Ozzie Guillen Released from Contract
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) @dan_bernstein Dan Bernstein Kenny looks bad. Wear a damn tie. Act like an exec. @dan_bernstein Dan Bernstein Bad showing for a nervous, tight, dry-mouthed, defensive Ken Williams. When I was watching the Kenny press conference, all I could think was, "why are you still here?" The guy should be gone. Period.

Ozzie Guillen Released from Contract
QUOTE (whitem0nkey @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) dan_bernstein Stay tuned to Sportsradio 670 for the postgame coverage -- both Ozzie and Kenny expected to speak. I hate that Dan Bernstein was all over this. He rags on baseball being boring, and he never goes to the games. He'll be puffy chested tomorrow.

Ozzie Guillen Released from Contract
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) @jonmorosi Jon Morosi Reinsdorf said to hold Joey Cora, Buddy Bell, and Tony La Russa in high regard. Three names to keep in mind as #WhiteSox prepare for search. 53 seconds ago via web I don't buy Cora managing here for a minute. Bell or La Russa maybe, but only to hold the position until Joe McEwing is ready. But the Dave Martinez or Sandy Alomar thing sounds more realistic.

Ozzie Guillen Released from Contract
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 08:59 PM) Does it really matter? They get rid of Guillen, and they don't have to pay him for 2012. Yep, who they get back really makes no difference. It's not going to be anything good. I bet it's a couple low level pitchers.

Axelrod with six scoreless. I heard Thome was impressed with him last week. Might be a good long reliever next season. They're going to need one next year.

Ozzie Guillen Released from Contract
I'm glad there will be a change, but I'm sorry it had to end this way. Ozzie is good for baseball. It's going to be interesting to see what happens in Miami, where he doesn't have a brother relationship with the GM, and a father-son realtionship with the owner.

Cowley's got quotes... http://twitter.com/#!/cst_Cowley Ozzie should just start packing now. He's done wearing a Sox uniform in 48 hours.

Cardinals taking a lead to the 9th. Braves lost. Could be down to 1 game. Cardinals go to Houston. Braves host the Phillies. With the Phils playing bad this week, they'll want to win those games. Wouldn't it be nice if there were two games on Thursday for the last playoff spot, and not some forced 1-game bulls*** they'll be doing in the next couple years.

"We have spent, over the last decade, a lot of time in first plac
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 24, 2011 -> 01:39 PM) It's not just a season because you know the current season has not been good. The measuring stick is "time in first place" over a DECADE. I love this bunch. It's incredible he felt the urge to speak those words on the record. So insulting to the fans.

GM's should only be judged on playoff appearances. 2 times in 11 years in the biggest market in one of the weakest divisions is awful. Kenny should be out, but Ozzie is a good first step. And I also like that Kenny will be forced to drop payroll. Maybe it will make him resign eventually.
