AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!
All this optimism is making it hard to think.

¡Viva la Revolución!
So I guess it'll be Dayan/Vizquel at 3rd and Lillibridge moving into Nix's role. I'm fine with that.

Peavy has fluid in his shoulder
He might need some time on the DL but i'd hardly say his arm is f*cked.

Why is Kenny in Pittsburgh?
Halos have said they are sticking with internal options. That will probably change, as their depth now is pretty bad, but I don't think they go after PK until they can get him for a lot less. I'd imagine they go after a real 3rd baseman before they replace Napoli at first.

Why is Kenny in Pittsburgh?
Kenny is in Pittsburgh to play nice with Ozzie for JR.

6-16 game thread, Sox at Pirates
Yeah KW just said he was going to give the team more time before he started moving things. Even if it is the Pirates, I doubt he would trade PK when the Sox are winning. Unless its for a big haul.

Does AJ get traded this weekend?
Donny Lucy is not an MLB catcher.

Does AJ get traded this weekend?
I really hope not. I'd almost rather bring back Castro. He knows the staff, can probably catch 2-3 days a week, and is fairly durable. This would split Flowers' playing time between learning C and just hitting at DH (or 1st). As long as AJ is on this team he is going to catch, full time. Extending him just sends Flowers the message that they don't consider him part of their future.

June Catch All White Sox Thread
The Braves are playing really well right now.

The Buyers Thread
Most of what i've heard about Flowers is that he is slow and awkward behind the plate due to his size. Haven't heard anything about his game calling but he does have a strong arm.
-
The Sellers Thread
Flowers has 4 HR in the last what, 6 games? He is starting to square up again, and is striking out less to boot. Let him do his thing for a month or so and if we are truly out of it, i'm guessing AJ will waive his right so he can play for a contender. He has said as much, contradicting his earlier comments. The market for Konerko is pretty dry right now, but it should heat up nearer the deadline, as borderline teams look to add some firepower. He looks really keyed in this season so he will probably still be pretty valuable in July. There will be demand for our relief corp if things get uglier.

The Buyers Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 12, 2010 -> 07:50 PM) Why on earth would we be a buyer? And even if a legit answer to that question can be found, what do we have in the minors to trade for help? To make the team better this year, and also next year. I expect any of these moves to be accompanied by a bit of selling as well.

The Buyers Thread
-Targets- Kelly Johnson, OF Luke Scott, OF Both are under team control for next season as well. Scott will get a bit pricey but no more so that Quentin, who he would likely replace. KJ could also play 3rd. Ty Wiggington, 3B I dunno how legit he is but he would probably be better than Teahen. Alex Gordon, 3B Probably a pipe dream but i'd love to have him. And the big fish Prince Fielder, 1B/DH This likely costs more than we have got but man that would be a nice bat to have after Rios and Paulie.

6/12 GT: White Sox @ Cubs - 3:10pm CDT FOX
That's why Silva's been so effective this season - bad calls.

Does AJ get traded this weekend?
Think we could get a Robbie Ross/Engel Beltre type prospect in return? Both are young and have some serious potential, especially Beltre.

And that's a White Sox Blowout!
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 9, 2010 -> 10:38 PM) Wow we be the living hell out of them. That's fun, but i hope it doesn't change anyones mind about his team. No, but Chicago sports were really fun for one night. Bring on the shuffle KW!

You are Jerry Reinsdorf, you decide, who gawn?
I don't think anyone will go, nor do they need to. There's no point in making changes just to make changes, since at this point, the talent assembled is going to lose with or without Oz, Kenny, Cowley, et al. I know people are screaming for change but face it - there are no prospects knocking on the door right now save Hudson. The fanbase and members of this board will just have to be patient and see what Kenny can swing with the crap he has. This year has basically been a disaster at all levels, what with the pitching implosion, the lousy defense, the predictably awful offense, the injuries and performance slides in the minors. Kenny might be a quick draw but overall the Sox organization is very slow moving and traditional, and you aren't likely to see any FO changes any time soon.

QUOTE (T R U @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) That 68-94 could look a lot worse if we start trading away veterans.. then again, it could improve too Well there's almost no way the final record is going to matter since we won't make the playoff. Might as well find out!

Maybe the right player is still out there.

Day 2 Draft thread
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 8, 2010 -> 09:51 AM) Many publications are noting that the White Sox would indeed have taken Grandal if not popped by the Reds. They certainly would have had to go overslot with him. One wonders if the draft budget is noticeably higher this year. I can only hope. We'll find out today I suppose.

Day 2 Draft thread
Paxton too. Maybe the Sox load up on lefties!!!#!@!@! It'd be funny anyways.

The Suggested Moves / Who Goes/Stays thread
No way we get Trout but I think the Sox can do better than Trumbo for PK.
