I mean, he'll go anywhere I think now to play baseball. There's gonna be a lotta suitors."
  3. And with out all their regulars playing until the last week or so...
  4. Actually holding their own against the Yankees this year, too...Joe Ryan now 5-0, pretty sure yet another former Ray. Tigers now up 3 games on the White Sox. Just wow.
  5. Would be quite interesting to get Benintendi's and Clevinger's takes (well, maybe not HIM) after being around so many winning organizations/teams in their careers. (Well, other than the recent Royals.) Grandal as well. Giolito has been pretty quiet compared to previous years...probably just awaiting the expected June/July DDL trade. At any rate, it seems like he has taken a step back from his previous leadership role, except for fulfilling union duties.
  6. Padres will put it together eventually on offense...but they're looking very disinterested/listless in the early going. Cubs really on a roll but they still have to get past the Brewers and Cardinals (who also look pretty bad early)...can't imagine the Pirates won't start to fade eventually.
  7. 7 if the Twins hold on against NYY again
  8. That's even more of a punishment this year...
  9. Iron pyrite or cubic zirconium
  10. We are thinking of starting a side business since already have so many badminton courts here in China that can be remarked for the front zones by the net...
  11. Reds are going to be two games up on the Sox if Edwin Diaz's brother holds it together... six run rally against TEX bottom of the 8th.
  12. Nothing to lose at this point. Would definitely bump up attendance until the novelty wore off after a month or so.
  13. Taylor not quite dead after all...
  14. Second clubhouse Hahn and Sox managers have totally lost or just capitulated, along with the LaRoches Eaton Sale being the other major uprising.
  15. Another 2-3 minute half inning coming up here on "offense."
  16. Giolito now checked out, Hendriks and Abreu not around... and TA7 lost his influence, only Cueto Cairo and second half Andrus brought some stability and self respect as professionals.
  17. We all need to retreat to a private Caribbean island with no internet or satellite connection at this point. Minus the Epstein crowd.
  18. Rockies 8-17 now. Beat the Guardians in CLE two in a row.
  19. Palka was fun for 1/2 season and Davidson had his moments like the KC game. 2016 was the worst after that 23-10 start and then all the wheels came off...damned Rangers' debacle.
  20. The first clue was clubhouse reaction to Anderson's All-Star selection...
  21. 41-121 pace... or 40-122 lol. Depends if you give them the benefit of the doubt or not on those other two games.
  22. It's almost like 2004-05 cursed the Sox to never find the right set of bargain veterans to supplement a core of players... haven't even come close since the 2006/08 teams. Or Rick Hahn is the curse...more simply put.
  23. He looked like he had the potential to be a star in years 2/3...just plateaued earlier like Giolito. Twins were right on the money trading him too early rather than too late.
