  1. There's another error. Perfectly placed bouncer. Payton overran it. Deivi Garcia at 97.
  2. Cleveland announcers going off on how overranked Yankees' prospects often are compared to actual MLB results of unheralded Guardians youngsters.

  4. WHITE SOX Lineup: Andrew Benintendi, LF Yoán Moncada, 3B Luis Robert Jr., CF Eloy Jiménez, DH Andrew Vaughn, 1B Dominic Fletcher, RF Paul DeJong, SS Nicky Lopez, 2B Martín Maldonado, C This group should be much better defensively, but the question remains as to how much they can produce together with the bats. Robert Jr. is one of the best all-around players in the game, and Moncada, Jiménez and Vaughn have the talent for strong years. Rotation: Dylan Cease, RHP Michael Kopech, RHP Erick Fedde, RHP Michael Soroka, RHP Chris Flexen, RHP There’s plenty of starting depth within the White Sox system, as young hurlers such as Nick Nastrini and Jake Eder aren’t far from Major League action. Garrett Crochet will be viewed as a starter for ‘24, but with 73 innings total on his resume, the left-hander might have to go to Triple-A Charlotte to build up for that new role. It’s also a big season for Kopech as part of the rotation. MLB.com You know you have problems when Kopech is your #2 and half of SoxTalk doesn't even want him in the rotation any longer.
  5. Negligible postseason odds while the rest of the division is leaving them behind in the dust. In the worst division in the game by far...the only team where fans are bereft of any hope. How is that even possible when you have your own television network to rely upon? The Madame Web of the AL.
  6. That's also the only team in MLB under .300 for OBP.

White Sox almost doubling the rest of MLB in worst RS/RA ratio. Currently -35. Mariners, -17, 3-9 record and Blue Jays, -17, 3-8 record tied for 28th/29th worst.
  8. Also thought Sacramento and Salt Lake City were some of the secondary options...si or no? Portland, but they're too far off from having a feasible stadium at the moment.

    Fast move for Wolkow.
  10. Good acoustics/concert hall effect?
  11. Battle of the Catching Quero's...
  12. Oh no, here we go again with the Orioles message board invasion for six weeks in June/July...
  13. Definitely definitive utilizing all caps for additional emphasis.
  14. Shoeless Joe Jackson. "Say it ain't so, JR." Uribe and Buehrle Sad/Crying Chris Berman
  15. For a very specialized role more necessary for postseason. Certainly not as an everyday player. Just like Terrence Gore as PR for the Royals in the mid 2010s when all he could do was run and field. He couldn't hit his way out of a thin and wet paper bag.
  16. -31 RS/RA Still making way too many mistakes on defense. 9 walks on Sox pitchers. Trade Eloy becomes a realistic clarion call at least.
  17. Too bad June draft order isn't allocated based on worst run differential...
  18. Didn't he basically miss all last season or a bunch of time?
  19. Berroa still needs to improve his control, but he’s the favorite to emerge as Chicago’s closer. The 23-year-old posted a 36.6 K% in the minors last season, which would’ve ranked sixth among MLB relievers. Berroa also recorded a 2.88 FIP despite a 5.37 BB/9 rate, and the White Sox have no one who matches his arm talent in their bullpen. Yahoo.com/sports
  20. If there was no tanking, that means the White Sox would have kept Giolito with an extension, for example. I'm not even sure what players from 2023 that are no longer on the roster that you could make an argument for retaining/extending. Which would have meant KC Royals-esque FA 2023-24 spending, but that might still get you a .500 team, AT BEST. Would you extend Moncada, for example? We can all argue for keeping Cease with an extension, but for how much and how many years? And what's the result with Dylan on this team for 2024 vs. acquiring two Top 100 prospects for the next competitive team?
  21. Wasn't Berroa something like the #12 prospect in the Seattle system...and at least a potential candidate to start, at least that was suggested at the time of the trade? Guess Seattle's system is just really pretty bad, or the idea about him possibly being utilized as a starter has flown the coop already.
  22. Eaton and Avi Garcia both had really strong 6ish and 4+ fWAR seasons in RF but certainly not on a consistent basis...and Eaton also played a lot of CF as well. Dye was pretty much a statue due to his leg when he came to us, but certainly still an offensive presence. Earlier in his career had a very strong arm as well, but his habit of catching the ball flat footed or going backwards and/or trying to throw with all of his momentum going forward after an extended run-up didn't serve him well, either.
  23. Now the Red Sox pretty much have to sign Snell or Montgomery to be taken seriously by anyone...also, at least in his own mind, JR validated once again in not doling out extensions to Gio, Cease, Kopech, etc.
  24. Keep Montgomery and Schultz healthy and on a steady pace to their major league debuts. Do everything to turn Mr. Gonzalez around at SS, especially as if it becomes likelier that Montgomery might be ticketed for 3B or 1B/DH or potentially even corner outfield. Obviously, third base would be the next best outcome.
